Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices – 545 human beings out of the 235 million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all but the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislation’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

    A CONFIDENCE CONSPIRACY

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Don’t you see how the con game that is played on the people by the politicians? Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of Tip O’Neill, who stood up and criticized Ronald Reagan for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating appropriations and taxes.

O’neill is the speaker of the House. He is the leader of the majority party. He and his fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetos it, they can pass it over his veto.

    REPLACE SCOUNDRELS

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 235 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can’t think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in Lebanon, it’s because they want them in Lebanon.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take it.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone are responsible. They and they alone have the power. They and they alone should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses – provided they have the gumption to manage their own employees.

Memories selectively, safely erased in mice

New and old memories have been selectively and safely removed from mice by scientists.

“While memories are great teachers and obviously crucial for survival and adaptation, selectively removing incapacitating memories, such as traumatic war memories or an unwanted fear, could help many people live better lives,” says Dr. Joe Z. Tsien, brain scientist and co-director of the Brain & Behavior Discovery Institute at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine.

“Our work reveals a molecular mechanism of how that can be done quickly and without doing damage to brain cells,” says the Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Cognitive and Systems Neurobiology.

According to a press release issued by EurekAlert, Dr. Tsien’s research team, in collaboration with scientists at East China Normal University in Shanghai, were able to eliminate new and old memories alike by over-expressing a protein critical to brain cell communication just as the memory was recalled, according to research featured on the cover of the Oct. 23 issue of Neuron.

Dr. Tsien had already created a mouse that couldn’t form memories by eliminating the NMDA receptor, which receives messages from other neurons. He then garnered international acclaim by making “Doogie,” a smart mouse in which a subunit of the NMDA receptor is over-expressed. Younger brains have higher amounts of this NR2B subunit which leaves communication channels between brain cells open longer. That is why young people can learn faster than older adults.

This time he was examining downstream cascades of the NMDA receptor to learn more about memory formation. An abundant protein found only in the brain, called aCaMKII, was a logical place to look because it’s a major signaling molecule for the NMDA receptor. He found that when he over-expressed aCaMKII while a memory was being recalled, that single memory was eliminated.

Receptors such as the NMDA receptor are like front doors to cells, providing an opening for signaling molecules such as calcium. Synapses are the point of communication between two cells, and NMDA receptors are on the receiving end of the message. Like people, neurons change with the signals they receive. “Learning changes the way cells connect to each other,” says Dr. Tsien. To form a memory, the NMDA receptor is activated, which results in the insertion of AMPA receptors into those synapses and subsequent strengthening of the synaptic connections among hundreds of thousands of neurons. Scientists believe that aCaMKII plays an important role in the insertion of AMPA receptors into synapses during learning and subsequent strengthening of connections between neurons to create a memory.

Memory has four distinct stages: learning, consolidation, storage and recall. It has been difficult to dissect the molecular mechanisms of these stages because researchers lacked techniques to manipulate proteins quickly. For example, when researchers disable a gene suspected to play a role in the memory process, the deletion typically occurred throughout the entire period so it was impossible to tell which parts of processes were impaired. Previous technology would take several days to switch off a protein, which is the product of a gene.

So Dr. Tsien’s team developed a powerful chemical-genetic method that allows him to use a pharmacologic inhibitor to instantly turn aCaMKII off and on in a mouse that he genetically engineered to over express this signaling molecule. That enabled him to study exactly what happened if he threw off the natural balance during the retrieval stage.

Much as a war veteran remembers a fateful patrol when he was fired upon, mice can establish a very long-lasting emotional memory about a place if, for example, they receive a mild shock to the paws while there. The researchers showed if they over-expressed aCaMKII, this powerful memory was rapidly erased as the animals tried to retrieve them while other memories remained intact.

A similar approach was taken with object recognition memory, giving mice a couple of toys to play with then erasing their memory of one of them. “You will feel like every time, it’s a new toy,” says Dr. Tsien.

