At issue is not whether this young lady was holding a flower ( looking peaceful) or not, the issue is that she was not complying with officers orders to retreat. She was the only non-camera person who had not followed these orders within this video. She obviously knew that she ran the risk of being sprayed because she was wearing sunglasses and holding her bandana to her face with her other hand. Who cares if she got sprayed? She is just a dumb hippie that has nothing better to do than protest for the sake of protesting.

April 21, 2008Obama’s Weathermen – Explosive Past, Radical Forecast
Sen. Barack Hussein Obama was asked during a televised debate about his links to a former member of the Vietnam-era militant Weather Underground organization, Bill Ayers, who is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Weather Underground Organization, was a violent U.S. radical left group formed in 1969 by leaders and members who split from the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). They took their name from a lyric in the Bob Dylan song “Subterranean Homesick Blues”,”You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows,” which they used as the title of a position paper they distributed at an SDS convention in Chicago on June 18th, 1969, as part of a special edition of New Left Notes.
According to his memoir, Ayers became radicalized at the University of Michigan where he became involved in the New Left and the Students for a Democratic Society.
Ayers joined the Weatherman group in 1969, but went underground with several associates after the Greenwich Village townhouse explosion in 1970, in which three members (Ted Gold, Terry Robbins, and Diana Oughton, who was Ayers’s girlfriend at the time) were killed while constructing a bomb. The group planned to bomb Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey.
From 1969 until 1975 the group carried out a domestic campaign that included bombing the Pentagon, the US Capitol, police facilities and banks. At least one police officer died and several injured.
In 1981, Weathermen and members of the militant group the Black Liberation Army robbed an armored car in New York state, killing two police officers and a guard in a shootout before being arrested.
Ayers’s interviewed with the New York Times about his book, Fugitive Days: A Memoir, on September 11, 2001, and opens with his statement:
“I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.”
Ayers later explained that by “no regrets” he meant that he didn’t regret his efforts to oppose the Vietnam War, and that “we didn’t do enough” meant that efforts to stop the war were obviously inadequate as it dragged on for a decade; the two statements were not intended to elide into a wish they had set more bombs.
Ayers avoided jail because of prosecutorial misconduct during the long search for the fugitives of SDS, the Weathermen and other radical, anti-war groups. Much like Mr. Obama, Professor Ayers feels he is misunderstood, and much like Barack Obama this statement only comes out once he is exposed.
Professor Ayers has never retracted his statement to the New York Times and to this day claims to:
“have never advocated terrorism, never participated in it, never defended it. The U.S. government, by contrast, does it routinely and defends the use of it in its own cause consistently.”
Setting bombs in the US isn’t terrorism but liberating a country and fighting Islamic terrorist requires anti-war rhetoric. It’s funny how the radical left sorts fact from fiction and advocates peace.
In 1997, Mr. Obama cited Mr. Ayers’ work on criminal justice in a Chicago Tribune article on what prominent Chicagoans were reading. For a year after the infamous comments in the New York Times, Mr. Obama served with Mr. Ayers on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago and had appeared on various panels together.
Mr. Obama won’t discuss how he came to know Mr. Ayers, why he chose to associate with him and what he thinks of his current opinions about the US government.
Ayers wife and former Weathermen colleague, Bernardine Dohrn, has feelings of America that might remind us of other radicals Mr. Obama associates with.

