“All I’m trying to do is ask questions!”
John Ziegler: John went to USC to witness and ask questions about Katie Couric getting the Walter Cronkite journalism award for her interview of Sarah Palin. He intended to also give away copies of his film but was literally prevented from doing so. He did not go there hoping for or expecting any sort of confrontation, especially with law enforcement. He was simply shocked and horrified by what happened there, as should every freedom loving American. He did absolutely nothing wrong and was handcuffed, detained and literally abused by law enforcement at the event. The video speaks for itself, John will have plenty to say about this very disturbing episode. This video was shot and edited by Orange County Films. John Ziegler was not involved the the production or editing of this video in any way.

Katie Couric is the most disgusting little whore that has ever appeared on the evening news! She has the nerve to call herself an “Investigative Journalist” – what a freakin’ joke! A couple of months ago I almost puked when she stated “I just don’t understand why some parents are refusing to vaccinate their children when the FDA assures us they are safe!”, then she cocks her ugly little head to the side and tries to act all cute!
As far as I’m concerned, media dis-info whores like Couric, are accomplices to the NWO’s crimes and will eventually be dealt with as such! Your day’s of intentionally misleading the American people are near an end bastards!

Why is it wrong to stop bad things from happening?
Can we have maybe the more respectable title of “Questions Terrorist” or “Thought Provoking Terrorist”?

It was kind of sad. Sad that this guy didn’t know what property rights are. Of course Katie Couric is a hose beast, but that is *not* relevant. Here is what is:
* If you do want your property rights violated, then respect others property rights.
* As much as “University of Southern California” sounds like a state-owned institution, it is not and even a single google search would confirm that.
* It is not material whether USC takes federal funds for research etc. That doesn’t make them any more public then it would you if you received a Pell grant to go to college.
* Let’s not blow our credibility on issues that are cut and dry. As soon as he was asked to leave he should have simply got that on tape and left.

The mistake this guy made was forgetting that he was on private property. You have to know your rights, and this guy needs to brush up on his. If he had walked to a public street and broadcast from there they can’t do anything. Since he was asked to leave by the owners of the property, he has to comply or get arrested.
However, my question is were the two guys that put him in handcuffs security guards or policemen? If they were security guards then they have ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to put him in handcuffs. I am guessing they work for the police department on campus which would give them the ability to put him in handcuffs and detain him.

To the Magician…..Actually a security guard does have the right to handcuff and detain you if you are trespassing and do not comply with the security officers orders to leave. The problem with this situation, if they were security guards is that since they detained him, they are required to hold him until law enforcement arrives to take over. A security guard cannot detain and then release, but they most certainly can detain. This is why most of the time, as a security guard it’s best to just keep your hands off and call law enforcement.

This guy should not have been arrested, but he was obviously there to spread right winged propaganda. What Couric did wasn’t journalism? She clearly exposed Palin for being a know nothing tool for the establishment. Palin had NO IDEA what the “Bush Doctrine” was, and she was running for VP. What Couric did was TRUE journalism, I usually don’t listen to corporate media, but that interview not only had me mad as hell that someone like Palin would be raised so high on a pedestal being so inept, it also had me laughing me ass off due to her sheer stupidity. SO let me get this straight, you were mad that Palin who was a Governer and not a member of the elite was running for VP, but not upset that Obama with no experience whatsoever and a member of the elite was running for president? You fail man, clearly you’re still caught in the left right bullshit. If McCain/Palin had been elected, and McCain passed on do to his old age which is very possible, we would have had a non-Bilderberg in the white house. We actually would have had a chance at that point. A total wild card, but at least a chance. But Obama and Biden are both tools, and next runner up after that is Pelosi. Need I say more?
Furthermore, I agree that Ziegler does play to the right without a doubt, but anytime someone exposes media bias its a good thing. Because if people wake up to that, then there’s a good chance they will start looking deeper and question there own ideologies.

This was an excellent example of individuals exercising their rights… The campus security guards enforced the “private” campuses right to their private property and they did it without involving the police, thus wasting their resources, and saved this jackass from going to jail.
Most of the bill of rights specify that “government shall make no law” abridging rights… these “rights” do not necessarily apply while on private property, you have to follow the owner’s rules or leave their property.