While the ability to rapidly erase a selective memory is exciting, he cautions that its translation to humans would be difficult at this stage. “We are barely at the foot of a huge mountain,” says Dr. Tsien. A possible strategy for humans would be a drug that mimics the aCaMKII over expression that researchers accomplished through genetic manipulation. Or, further downstream substrates that aCaMKII acts upon could become possible drug targets.

How much rope would that be???? Charley I’ve been saying that for years!!!! Some of you out there really need to get on board…hard to say what’s coming next but most us have some semblance of what is possible!!! They’ll probably take just a small W-57 warhead and smoke some federal building(s)!!! Are we fucked yet??? Don’t know. “All ‘HAIL’ Thermal Expansion!!!”

    5. John Says:

You’re forgetting that our country is beholden to all the bond holders, the world over. If Congress and the President don’t listen to these powerful forces, they could pull their money out of our economy and place us in a deep depression. That’s what our government is afraid of: massive revolt from the people of this country. What’s going on now is that the rest of the world is starting not to trust our government and they are wary of trading with us. This is due to how much their countries have suffered through this tumult in the market. They’re probably wondering if they should be this close to the U.S. or should they start investing elsewhere. Remember, wealth is not destroyed as the Main Stream Media would want you to believe. It is only transferred! I think what our government, especially the private Federal Reserve, are finding out is that they actually don’t have any control over the market when it comes to jump-starting it. It seems that they only have the power to suppress a great market.

    6. JASMINE Says:

      welll. who are they? Names?

    16. RC Says:

No +heDe@dM3ss3ng3r, you were right the first time. He spells it out for inattentive readers in the fourth paragraph.

“One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices – 545 human beings out of the 235 million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.”

    17. Ian Scott Bally Says:

This is a great article. 545 people that should all be fired! Save two off the top of my head, and that’s Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

    18. Sid V Says:

Sacagawea golden dollars a product of the U.S. Mint, made of copper, and in “legal tender” circulation. I know it’s no gold standard but it’s copper and that’s worth more than paper for the same unit of currency. if our gov’t wants to print more money create more inflation then lets start BUYING back commodities like copper coins, real money, minted from them that we can use or trade for its copper value when the dollar is done.
Dump the Fed Dollar Use the Golden Dollar
      LIVE FREE OR DIE

    19. Dumb Downed Student Says:

We need Chuck Norris to kick 95% of their asses!

    20. M Kitchen Says:

Remember: Chuck Norris offered to help!

    21. sunny Says:

sorry charlie but how dare you include ron paul in this scandal???

    22. Dean Says:

The thing that I don’t understand is this: there’s 235 million of us and 545 of them ( 235,000,000 against 545 ) . And yet they still stay in power. So I have to ask myself why? The first thing that comes to mind is money. So let’s take that problem first. If you are running for president you are only allowed to spend $1 million dollars. If you spend more then that your out of the race. Not to mention it would keep them from rapping my ear for six months. If your running for office in your own state then your not allowed to spend any more then say $100,000. If your running for a seat on the city council then you can’t spend any more then $1000. And all media stations covering the election must give every runner equal time on the air. If any station breaks this rule then the pay a fine of say $50 million dollars which will go to bring down the national debt. Of course there’s a lot of fine tuning to do on this. This is just off the top of my head. But what ever you do don’t sit there and tell me that this is a S&*ty idea. Why don’t you put your idea out there. or improve on this one. Stop your bitching and start thinking of a solution. Remember. The best ideas don’t come from just one person but lots of people working on one idea.

    23. the Federal Reserve is the problem Says:

#23 – i think the cap for an election should be zero dollars. the campaign should not be based on money but rather on finding the talent who’s fit for the presidency. an election process should be similar to a tournament. over the course of 1 year the candidates should be slowly weeded out thru honorable debates. anybody over the age of 35 can try out. similar to a “tryout” for a baseball team.

for example, let’s say 35,000 americans decide they want a chance to be president. the debates begin and everybody gets a chance to be on a stage, competing against each other. dwindle that 35,000 down to the “Elite Eight” over the course of 11 months and then the final month the people vote on which of the 8 candidates should be the president. no advertising is allowed!!! the only thing people will know about the candidates is what they see at the debates on TV.
every nite for a half hour “meet the candidates” could be on a major tv station during the election year.

