Food prices will rise next year, prompting a revival of protectionism from food-growing nations and risking a renewed bout of rioting, according to Jochen Hitzfeld, an analyst at UniCredit SpA in Munich.
“Agricultural commodities will outperform the broad commodity indices in 2009,” Hitzfeld wrote in a research note this week. “If key crop-producing countries then impose export bans again and speculators drive up prices via physical stockpiling and futures contracts, new food unrest is even conceivable in the second half of 2009.”
The CHART OF THE DAY shows food prices for the past 10 years as measured by an index compiled by UBS AG and Bloomberg that tracks at least 13 foodstuffs, including wheat, soybeans, sugar, cocoa and coffee. The index has declined 35 percent since peaking in July.

Interesting… Judging by how many dollars the Fed printed, I would expect a large inflation to start setting soon, meaning ALL prices would go up, not just gas.

I watched a commercial the other day for Ferraro Rocher chocolates. In it, the Gods are partying in the clouds, enjoying delights not known to mortal men. Then one of these delights, a Rocher chocolate, accidentally falls to earth. Zues shouts in anger as if falls. A mortal man eats the forbidden sweet and is treated to the Food of the Gods.
This thought popped into my head today:

I am tired of those who smoke pot going on about HEMP in every situation.Most farmers agree that they would help someone down on thier luck, but we all pack hardware and if pushed we would defend our homes and families.You won’t get much food raiding most farms anyway.Most wouldn’y know what to do with raw wheat or how to survive a Herd of Cattle.If it got ugly They sould go after those bases where food is stockpiled.Or food Plants.I donated 3 Big ThanksGiving dinners to the less fortunate and I am Far from rich.LOL I HEAT WITH WOOD and have WELL WATER. This PC and Dialup are as Luxurious as it gets for me.My advice is to get the Hell out of the city and learn to live off the land.Major cities are killboxes for them.Avoid surface body’s of still water.Get Nuke exposure pills.Nevermind electronic gadgets . They will let you down.Stock up on bullets.I mean REALLY stock up on Bullets.Not a couple hundred rounds.Avoid hollowpoints . Badguys have Vests.9mm and 45 won’t do much good.Even Shotguns are 50/50 at closerange.So we need to dig down and give up all the toys and fun.Plan escape routes and forget leaving by car or truck.Think Mopeds,dirtbikes , ATVs, Mountain Bikes. RotoTill your lawns, and the lawns of all the foreclosed properties in North America. Plant as much NON-GMO food crop as you can find and take care of it with neighbourhood waterers/watch.

Do you realize that about 70 percent of the adult population can not even cook basic food anymore? Most of the adult females I know do not know how to really cook, garden, sew or nurse a person that is ill. These are very basic things of life. It has been at least two generations since people had these basic skills. My grandmother was the last woman in my family (born in 1880) to raise a garden to actually feed her kids. She lived through the Great Depression as a single mom of five kids. All of them made it to adulthood. She lived on a few acres and provided for her family. I believe that our population has now been so dumbed down that we will not survive when the going gets tough. My sister, who is well educated by todays standards, thinks that chili comes from a can. No thought process after that, it is amazing. Today people do NOT like to think. Personally in the next few months I will growing my first garden(using heirloom seed)stocking my home with items that most people would not understand are food. And basically preparing to go to a very simple life style. If you prepare for this it will be far less painful for your families. Change your thinking first then it will be easier to do what is needed. God Bless and remember to THINK.

This sort of description seems to apply to certain bosses, coworkers, and bureaucrats, just as well as the so called New World Order group. There are so many different levels of evil liars in the world today. Some of the effects from evil people can seem like a huge organized group, which has occurred, but sometimes it may be a case of getting caught within a circle of zombie like minds who only seek to fit in even if it means lying, contrived rationale, and co-abusing of those who speak for higher values or merely the truth. For example, I have seen first hand how merely trying to get clear answers on the development process for an engineering project (non-military) can cause certain people to act like complete obstructionists, spin masters, bureaucrats, and actually resort to threats, abuse, and conspiracy to make themselves look good.