Afraid i gotta disagree with you on this one. If I were to bend to your type of thinking then I would be placed in the position that I could be enslaved if on a person’s private property that wanted slaves. On another person’s property I would have to wield to their religion. on yet another’s person’s property I wouldn’t have freedom of speech. The list could go on forever. See where this leads, of course we do. All rights must be protected, without harming another person. When security guards and your local police are allowed to restrict those rights with no penalty, then we are in serious trouble. We know that we are well past that these days. I am especially sickened of our our law enforcement officers, as this video shows they don’t enforce laws, at least not the Supreme Law of the Land, the Constitution. In a free Republic these security officers would have cuffed and stuffed, simple as that.

You can’t put cuffs on someone by force without arresting them. Later they tell him to leave or they will arrest him? WTF? Either he was breaking a law or he was not breaking a law, which also means that those rent-a-cops were either upholding the law or breaking the law. If I see two men physically assault another man and bind his hands–and they are not police officers in the act of making a lawful arrest–I have a moral obligation, if not a civic duty, to render aid to that individual if I can. Those thugs were also armed. So am I. Do you see where I am going with this? How long do the thugs think we will just standby and watch? Keep pushing. Keep pushing . . .

I hate to say it but if the campus is designated private property, and he is not a student and has no official business then they can ask him to leave legally. They were dicks, but private property rights are very important. If you own a piece of property and someone is on it who you don’t want to be there, you have the right to boot them out. That of course assumes that the campus is indeed fully private, I don’t know if that’s the case or not.

COP B.S.101 if they offer to uncuff you and let you go,or if not go to jail, that means they have nothing on you and they want you to think their giving you a break..just so they can still have their way.do they do that with dui’s or child molesters..Hell no!! I feel Ziegler’s pain but if he was on “private property” and they did not want him to be there (for whatever political reason), then he should have repected their right to private assembly for whatever award. If that was public property, then he should go file suit against the Security Guards and the facility for hiring them and request monetary award for damages.
It is obvious someone there did not want him on the premises asking questions about Katie’s legitamacy to the journalist award. Look at the sign in front of the building. It is a Walter Kronkite award. He is a Bohemian Grove member. Duhhhh.

Once handcuffs have been applied, an arrest has been made. They can not handcuff him then tell him that he will be arrested. The deed has already been done. I know this because I have been a security guard and police officer for a very long time. Also, campus police are not police, they are licensed security guards. Once they handciff anyone, they are legally required to notify the real police that they have made an arrest so an officer can respond. What they did to John was kidnapping, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault. I sincerely hope he gets a lawyer and sues their asses.
April 17th, 2009 at 10:22 am
The mistake this guy made was forgetting that he was on private property. You have to know your rights, and this guy needs to brush up on his. If he had walked to a public street and broadcast from there they can’t do anything. Since he was asked to leave by the owners of the property, he has to comply or get arrested.
However, my question is were the two guys that put him in handcuffs security guards or policemen? If they were security guards then they have ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to put him in handcuffs. I am guessing they work for the police department on campus which would give them the ability to put him in handcuffs and detain him.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS PEOPLE. IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE YOU FROM CROOKED COPS!! Visit Copwatch for more info on knowing your rights and making sure the cops are doing what they are supposed to!!

And ROBERT — Your own ignorance is showing. The man was denied access to the event. Fine. He made no attempt to push his way in or anything else.
What he did was simply stand outside in the open (as many reporters do on that campus – I’ve seen them) and ask questions of people passing by. Whoever wants to stop and be interviewed can do so. This is called “reporting” and it is protected by our laws.
The bonehead who gave the order to harass the reporter is no different than the security man who tried to pretend 9-11 researchers were carrying bombs outside Silverstein’s building.

The filmmaker being able to excerise his First Amendment right is NOT the issue. The issue is his behavior! He was borderline obnoxious, uncooperative, and on private property. To be decent does not correlate with freedom of speech. If he was a bit more receptive and a bit more cordial on, say for instance, a public sidewalk or building, THEN it would be a another story.