Tony Rezko:
Barack Obama worked rom 1993 to 2002, with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, Rezko’s first major officeholder patron and a law firm representing Rezko, Rezmar, and community groups in partnership with Rezmar, that helped Rezmar get more than $43 million in government funding. The firm’s then senior partner, Allison S. Davis, was a member of the Chicago Plan Commission and went into business with Rezko.
On July 31, 1995 the first ever political contributions to Obama were $300 from a lawyer, a $5,000 loan from a car dealer, and $2,000 from two food companies owned by Rezko.
Starting in 2003 Rezko was on Obama’s U.S. Senate campaign finance committee, which raised more than $14 million. Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama, and that fundraiser was instrumental in providing Obama with seed money for his U.S. Senate race. Obama has since identified over $250,000 in campaign contributions to various Obama campaigns as coming from Rezko or close associates, and has in consequence donated almost two thirds of that amount to charity.
In 2005 Obama purchased a new home in the Kenwood District of Chicago for $1.65M ($300,000 below the original price) on the same day that Tony Rezko’s wife, Rita Rezko, purchased the adjoining empty lot from the same sellers for the full asking price.
Rezko was under federal investigation for influence-peddling, before Obama bought a 10 foot (3.0 m) wide strip of Ms. Rezko’s property for $104,500, $60,000 above the assessed value, in 2006.
In June 2007, the Chicago Sun-Times published a story about letters Obama had written in 1997 to city and state officials in support of a low-income senior citizen development project headed by Rezko and partner Allison Davis. The project received more than $14 million in taxpayer funds, including $885,000 in development fees for Rezko and Davis.
Rashid Khalidi:
In 2000, Rashid Khalidi, a former PLO operative who justified Palestinian terrorism as contributing to “political enlightenment,” threw a fundraiser for his friend Barack Obama.
Rashid Khalidi today is a professor at Columbia University and is a close associate of Barack Obama. Before getting his job at Columbia University Rashid Khalidi was a Middle East professor at the University of Chicago, where he befriended Barack Hussein Obama.
In 2000 Khalidi held a successful fundraiser for Mr. Obama.
On Palestinian violence Khalidi glorifies anti-Israel violence as contributing to “political enlightenment”[vii] and unsurprisingly admires those who carry it out.
A top official at the Pentagon during former President George H. W. Bush’s Administration and a former CIA intelligence officer maintains that Barack Obama and former Weather Underground honcho William Ayers funneled money to Professor Khalidi.
Khalidi serves on the faculty of Columbia University in New York and is best known as the professor who invited Iranian President Ahmedinejad to visit Columbia University after he finished his speech at the United Nations.
As director of the Woods Fund board in Chicago Barack Obama granted Khalidi’s controversial anti-Israel group the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, $40,000 in 2001 and $35,000 in 2002.
At a special farewell dinner for Khalidi in 2003 then Illinois Senator Barack Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi’s wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.
His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,” but around “this entire world.” (LA Times)
Bill Ayers:
Professor Ayers lived in the same Chicago neighborhood Obama did, had donated $200 to Obama’s 2001 state senate campaign.
In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
“I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers’ house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress,” said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the informal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. “[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor.” Obama and Palmer “were both there,” he said.
“Ayers was a terrorist. Bernardine Dohrn was a terrorist. Ayers has never offered one word of apology — he glories in it, thinks it’s terrific. And that to me is not what I would call acceptable or mainstream behavior,” said Dan Polsby, a former law professor at Northwestern who is now dean of George Mason University Law School. “If Obama takes a different view on that — well, OK, that’s data about Obama.”
“When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn,” Maria Warren wrote on her blog in 2005.
“They were launching him — introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.”
When contacted the various Hyde Park Liberals will not make further comments about any meetings between Ayers, Dohrn and other activists only expressing concern that Republicans would use accounts of the event for “left-baiting.” Remarkably, the Leftist crowd now considers Obama a bit too “conservative” for their liking.
We must realize that on the surface Obama and Ayers had “limited” contact but when we put the Obama associations together and his willingness to “talk” with terrorist regimes around the world we see a pattern.
In the 1960s, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn saw themselves as urban guerrillas who just might be able to overthrow the US government and force an end to the Vietnam War. They were members of the Weather Underground, a radical offshoot of the antiwar movement, who went into hiding for a decade after a bomb accidentally exploded, killing three members of the group. Ayers was a son of privilege — his father was the chairman of the utility Commonwealth Edison — who decided in the late 1960s that violence was needed to transform the country. After he disappeared, he was charged with joining the bombing conspiracy and with crossing state lines to incite a riot.
Are we to suddenly dismiss the past of Ayers and his wife because of time and connecting dots to Barack Obama? Many would like to present the case that this is old news but the erstwhile radicals are not repentant. Liberals use the term, “social justice” and “mainstream liberal good works” to reconcile the differences of past and present, terrorism and good social activism.
Ayers and Dohrn turned themselves in shortly after their second son was born. They raised Chesa Boudin, the son of Weather Underground parents imprisoned for a 1981 Brink’s robbery that left three dead. Boudin won a Rhodes Scholarship in 2002.
Dohrn pleaded guilty to a state charge and later served seven months for refusing to give a handwriting sample to federal authorities. She told a reporter that the FBI already had a sample, and that she considered grand juries “illegal and coercive.” Today Dohrn is a professor of law at the prestigious Northwestern University.
When Obama was asked about Ayers during Wednesday’s debate, he described him as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” He said he does not exchange ideas with him “on a regular basis.” How about on an irregular basis or are we back into Obama denial.
“The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense,” Obama answered in his most recent debate.
How old was Obama when Hamas was established, the Mullahs took over Iran, North Korea became an oppressive Communist state and Syria became home to Hezzbollah?
Does this now make a difference? Does Mr. Obama feel his past is not to be questioned, not be analyzed; he is not to be vetted?
Associations become a sum of the total parts of a person and Mr. Obama has links to some very disturbing people. Suddenly the public is asking too many questions and queries to the “colleagues” are not answered.
Obama noted that President Bill Clinton had commuted the prison terms of Weather Underground members Susan L. Rosenberg, arrested with 740 pounds of dynamite and weapons, and Linda Sue Evans, convicted of participating in eight bombings, including the one at the Capitol. Does this make the crime more palatable to Mr. Obama? Bill Clinton commuted sentences and pardoned a host of sordid individual on a pace that set a record for last minute Presidential pardons. Does that erase the crimes?
Obama’s association with Ayers is small but I don’t believe trivial. Once again, Obama has associations with a host of radicals with current and past anti-American beliefs. Mr. Obama has effectively avoided intense scrutiny but the party election isn’t over and Mr. Obama must come clean, which we doubt he can.
Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell
George Stephanopoulos and Charlie Gibson of ABC News weren’t just criticized for their tough questioning of Barack Obama during last week’s Democratic debate. They were flayed, writes John Fund.
According to liberal journalists, all these topics are irrelevant. Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo said they were “frivolous items . . . that presumed the correctness of Republican agenda items.” Mr. Obama agreed, dismissing the items brought up by ABC as “manufactured issues.”
John Harris and Jim VandeHei of Politico.com conclude that the heat directed at ABC News over its debate:
“is the clearest evidence yet that the Clintonites are fundamentally correct in their complaint that [their candidate] has been flying throughout this campaign into a headwind of media favoritism for Obama.”
Mr. Fund continues:
But Mr. Obama, who sports the most liberal voting record of any senator according to the nonpartisan National Journal, has avoided much criticism of that record by implying that any conventional critique of his issue positions represent the tired politics of the past. If he had his way, questions about character and questions about issues would be off-limits.
Obama really needs to recalibrate his sense of moral equivalence. Obama again demonstrated his utter unwillingness to risk giving offense to his own side by pairing off an unrepentant Weatherman bomber with a US Senator; evidently he has run over relatives and is reduced to pitching friends under the bus. Indeed!