    24. bohemiangrooves Says:

holy snapper HENRIK, that memory erasing piece is crazy. I looked it up after and yep, there it is in scientific journals. A Brave New World, here we come!

    25. Chuckles86 Says:

I do believe 1 congressman by the name of RON PAUL fought against this and should therefore be excluded from the list. Dr. Paul is just one of many who are included that opposed the events set in place that led to this crisis. I suggest you put more time into your list, sift out those like Dr. Paul, and include names of those whom supported unconstitutional legislation. A black list i might say. It would come in handy if the people ever so desired a revolution. A revolution today would not be the people against a standing army. It would be the people against an elite few, dethroneing them from power and placeing wiser, more constitution abidding representatives in their place. Just a thought for the road.

    26. Think About It Says:

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!! We get the government we deserve. America turned to shit when the morals of the American people turned to shit! We have been in the shitter too long to turn it around. We are toast, and it will be burned toast. We have to look no further than the closest mirror to understand why America is screwed!

    27. chadlen Says:

i just heard that passionate caller ‘Herbert’ say that he wanted to be just like Alex! it was great.
      It was a nice moment.
just thought i’d type that out.

    28. Graft Says:

lets not forget all the mayors and governors

    29. John Galt Says:

The article is absolutely right. The answer is arrest hem try them for treason. The hand full of honorable men, such as Ron Paul will be dismissed. The rest, well. 545 X 25″ft = 13625 ft. of rope. Unless we want to use one piece 535 times. Mayors and Governors and Judges in the States are a different subject.

    30. John Galt Says:

#29 Fudge!!!! Have you bumped your head man. These bastards sold us out. Political, intellectual prostitutes. Robbing OUR nation and making us surfs. Screw them.

    31. Big Dave Says:

      Ron Paul
      Dennis Kucinich
      Bob Barr
      Willie Nelson
      Kinky Friedman
      Jessie Ventura
      Glen Beck
      Alex Jones
      Brigadier General Rodney L. Johnson
      Michael Moore

Just a few real “Patriots” who are willing to tell the truth despite the consequences they may incur for doing so. Beware the “Cult of Personality”, Beware of New World Order”, Beware the smokescreens and all “Hatemongers”. Be not of this world. What Would Jesus Do?

    32. CJ Says:

I was with you #33, right up until you grouped Ron Paul with Michael Moore.

There are some honorable men, and I think Ron Paul is the most honorable one out of all of them. And the bottom line is that we’re stuck with “politicians”…

      What happened to:

      STATESMEN

That’s what they were called when they performed an honorable service to the country.

    33. dave Says:

      #33
i know jesus would tell michael moore to fuck off

    34. rjs Says:

The problem with this article is that the answer has been known for generations.
How can you resolve the situation when those 545 people will not leave voluntarily
and the seats are continually being sat in by the likes of whom left?

Look, it’s simple, it’s called corruption and you and I are not allowed to sit in those
seats and do anything tangible. Ask Ron Paul.

I agree, they all need replaced by the common people in America. The problem is that
the corporations that own this country have things the way they want it. They own this
      country and everyone in it.

You are not saying anything we don’t don’t already know. Why don’t you explain to all of us
exactly how to get rid of all those people and how you and I can take a couple of those seats?

    35. Big Dave Says:

Lets remember the truth is seldom recieved with open arms and as for Michal Moore, Love him or hate him at least he tries to tell the truth even if it infuriates those who disagrees with his position. As for you #35, Jesus would recieve you with open arms just like he would Michael Moore even if you did just distort his teachings with that comment. Jesus Loves!!

    36. peter paul Says:

    38. deagla Says:

if i lived in America and had a gun……i’d go shoot a politician just to make a change..whynot you? It’s the only true way to shake things up in the system!