This is nationwide; try Mt. Vernon, IL. Fascist little city!!! Now the latest is to pull you out of your car for having a lei, or any type of decoration in your car. They take you out of your car and frisk you, all the while insulting you. This happened to my neice after she had just lost a child a week ago. She was on the way back from the hospital when the police pulled her over for having a lei in the back window of her car. They pulled her out, frisked her, and frightened her, all for nothing. Then, they pulled her boyfriend out of the car and frisked him too, insulted him for looking “Mexican”, insulted him too, and then eluded that he must be involved in crime because he looked Mexican. He is not a Mexican and he has committed no crime. This really frightened them because they had done absolutely nothing wrong. I guess the police are on steroids now, and we all know what that does, or the steroids of mind control. Now, they have pulled over one of her friends for having a string of flowers in her car. This is our “protect and serve” police? Wow, what a crime to have a string of flowers in the car. What is next? Maybe they will just taser you and ask questions later. The latest is that if you do not have the money to pay for the ticket on the spot, they impound your car. Wow–This is definitely not America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is exactly what should happen to him. There are laws that have been upheld as constitutional from our Supreme Court over numerous years that allows for Mr. Ziegler’s removal. go read the cases and ACTUALLY understand the constitution.
If any of you have attended a university – you would understand that the campus police/security have the right to remove people from campus. Imagine the alternative – whoever the F, whenever, they want, and wherever they want can just show up. Imagine all the people that could just show up…geez. Go read some American Jurisprudence that has been constitutional upheld as our founding fathers intended by the court of final jurisdiction – the Supreme Court.
Cheers and no offense to anyone.

T’s right. I’m a little disppointed in the inclusion of this story on infowars. USC is a private university; they have every right to ask him to leave and then remove him if he fails to comply. Those cops/security guards did a good job; they didn’t tase him or use excessive force, they just did what they were being paid to legally do.
I’m not saying that I agree with the university’s decision to remove him, just that they had the right to do so.
Also, katie couric’s journalistic integrity has NOTHING to do with this story. I have exactly ZERO opinion on her, her interview of Palin (which I’ve admittedly never seen) or whether she deserved the award.
The point is that nothing illegal or unconstitutional happened here. So why report on it?

Zeigler refers to the USC Annenberg School for Communication when he asks, “Are you proud of the journalism you teach at the ANNENBERG SCHOOL?” So perhaps this incident is an accurate depiction of Annenberg’s “communication” skills…
Could this be the SAME Annenberg affiliated with FACTCHECK.ORG, the people who “verified” Obama’s Certification of Live Birth? According to Wikipedia, FACTCHECK.ORG is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the ANNENBERG SCHOOL FOR COMMUNICATION at the University of Pennsylvania and is funded by the Annenberg Foundation. However the incident in the video happened at the USC Annenberg School for Communication. So are they related? Is the Annenberg School some kind of fascist franchise spread across American campuses?

This guy is just an ass. Michael Moore is an ass, but he does leave when he is told to leave.
However, Katie Couric receiving a journalism award for interviewing a moron? Puhhhhhhhhleeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeee. Although between the two, Katie or Sarah, I would choose Sarah to share my bed.

USC is private. Would you all want someone filming a movie on your private property without permission?
Meanwhile, in other news…

How would those people who are blaming the reporter act in a situation like that? I thought it was funny when he called them on their inconsistency, “You arent a journalist, you arent the media”,, Then, “We ask the media to be in a certain place & you werent there so you are in trouble”..
I thought the guy handled himself very well. I would have had a difficult time not trying to knock those assholes out. All he was doing was asking a few questions. & on a campus that teaches journalism, no less.
yes, we live in a free society. Uh huhh, & pigs fly.

One of the things they supposedly teach at that journalism school is that citizens don’t have the right to encroach on others’ property without permission, regardless of their press affiliation.
Anyone that practices “ambush” journalism needs to be smart enough to make sure to catch their prey in public areas like sidewalks, and even Alex Jones leaves when he’s asked to because he understands that the 1st Amendment doesn’t give him the right to trespass & cause a disturbance.

Ziegler has always been extremely mocking and hostile to Alex Jones, here is one clip where he grills Ron Paul regarding 9/11, Alex Jones, and the ‘crazy’ 911 truthers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhWaqInVqbg
Ziegler likes to fancy himself as a ‘libertarian’, yet is a staunch neocon and bush supporter. he was fired from KFI radio, allegedly after insulting a more popular host john kobylt for not supporting the war in Iraq. Ziegler started a website the real kfi after that firing.
He is definitely libertarian enough to sue these pigs though, which i can guarantee he will do. stay tuned. libertyfight.com

I think you mean “dumb” enough to sue them, as he obviously has no legal basis with which to make a claim.

You should know better then to say statements like this, in California people win civil suits for less then this. Also there is video evidence as well. He will sue and he will win.

All the video evidence does is prove that he was trespassing and refused to leave when asked.