Flower Girl just wasn’t getting out of the way of the line of robosuited crowd control cops on the march.
These guys in black go to the trouble to get all suited up in very uncomfortable body armor, and
helmets and gas masks and riot batons. Believe me wearing a gas mask is hot, uncomfortable, claustrophobic. These cops want to believe that they are looking intimadating, all powerful and are in
control.
When Flower Girl does not feel the power of the men in black and get out of the way… it just insults these
guys, gets them aggravated, and the robocrowdcontrol cops just want to dominate their area of where they
are marching, and push people back. Giving flowers to these guys as a show of love and peace only fuels
the power ambitions of these guys with batons, and pepper spray who are ordered to move people out.
They look on it as weak and feeble…they sprayed her, and didn’t wack her on the shins with their batons.
Flower Girl could have hurt alot worse.
Once you suit up these guys in their uniforms, they are on, and play the part, or a commander will be all
over their ass for not following practiced formations and procedures, as well as getting taunted and insulted by their fellow robo’s.
For the camera it’s a nice hippy dippy thing to do, and makes a striking contrast in a photo, but in REAL Life, just get out the way next time. These robocrowdcontrol cops work as a platoon, not individuals, and

Ok, I can maybe understand the first spray. Don’t agree with it, but maybe, sorta, possibly, could probably say that the first spray was to get her to move out of the way or something. But I can find no excuse for the second spray to the back of her head while she was walking away.

