The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to act for the first time to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that scientists blame for the warming of the planet, according to top Obama administration officials.

The decision, which most likely would play out in stages over a period of months, would have a profound impact on transportation, manufacturing costs and how utilities generate power. It could accelerate the progress of energy and climate change legislation in Congress and form a basis for the United States’ negotiating position at United Nations climate talks set for December in Copenhagen.
The environmental agency is under order from the Supreme Court to make a determination whether carbon dioxide is a pollutant that endangers public health and welfare, an order that the Bush administration essentially ignored despite near-unanimous belief among agency experts that research points inexorably to such a finding.
Lisa Jackson, the new EPA administrator, said in an interview that she had asked her staff to review the latest scientific evidence and prepare the documentation for a so-called endangerment finding. Jackson said she had not decided to issue such a finding but she pointedly noted that the second anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Massachusetts v. EPA, is April 2, and there is the wide expectation that she will act by then.
“We here know how momentous that decision could be,” Jackson said. “We have to lay out a road map.”

Just wanted to say that I am glad to see someone (else) flying the distress sign. That idiot WBAP talk show host Mark Davis here in Dallas/Ft Worth area – same one who tiraded against Alex Jones about the Michell Malkin “death threats” – has said that it is against the flag code to fly it upside down. Well, obviously you and I both know that it is actually a sign that the country is in distress. I learned that in the military…guess Mr. Davis didn’t get a chance to learn that since i don’t believe he served.
On the present topic, I get so pissed at these pseudo-science pushing “biocrats” (stole that name from a PhD that I used to work for in OK) that try to tell everyone that things are happening, but aren’t able to back their claims up with scientific data. And by that, I mean REAL data and reports that are peer reviewed by the scientific community and studies and experiments are performed for YEARS before any concrete conclusions are made. I guess I wasted 7 years of my life in college becoming a water resources engineer, because Al Gore with no scientific degree or research background is able to get a Nobel Prize just by saying that global Warming is real. My professors and graduate committe would have torn him a new one!
Sorry for the rant, but just needed to get that out. Okay, I’m good; well, time to get back to work so I can buy some more guns, ammo, and storable food!

I’m with you, however, they will undoubtedly build this tax into several things, so we can’t escape paying it. It won’t be a direct tax, but an indirect tax. They’ve already proposed adding it into the price of gasoline at the pump, for example. You buy gas, you pay the carbon tax. No escaping it.

So, what now? Is the EPA going the mandate how often we can exhale?
We need to expose the FACT, now more than ever, that carbon dioxide is NOT responsible for global warming (which doesn’t exist, in the first place. We are in a COOLING period, since 1997) and is NOT a “deadly” gas but a necessary component for life on earth. We should all be promoting this as much as we’ve promoted the fact that 9/11 was an inside job, folks. Get on it!

Electric is made from carbon also if not hydro so electric sucks,plus the Ocean gives off more CO than we do.EPA CO taxation is another industrial scam to suck more money from working men and women to feed thier greedy needs.I believe all the utilities companys need dragged before the ethics commitee because they are all draging us deeper in debt with thier high priced bills.If you think your electric bill is high now wait till you charge your piece of crap electric car with it.There is suposedly such huge amounts of natrual gas but yet they are charging twice as much for it in some cases three times as much.Most people could buy another home with the amount these monopoly money grabbers are charging.