Who owns USC? “USC was founded by a Methodist horticulturist, an Irish Catholic pharmacist and a German Jewish Banker. The university is no longer affiliated with the Methodist Church, having severed formal ties in 1952.”
Could that be the same “German Jewish Banker” whose offspring now own the Federal Reserve and America?
April 19th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
Hey Mr. Ziegler, instead of behaving like an idiot on camera with campus security, you might want to get off the private property (of the fraudster bankers who hijacked America) and do an expose of who really owns all the brainwashing centers called universities.
You’re turning the issue into a pissing contest with campus rent-a-cops when the real problem is the “dog owner” – you know what I mean?
April 19th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
ziegler is an odd duck….he used to have a talk show in KFI640 am radio….
April 20th, 2009 at 3:11 am
In California all campus police for the CSU, UC system schools and USC are state level law enforcement. Their jurisdiction is actually larger then local sheriff’s and PD’s . Only problem is they didn’t follow protocol in detaining John Ziegler so expect a nice little lawsuit incoming. They should have known better.

what kind of pussy allows 2 rent a cops to hand cuff him
I would of kicked that old geezer in the nuts
and then pistol whipped the jig-a-boo with his gun

Now this guy is a conservative journalist, and while I might not agree with his politics, I cannot see that he’s doing anything wrong here. Protecting free speech isn’t just about protecting the people I agree with.
He was not invited to the event (an award ceremony for Katie Couric – awarding that hairdo for what, I have NO IDEA…), held most ironically at the Annenberg School of Journalism.
Like most conservatives, Ziegler believes Katie is a Liberal partisan advocate (which is HILARIOUS considering her fawning coverage of the Bush Administration) rather than a journalist, and wanted to ask audience members some questions about that.
Fine – he has a stupid and erroneous premise, all she really is, is just a corporate whore, but who gives a crap? We’re supposed to have Freedom of the Press, and if he wants to ask those questions of her or her audience, I have no problem with him doing so. It’s his right under the Constitution, which SHOULD apply to all of us.
He’s outside the venue after apparently being denied access to it, and was doing stand up commentary with his camera guy in front of the building at the time officers approached him. He’s not violent, not blocking traffic. He’s not even being misbehaved or rude the way Faux News “journalists” do when they stalk random people and jump them on the street with their fake outrage questions.
I didn’t like it when they pulled this Gestapo crap with Amy Goodman, a Liberal journalist, during the Republican Convention on a public street, and I don’t like it any more when they do it to a conservative reporter either.
And universities in particular – even if they are private – are generally regarded by most people as a commonly understood sort of “mixed space” anyways, where public protests, adversarial discussions, and the free range of ideas are ENCOURAGED, not stifled. In a civilized society, it is NOTHING SHORT OF VITAL that freedom of speech is RIGOROUSLY maintained on the campuses of our “palaces of learning”.
Note as well that the rent-a-cops themselves consider him to be media when they want to “contain him in a particular area” but state he’s not “official media” when they wish to detain him. Which is it?
One problem I have with this is that “who is a journalist and who isn’t” is apparently decided not by the journalists themselves, but by the powerful who decide “Oh you’re a journalist just as long as you work for a sufficiently larger corporation that WE decide to recognize.”
Another of the principle problems is that many “enforcers” of the law are also largely ignorant of it’s most critical Constitutional provisions.
So this entire incident is rife with stupidity on many levels.

The campus police and officials probably should have taken the more tolerant route and just ignored him provided he stayed outside the building and didn’t harass anyone. HOWEVER… it is private property and they did have the right to ask him to leave if they chose. If Ziegler didn’t have the common sense to leave private property when university officials asked, then he deserves to be arrested… if someone trespassed on my property and wouldn’t leave I’d call the cops too. And his stupid antics while handcuffed (writhing around, dropping to the ground, etc) showed he was just being a drama whore. And showing the handcuff marks on his wrist… I honestly laughed at the absurdity. Ziegler is obviously a whiny little punk and knows nothing of abusive treatment by law enforcement. Claiming this as ‘abusive’ takes away from the actual abuses and injustices happening in the world. Perhaps what he really needs is a ‘Holiday in Cambodia’

Look as far as I am concern I think cops are just puppets to the Nwo law enforcement agencies cause on April 23th I was attacked by some fucking teens with pepper spray cause they litter and were having a crowd in front of my appartment building and all I did was to tell them to get the fuck away cause they were on private proprity so if you non believers still believe that justice is applicable let’s just say that I would trully like to see the kid go to jail for make me lose an eye which is what the cops shoulda have done but haven’t cause I’m a adult and I had no rights to intervene
