Exercising First Amendment Now “Vandalism” As Corporate Media Attacks Obama Joker Contest

In an effort to chill freedom of speech and intimidate people from exercising their first amendment rights, the establishment media is claiming that posting flyers in public places represents vandalism and is a criminal offense, despite the fact that such practice has been commonplace in America for hundreds of years.
A WFTV news report about the Infowars Obama Joker poster contest does its best to manufacture artificial outrage that President Obama, whose entire agenda is being ferociously opposed at town hall events across the country, and whose popular approval is sinking in polls, has been “disrespected” by the posters despite the fact that satirical lampooning of political figures is an integral part of American history.

The two separate video reports put out by WFTV concentrate on one instance where the posters were placed in an inappropriate place, a post office mailbox, while ignoring the hundreds of other perfectly legal and legitimate locations where the posters have been put up, and indeed the tone of the entire piece suggests that it is illegal and an act of “vandalism” to put up flyers at all.
In that case, the millions of flyers plastered up on light poles, telephone poles, trees and other public areas across the country each year must also represent an act of vandalism. Want your neighbors to help you find a lost cat by putting up a flyer? You’re a vandal. Want to advertise a garage sale? You’re a criminal, according to the definition of “vandalism” concocted by WFTV.
The media only seized upon this story when they could flag up the fact that a few posters were placed on a mailbox, while ignoring the hundreds of other locations where they could be seen for the last week. This clearly represents agenda-driven bias and calculated editorial spin aimed at demonizing people who dare question Obama’s saintly image – which is a proven manufactured hoax because as all the polls show, his actual approval ratings are sinking even faster than those of Bush.
Of course, this has nothing to do with concerns about “vandalism” and everything to do with the establishment trying to protect the fast diminishing God-like image of the anointed one – Barack Hussein Obama. This is about chilling free speech and intimidating people against exercising their first amendment right to simply put up a flyer espousing their political opinion.
According to the definition implied by the establishment media, placing all of these signs is a criminal offense.
As our contest rules clearly state, “Obama Joker posters should be posted in public commons where other fliers, public announcements, handbills, etc., are posted. Please do not post on federal or private property as this will be considered vandalism and will be counterproductive and diminish the message of the Obama Joker poster.”
Posting flyers on telephone and light poles is not a criminal offense, it’s called the first amendment.
The corporate media has also attempted to claim that the posters are racist, despite the fact that Obama is being depicted as a fictional character from the Batman comic book, just as George W. Bush was characterized as the joker before him.
There were no cries of racism when Bush was satirized as the Joker nor when he was characterized as a blood-sucking vampire and nor should there have been – this has nothing to do with racism, it’s about freedom of speech.

The establishment plays the race card over and over again to divide the people, distract them from government corruption and get us at each other’s throats. They are the real racists because they are promulgating racism and exploiting it for their own ends.
Residents of Clermont and WFTV may not realize it, but political satire and parody have a long history dating back well before the author Jonathan Swift wrote his A Modest Proposal in 1729. Political cartoons were instrumental in the American Revolutionary War. Scathing political cartoons appeared in Ben Franklin’s newspaper The Pennsylvania Gazette and the Massachusetts Centinel. In the 1870s, cartoonist Thomas Nast published a series of illustrations lampooning the Tammany Ring, the Democratic Party political machine that played a major role in controlling New York City politics.
The Obama as Joker meme fits in that esteemed tradition — and may be considered “subvertisement” of a popular Hollywood movie as well — but then history is lost on a dumbed-down public all too ready to fawn and grovel at the feet of political leaders who betray them at every turn.
Indeed, the point is to “deeply offend” the sensibilities and get people to think about what Obama stands for and the people he represents.
Our rulers were shrewd when they selected Obama to be president — they understood the politically correct mechanism at work in American society, an ethic inculcated over the last three decades. It will now be considered a racist crime to criticize and parody Barack Obama. How long before this criticism and disagreement becomes a punishable crime?

The unfortunate side effect of said action is that you really will be committing a criminal act, called littering. I think the best method here has already in works, but that doesn’t mean more creativity cannot be applied here. Consider creating “gift bags” to hang on the door knobs of your neighborhood, containing your little cards, and other important information instead of dumping quantities of laminated images in designated locations. Regardless of what you do, make sure you comply with the local laws to avoid causing yourself avoidable headache, not to mention granting them the chance to distort the message (as mentioned in this article).