Bad enough what they did, but then as she is walking away, getting away, another one sprays her again just for the hell of it.
The chinese are rising up against their abusers, knowing they will likely be killed. They see that even if they lose their life, they have done the right thing for the rest of their countrymen. We are too worried about jail and losing our car and don’t seem to care what we leave behind for the kids to live with when they are old.
It would be nice to see someone pepper-sprayed turn and at least get a couple of good smacks on the loser officer. Yeah, they would get an assault charge even though they were attacked first, as law can now do anything they want to us, butmaybe if it was some 14 year-old he would only get a minor’s conviction and that wouldn’t be so bad. What are we going to do? Just keep letting them get by with more and more until we are all in camps? If we are gong there anyway, they might as well get a fight on their hands as we go. Since so many people want to know what to do, when is the gunfighting going to start, or just claim what they would do if such and such a situation ever happened to them or one of their own, maybe all those capable should find out where Alex Jones, Ron Paul, Jessie Ventura, and many of the other patriots who Alex has interviewed are and follow them around all day long giving them body guard services.
Now, obviously the enemy will eventually start something that will start a shoot out, but the defense will obviously be a glorious one that will go down in history as the first shot of the real revolution, the day when the battle cry started from the masses, not just the few. The enemy of course has the high tech weapondry and the tanks and aircraft, but it will be an organized effort on the part of the ones who are serious and capable of doing something for the first time as the question constantly arises about everyone organizing somehow to do something useful for the cause of stopping this police state we are now in.
Ones like Alex, Dr. Paul, and Jessie Ventura are alone in a sense. They are lone wolves. They are loners. They are the ones who are presently out on the front line. So why not start an organized effort yourselves to be with those loners on the front line while you can? Go help those on the front line already, bodily help that is, not just writing here or buying some of their books. Physically they have no protection, even if they have private body guards. Those who are capable of doing what I just suggested now become publically involved and the front liners are the ones who need it most giving them the backing they need for their very lives that they do not have presently. I am sure that someone here can now expand on this to make it work. Yes?

My door blew open one day while at work no one was home, the neighbors called the police, the cop came in and searched my house, he found a gun in the mattress and called cps. Cps said it was nothing and apologized for harassing me, I have no criminal record and a god job and I live in a good neighborhood he had no reason to view me as a criminal, he was trying as hard as he could to get me for something. The cops are doing everything they can to get 300 million people to hate them, they better be sure this is what they want. I for one wouldn’t do anything to help a cop they have effectively made me their enemy.

Cut the snorkel 1/2 down and attach the hose to it. Then route the hose around your back and down, where it will not be sucking air from the shot to the face with the pepper gas, inside your back pack even. On the end of the hose, you can put whatever type of filter you want. I’m sure there is plenty of different filter types in the automotive section, lots of cars came with different charcoal canisters you could use on the end. They should be light enough to just hang on you back, under your shirt or in a backpack.

I agree with you John. It is obvious that they, for whatever reason, were trying to move the crowd back or in a certain direction and she was impeding this. Note: if you want to go protest at whatever function, go ahead, but when the cops start trying to move you and your group in a certain direction and you are holding up their progress, expect this to happen.

Sickening. It’s a nice way for men who are really insecure about the size of their wee-wee to feel powerful – by pepper spraying a completely non-threatening woman repeatedly with pepper spray in the face. All they had to do is walk around her, but then again, men who are so insecure about the size of their wee-wees try way too hard to overcompensate for their deep-seated feelings of inadequacy. I have noticed that oftentimes people refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. Example, someone speeding to the store to buy a pack of cigarettes gets pulled over and issued a summons. You might hear him say ‘man I got a ticket for trying to buy cigarettes.’ No, you didnt. You got a ticket for speeding. Example, a young man in a known drug/gang neighborhood is stopped and questioned by police late at night. He refuses to comply and instead makes sudden movements while yelling at the officers. In one of these sudden movements he puts his hand inside his coat and pulls out his cellphone or wallet very quickly. The man gets tazed/pepper-sprayed/shot. Later he is overheard to say ‘man, I got tased/sprayed/shot for showing them my wallet.’ No you didnt. You got tased/sprayed/shot for mimicking actions that resemble resisting and going for a weapon. People need to relax. Officers are trained to constantly perform counter measures to save their own lives. Sometimes this involves the use of force. I would rather spray an innocent suspect than hesitate and be hurt or killed. The woman in the video obviously refused to move out of the path of the police officers. A normal person would not do this. So the officer has to ask himself ‘why doesn’t she move? Does she have a weapon? Is she refusing to comply so that she can attack one of us?’
The fact is that her actions caused her to be sprayed. She should have stepped to the side or simply moved out of the way. I am sure she will be overheard later saying ‘man I got sprayed for handing out flowers.’

