Egyptians can’t afford daily bread

Bread. For Egypt’s middle classes it is breakfast, lunch and dinner. In Egyptian Arabic it is known as “aish” which means both bread and life.

For many Egyptians the flat, round bread is also becoming a symbol of the country’s inequalities.
Rocketing global commodity prices and failing domestic supplies have made this staple food unaffordable for 20 percent of the country’s 76 million inhabitants.
The Middle East’s most populous country is not alone in these problems. The UN warned economic turmoil could hit many of the world’s poorer countries as global inflation spirals — but with 40 percent of the population living near the poverty line, the price rise has struck particularly hard.
Earlier this week, in the gritty industrial city of Mahalla al-Kobra, northern Egypt, a teenager was killed during two days of violent clashes between residents and police.
The protesters, who are enraged by low wages and rising prices, also tore down a billboard of Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak.

currently 36 country are refusing to sell food, many others cannot afford food. Hati has eatten its seeds for next years crop. Buy food. Buy rice and wheat. They soon will be more valuable then gold. If you have all the world and don’t have food for yourself or your family. you would trade it for a cup of rice.

In the bible it says that in the end times a loaf of bread will cost a day’s wages. I think we are in the start of that. If this whole financial system comes crashing down, gold and silver will be worthless since they will go completely with the new cashless system, and with only electronic means to pay, gold and silver will be worth nothing.

Because canada and the us and businesses know that resources (food, water, fuel and people believe it or not) will be a major commodity in the future. With 6.2 billion people on this planet there will be a rush to feed people because of the increased desertfication of the planet and the dwindling of freshwater. And guess what, the areas of the most freshwater are in Russia Canada America and South America, but still not enough to service the rest of the planet (especially when those countries will be more concerned about their people first. The water thing especially is important in the coming future, because just like oil its the ability to get at cheap freshwater. This planet I believe is over 85% water, but much almost all is saltwater. They should have started building more desalinization plants back in the 50’s to make sure that there would be freshwater for all, but they didn’t. There is no way now that we could build or poor thirdworld countries could afford the building of hundreds of desalinization plants.
So what will happen will be a forced migration of people to areas of the world that have resources (food, water, land, peace etc.) but this will lead to war. Over 10 years ago I made a comment to my friends that they next world war will be over natural resources and survival of their people. And it looks like it may be coming into fluition.

Ahhh Buck…more bs. Fresh water is only an issue when you don’t put infrastructure in place to capture it before it runs off. Sloth does not imply natural shortage…though sloth will cause shortages. Overdevelopment in arid areas (where it is not necessary) is a fools game.
Interesting that areas like Egypt, Israel and Saudi Arabia…who have misused and overtaxed their aquifers for years are leading this new environmental sophistry.

Here, again, is a classic case for the paleolithic diet. If the Neolithic period hadn’t brought with it agriculture, and thus a grain-based, dairy-based diet, millions of people all over the world wouldn’t find themselves in this situation. But, it’s been ten thousand years, now, and it’s far too late to reverse the damage done, for most of humanity. For those of us in the west who can (for the present) afford meat, we have the means to survive the elites’ attack against our food supply. But then, it is the Third World populations – with their grain-based diet – who are the real target.
