If a major hurricane strikes Florida, authorities may take advantage of the foreclosure crisis to place displaced residents in vacant homes seized by banks.
Ruben Almaguer, interim director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, has proposed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency use foreclosed homes — which are particularly abundant in this state — as an alternative to placing people in trailers or scattering them around the country.“Historically, no one has ever used foreclosed properties,” Almaguer said. “If they have 1,000 foreclosed properties in the area, why not?
“It may be cheaper, especially if they have to drive a trailer down from Kansas. The cost of driving that down, setting it up, now they’ve got to connect water, sewer, electricity, get permits pulled for it. That’s resolved when you already have in place a fixed property. And what happens a month later when the second hurricane comes through the same area? Would you rather be in a foreclosed home or a travel trailer? I’d rather be in a foreclosed home.”

Especially a house that someone bought far beyond their income stream. Better than a FEMA trailer of death, I’m sure. Maybe they’ll load the houses up with asbestos and fermeldahyde before moving the people in, as a housewarming gift. This IS FEMA afterall. Where’s the catch.

There is no catch. It’s about money for the banksters and rubbing the taxpayers’ noses in it. The banks don’t want to pay local property taxes.
To the parrots squawking about people buying houses they cannot afford, I suspect you live in a dump. The “creditors” have been paid back many times over with the trillions of dollars in bail out money. There are no remaining debts. It’s a fraud. The banks didn’t loan anything! The mortgage notes are fraudulent contracts. Stop watching so much TV, and research the truth about the Federal Reserve. I suspect many people are listening to AJ but not truly understanding. I will post a link to a good site that explains the legal aspects.

This is simply another way to attempt to prop up the housing market instead of letting it fall naturally. By utilizing the foreclosed homes for homeless/displaced citizens, the banks will get indirect bailout money. And this will further prevent the average american from being able to buy a house at a reasonable price. Better to leave the homes empty, fuck the banks, the home prices fall to realistic values and average americans can afford houses again. But that will never happen.

I can’t wait to live in a nice house. What’s the problem? I just hope it has a pool/jaquzzi and a really nice bathroom. With that and my $3500. fema visa card.. sounds like a nice vacation.

True. Our ancestors of just a century or so ago would have laughed at how helpless we are today. They made their own homes, with their own hands, and fed themselves with their own crops and livestock. There is no reason why we can’t do so, also, if we have to.

Gary Reply:
June 5th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
There’s always an excuse, isn’t there? The lazy can hire or ask for help. The infirm can do likewise, and so can those who don’t know (or they can learn how, unless they also happen to be among the lazy). Our ancestors depended upon their neighbors for barn raisings and so on. It’s called “community,” which is something else we’ve lost knowledge of.
FreedomLover Reply:
June 5th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
Sometimes there IS no money to hire help. But you’re right. “Community” will have to rise up and take care of each other. This is the only way we’ll ever get through this.
As for the laziness…
II Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

There is no reason we should have to, Gary. All of our “problems” are artificially created by degenerate scum. We have the technology and resources for everyone on this planet to be happy. It’s not laziness; it’s cowardliness. All of the world’s useless wars have weakened the human race. We have lost too many with courage, leaving us with weak, apathetic, morally-base selfish-degenerates to propagate and perpetuate misery in the world. It’s time for courage and self-respect. How long are we going to stand here cowering while these crooks piss on us?
Gary Reply:
June 5th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
Agreed. But, to ultimately free ourselves from these degenerate scum who control our lives, we must, eventually, part with the artificial prison they’ve constructed around us, known as “civilization” and get back to living the way our ancestors lived; i.e., free, independent and self-sufficient.

This is so the banks can can collect $$$$ from taxpayers across the country to finance properties in Florida from which they evicted people. Also, property taxes will be paid by taxpayers from all over the country for property owned by private banks in Florida.
I hope the Feds know we can care less how much money they print, and the rest of the world should take note that the American people are not responsible for any of it. The hour of reckoning is fast approaching.
The scam is over.
June 4th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
This is not an excellent idea. If you already know FEMA is corrupt do you really think this is a good idea?
I’m guessing that they are placing people in homes in the south to watch over them. Perhaps if they place them in the home they may ‘bug’ it and control the folks living in these spaces.
Plus, these are owned by banks and FEMA could make deals to evict people or order them out on demand. Think about this and question it.