appalling. But she succeeded in demonstrating the ham-fisted application of force, at least. As my dad once told me, there’s a very fine line between being a cop and being a criminal – they both get off on wielding power over others. The militarization of the police force, as the most messed up of our young people return from total anarchy in the warzones, where torture and degradation of local civilians is commonplace, isn’t helping either.
Lack of accountability is what makes this possible. How about a federal amendment making it illegal to keep anyone from filming police, ever, and mandate names and ID numbers be prominently displayed in block letters on all police uniforms?

Why are protesters going to a possible face off with riot police unprepared for a conflict they know is probable? Look at how the cops are dressed with padding, helmets and pepper spray. Protesters in shorts and dresses and wildflowers…looks like an easy target to the idot in riot gear. They like preying on the innocent and poorly prepared its great practice for them. The reason the liberty movement will never go anywhere is because people are too caught up in stupid crap to talk about the issue. I’ve been through about a hundred of these postings, and there’s maybe 10 intelligent or relevant comments. This could be a productive dialogue about why she was sprayed, what she could have done to avoid it, the ups and downs of standing your ground, the law of his actions, etc. Instead it’s a conversation between kids about how fat she is (really? she looks normal to me) and people being inbreds, and wishing cops would die.
We’re losing productive time that we could be communicating about something that matters… Even aside from the trollers, maybe ten percent of the people have anything intelligent or thought provoking to say.

#231 Texas Tea, It does seem futile to be standing up against police in riot gear. However, does anyone else agree that if the protestors were standing their in full riot gear that it would have only escalated the situation? I wasnt able to find anything, but I’d love it if someone could help post clarification on typical force laws. I was told by a cop friend years ago that police are authorized to use one level above whatever the person of interest has. i.e, if they are fighting with their fists, cops can use their batton, if they have a baseball bat, they can bring out the pepper spray, if they have a knife the cop can draw their gun. If they were there in full gear, the police would have been aggressive from the start to “nip it in the bud” so to speak.
So the question I guess, is – isn’t it possible for protestors to actually make it worse for themselves if they are dressed in protective gear? Wouldnt they just make it very obvious that they were there with the understanding that things could get violent. It seems like that would just bring a swifter sweep of the street – because the cops may be concerned about violent outbreak.

This is just another prime example of how dumbed down the police have become through their training methods of “shoot to kill” and other methods of training that make it impossible for the police force to have any respect for citizens. These are the people that are supposed to be protecting the people, serving the people, and here they are pepper spraying this lady in the face without just cause. That cop needs to be made an example of. Don’t blame the lady for going to a rally or protest and not wearing goggles. Call the police force and tell them you watched a video and you want something done about it.

It’s really simple, when the police line is moving, get out of the way. She was attempting to impede the progress of a police line.
Her reaction is not the reaction of a person getting ‘pepper spray’ in the face. Unless she is ‘drugged up’, ’self medicated’.

What she is doing is accomplishing? Absolutely nothing.
Just another person without a cause trying to get media attention – big deal. None of their stupid antics (and I live in St Paul, so I saw MANY) managed to stop or even slow down the convention. They did not get the attention of the candidates – they were treated like the mosquitos that we are used to slapping around up here.
And I am not a repbulican – I just typed in a name off the top of my head – and I thought this one would get some attention..and it did!

You know she may have been trying to get attention. But HELLO!! Isn’t that the point. However I don’t understand why they were moving forward and why they have all this gear on!! Was there a bomb threat, was people hurling things at them. Was someone other than the girl with the flower in there way. I see a few people there but there is no threat. I understand that our government like to dress a bunch of officers in darth vadar like outfits to protect them from getting hurt at big political events but the fact that they do that without justification or cause states that we have no rights in the first place. Why are you guys arguing this girls intentions when our government has already taken away so much. If I lived in Saint Paul or would have had the money to get there I would have been out there fighting instead of just saying that we are all going to be treated like shit instead and sitting on the sidelines watching. Would someone explain what threat propelled the police forward other than a damn flower!!