I put mine on telephone polls and someone called the police on me. They called my house and told me it could be a $700 fine for each poster ( I only put up 15). I think there is a good chance that these ridiculous attacks on the Joker posters, the attacks on gun owners, Paulistas, etc. are part of a ‘case-building’ exercise to provide a rationale for the martial law actions to be taken against these parties after the next ‘attack’. The gunman that the media went ape over was a very effective meme as well.
They’ve built Obama up as they built Kennedy up…and I think the people behind him are quite capable of sacrificing him to advance their New World Order agenda. Just last month he got two years probation & a $2000 fine for – you guessed it – illegally putting up posters in Boston.
(He has been in trouble with the law over this issue for years because of his Andre The Giant/Obey stickers.)
Putting up fliers is illegal in most parts of US because the chances are pretty good that they will eventually decay & become litter – I don’t see anyone here mentioning cleaning up the mess they left for others – not to mention the fact that defacing something that doesn’t belong to you shows absolutely no respect for the basic American concept of property rights, something that Alex & others here routinely claim to support.
(In the case of public property, that means it belongs to EVERYONE, not just YOU, which means YOU don’t have the right to deface it.)
Personally, I could care less, and am all for public displays of art, even lame ones like this.
That said, if you want to be a graffiti artist, you’re going to have to get used to running from the cops.
Stop bitching about it, and deal with it like everyone else that engages in this kind of fun.

Putting up poster of anything is technically officially frowned on or is illegal because the Lost cat or garage sale signs don’t threaten anything and normally not plastered everywhere thousands of times, therefore they let it go. Otherwise, they could look at the sign and go arrest or ticket the “offender”. This however is an organized effort and Alex makes a juicy target, or at least he used to. Attack the Obama hating right wing conspiracy theory nutjob and look like you’re doing your job (law enforcement xyz, take your pick). I personally think the whole thing is a little offensive and chosen just because you know it will strike a nerve but you can defend it as being part a bigger principal. So while I’m not a fan, I totally support the idea behind it, I just wish something else was chosen, it would have a better effect at pulling others over to this side, where now it just deepens the divide. But I’m with Larry Flynt, it’s not illegal to have bad taste.

Hello Levelheaded… vet here too. I really appreciate Alex and all he does, yet I must agree with you. I frequently compose a well thought comment to post on here and frequently see them never get posted. I have no idea what Alex or his staff have set as criteria for a post being censored, but am beginning to believe that the more foul language, racist slurs, and threats of violence you put into a comment, the better chance it has of making it onto the site.
I hope that’s not the case, but a quick glance at any page with comments on this site will reveal this to be the case it seems. What a shame. You should all band together and buy a billboard or something then. If a company can advertise a product in one space– you can advertise a message. Companies don’t go around posting illegally on public property, do they? No. They pay for it, or make you pay for it when you wear their advertisements on your clothes. That’s why shirts are a good way to get a message across. You can make money (or offer them at base price) and TELL PEOPLE about ideas through simple exposure of yourself to any public space. Why wear a stupid swoosh thing or eagle symbol when you can wear something that delivers a meaningful message?
So stop posting on public property like you shouldn’t be, and do it the right way.
All in all, I don’t care what the message is… it’s how it’s said that matters.

It is my understanding that the Federal Government was incorporated in 1871, thus we have USA as a corporation. This in my opininion, is un American. So now either you support this corporation or you are opposed to it. Since any corporation exists for its own benefit, it does not benefit the American people. Now if we do not support that corporation we are called un American, but in fact it is the Corp USA that is un American. This corporation had NO juristiction over the man and woman created by God, so we had to be deceived into thinking we would benefit from joining the corporation. Along comes the Social Security Act, and when you sign that card, you volunteer, to abide by the rules, statutes, and codes of the corporation. It is all legal, but not all lawful. If you have a SS card, you are an employee of the Federal Corp, and must pay taxes. Note the trick was to create a “person” a “legal fiction” whose name sounded like yours, but was spelled in all capital letters. The trick worked as we all believe ourselves to be the “person” created by the government, instead of the man or woman created by God. When you go to court, you must appear in “person” or persona, acting as another, which gives then juristiction. We must get back to basics, and understand, I am NOT a person, human being, carpenter, plumber, lawyer, doctor, etc. These are all words of commerse. I am simply a man or woman, and answer only to my creator. There are only TWO governments. The government of MAN or the government of GOD. If you do not believe in a Creator, then good luck with the government of man. Please explore this site with an opened mind. Learn who you are, and what you are NOT. Remember if you get on the ship, it is understood, to oppose the captain is mutiny. We must get off the ship!!!