OK…I’ll try to post my ORIGINAL comment one more time. Seems to have “slipped” somewhere TWICE now!!!
Please refer to the concept of PERSONAL PROPERTY, as in privately owned instead of public property. These forclosed homes are still privately owned, personal property, even if the owner is a [gag] bank. IF [a very big word for 2 letters] the government can come in and commandeer these forclosed homes for any emergency it is a further [and drastic] erosion on the concept of personal property. Soon this republic will resemble Czarist Russia where the Czar owned EVERYTHING, including the peoples homes, furnature, clothing, food, money, EVERYTHING. But being a benovelant leader he “allowed” his subjects to use the items they bought with HIS money that THEY slaved for. Is this the future you want for the republic? Confiscation of property due to an emergency just makes future confiscation for whatever reason easier.

The banks are themselves owned by the government since they were bailed out.(or are they?) The houses that we are talking about are a portion which were used for the issue of bonds (I.O.U.s) and stock options that became “toxic”=(They were sold as if they existed while in reality they were generated by hedge funds out of thin air-a Lie!!) by proxy they are the property of “We the people” under the Federal Government. Now this is where I get confused ,can the FG use such a device to acquire property with in a state? Yes the people are/were in breach of contract and the penalty for that is all property reverts back to the bank who presumably” bought” them from a developer . My point is that the banks did not legitimately buy them since they did not have the “real” money to do so; therefore they are not their property. The banks are equally as guilty of default as the evictees. Also consider the consequences if the FG can just forgive frauds ,print money, and then use it to purchase all the real property in a sovereign state. NOMORE sovereign state! We own you.

Experstis, don’t confuse the “deal” the automakers got for the gift the banks recieved. While the car companies forked over a majority stake [ownership] in order to get a bailout the banks just asked for a gift and got it! So, while our tax money is paying banker bonuses as they continue to refuse to make loans, ownership is still private. So… the forclosed homes are still privately owned. [MY GOD I HATE DEFENDING THOSE THIEVING BASTARDS. I WISH THEY WOULD ALL CHOKE ON THEIR BREAKFAST AND DIE!] If the only way to protect my [and your] property rights is to defend these fricking vampires then I guess it needs to be done [but they better watch their goddam backs!]. Now IF the Fed Gov would go and pay RENT on these homes, that might be different.

I guess that’s what is meant by “deep capture” of the regulatory system, and this is the real out come i.e. the houses set empty and the people live in tents,so long as the police force doesn’t run them off. I’ve never read the bill;maybe I should read the bill for there must be some contractual relationship between the FG and the Banksters. Do you know which NO# that treasonous document is? I remember the threat of martial law if it was n’t passed. I’ll see if I can find it since I hope it defines some limitations on these BASTARDS
who are stealing our children’s future. My god,are we in for hell if they have license to steal.

June 4th, 2009 at 5:30 pm
This is just slightly different than the Nazis’ confiscation of the property of the wealthy and using it as their own quarters. Let’s not forget that all these folks who have lost their homes due to this subprime mortgage fiasco were deliberately duped and then robbed of their homes after paying into them for years. Then, the final indignity is to have their homes given to people who haven’t paid a thing for them while, they, themselves face the same homelessness that these storm refugees would otherwise be facing. This is nothing but the confiscation and redistribution of private property.
June 4th, 2009 at 6:00 pm

This is nothing new. Realestate Companies have been commissioned by FEMA to use their signs to target empty homes for military confiscation and relocation of populace. Those signs you see on street corners with arrows advertizing “REMAX” or some other company and their logos are there for that reason. It just lets the military know where empty houses or building are to relocate refugees. Hey, if they like your place–they may stick a sign up and kick you out because you have a pool or a good view for recon missions. I am not lying. THIS IS TRUE!

If the people who report the news would have a conscience they would stop holding back important news that the people need to know. If the news reporters would have steered a straight course and not of held back on the news or water down their reporting this situation that the world is in could have been stopped. That is if the reporters would have been honest about reporting honest news. Oh you say the reporters would get fired if they told the true news? Your damn right they would be fired. Now if the next reporters that they hire also told the truth in the news and so on and so on well then the owners of the television news and the newspapers would either have to report the news themselfs or close shop. Any of the reporters that are too scared or are just ignorant about reporting the true news are considered traitors in my book.