    39. Ethan Says:

I live in America AND have guns. The thing is deagla that it doesn’t take a gun to kill, it only takes a murderer. And while I believe it is our duty as Americans to be at all times armed AND I hate what I consider to be corrupt and wicked politicians – we are decent and honorable men and women. We have families to think of – they will have to be severely effected in order to make us into animals. See Also… (freedom fighters ie. terrorists). Until then we’ll just have to work for a restoration of our Republic peaceably, with loud voices and civil disobedience. The system is already burning itself out.

    40. Doctor of the English Language Says:

People that write long comments need to start using paragraphs. I pass over and do not even attempt to read any comments that are more than 4 lines with no paragraph spaces. No matter how good your statement may be I will just go to the next comment. Learn to write the correct way.

Same goes for any religious statements. As soon as you start quoting scripture, you lost me as a reader. I do not care if you are religious or not, try to write comments that would appeal to everyone or else you are just talking to a percentage of the people reading, instead of everyone.

Just my thoughts. I am sure I am not alone on this one.

By the way, I will be posting this on multiple articles over multiple days or even weeks. If you do not like it, tough shits. If they do not appear regularly, then I have been censored.

Any flamers can direct their comments to the nearest brick wall.

Oh, and as of right now, 10:18 p.m. cst. I am posting this in every recent article that is on this site…let’s see how many do not appear…hmmm.

    41. Sherlock 008 Says:

I would generally say flush all the incumbents if yours are truly scum bags so they don’t get entrenched any deeper. Chambliss and Isaakson are turning out to be okay dudes though. It’s John Lewis…yeah the same one who marched with MLK and Jesse in the 60’s…totally far left welfare state as anyone can get and I mean beyond reason too. I think he’s doing it for his image in history. Lewis has had the Atlanta District for decades and no one runs against him. The City Counsel is a dying row of old civil rights activists hanging on to a tight clique and I say it’s lame. To me, it’s another reason for us to beat the drums about term limits.

    42. bincebance Says:

They also make a lot of money off the suffering they create. Did Dante’s Inferno include politicians?

    43. TooMuch Says:

It’s time to list names and start kicking butts. If the people were convinced to try life without the Federal reserve again, watch how the federal reserve would tremble.

    47. ALBIGENSIAN Says:

say’s everything quite nicely, funny how they’re never held accountable for thier cockups thier unfairness and the fiascos they create on a daily basis.

it’s the same in your country as it is here in england and all over the globe.

it’s way past time the ppl of the world held our goverments and those behind them accountable for what they have done and are doing and punish them accordingly, afterwhich i believe the surveylance systems they have imposed and intend to force upon us be turned upon all those who whish to serve thier country as a politician.

this way we could ensure this habitual disgracefull behaviour can be prevented, at least they’d have the chioce, as if they truely and honestly want and believe they can help thier respective countries they’d have to accept they’ll be watched 24/7 and be unable to corrupt the system for thier own greed and power.

    48. john Says:

where are your freedom fighters? it was said that one day will take over take the american govt. these are ex military, seals, navy, etc, with lots of weapons that can sustane and take over. what are they waiting for?

    49. neuronet Says:

Yes, and how many Obama kool-aid drinkers are going to recognize their beloved messiah as one of them?

    50. KeithinCapitola Says:

Forget recalling the 545 people who are responsible for all of our problems. Unless we first recall them and have them thrown into prison and that everything they ever owned and repay the Americans citzens that they ripped off. Name one polition that has ever stood up for America, except Ron Paul and many a couple more, and have done exactly what they said they were going to do and then have done so their whole political career. We really need to start a campaign to have ALL those responsible thrown into prison for their treasonous acts. They knew what they’re doing. Like Alan greenspan playing stupid no matter how good doesn’t excuse them for what they’ve done to this country. And we’ll never be the same and there’s no coming out of this one.

    51. Raymond Swartz Says:

I believe its all of OUR faults. We decided not to check our mayors, governors, or senators or even get to know them. God help us all.