Most of the countries that experience food shortages have whopping barriers to trade. Look at Africa; the world’s MOST starving continent.
It’s not just trade barriers though. It’s the amount of military presence due to the lack of nuclear weapons. Seriously it is.
Without nuclear missiles to establish federal authority against foreign powers; military exponentially increases unnecessarily. And, with no money and a big military, guess what happens? Soldiers are national gangsters under the authority of the president.

#19 Aussie: You (and others) ask an interesting question…basically, “Where are the articles that provide solutions to the various problems that are presented on this site?”. I believe that answer is simple…there are none. I know that it may be rather frustrating and depressing but let me explain.
I am always blown away when I watch the movie “The Matrix”, to see how much of the movie relates to the real world situation. If you have not seen this film, I highly recommend it. Consider Alex Jones to be the equivalent of the character “Morpheus”. Alex’s web sites to be the equivalent of the Morpheus’ ship, the “Nebuchadnezzar”. And the many regular visitors to these sites as “Neo”. Morpheus uses the Nebuchadnezzar to reach Neo and give him the information concerning his true reality. Morpheus offers Neo no solutions, no perfect world, and no guarantee of victory, only the ability to see the Matrix for what it really is. Neo and the others must survive in the their world (and within the Matrix) as best they can. In the movie, Zion, the city and meeting place of the free is the equivalent of our Internet.
The Matrix, being the almost perfect prison that it is, can’t be destroyed by those few individuals that are free of it. All they can do is help free those who, like Neo, wish to be free of it. Even by the end of the the Matrix trilogy, the Matrix still exhists. But so do those who are free of it, with the hope that one day all people will be free of it. Perhaps the solution you look for is to act individually. Like Neo, become “The One”. Believe in yourself and come to truly understand the power of your own mind. The ability to think for yourself. If you can do this, no “Matrix” can hold you, no “Agent” of the Matrix can defeat you.
Now, I know your probably saying “I want clear solutions and strategies!”. “I want organise and overthrow this NWO Matrix!” The thing is this, just as the Matrix evolved in the movies, our world evolves as well. Right now, the only thing we can really do is help free other minds. This will occur through actively spreading information. The more minds that are set free the greater the possibility for movement. Change will come naturally when you have enough people in agreement, but you have to ask yourself, what exactly is it you want to change? What is it you want to aspire to? What is it exactly you want to get rid of? Not easy questions to answer with so many people with different views. Once people come to an agreement on change, it becomes easier to move toward it. I dare say that most people visiting this site don’t know what they really want. And that is why people are still floundering around aimlessly, complaining about the lack of solutions and wondering what to do next. It could be that they really aren’t willing to be free of the Matrix just yet.

The answer is to become as self sufficient as possible, get some gold if possible. Educate yourselves in both real history and real current affairs which certainly includes this site. Most importantly though get to know your true self and it’ s untapped riches. Work on yourself addressing your problems, and importantly learn to meditate and to turn the computer of the mind off. Eckert Tolle’s books are amazing and easy to read. For education check out http://www.rewtube.com. The documentaries are superb. Good luck and above all else keep the love flowing and don’t get sucked down by the media blitz of gloom. We need to be aware but detatched.

#29 Chris Mental: I’ve read “The Power of Now” (Eckhart Tolle). It was a very interesting read. A couple more thoughts concerning getting prepared have come to me since reading your post.
I know it keeps getting said on these forums, and many seem to be impatient about what to do, but if you recall from the movie, Neo, after having chosen to be freed from the Matrix, and physically released by Morpheus, was totally vulnerable in his new reality. He did not have the knowledge or understanding to survive long without the aid of the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar. He was like a baby reborn. The first thing they did was to regenerate his body. Next, he was “uploaded” with information…given all the hard knowledge he would require to survive against the Matrix and it’s agents. After this, he was tested. But, even though he was free of the Matrix and had been given all this knowledge, he still did not believe he was “The One”. His mind was still trapped, in a way, within the Matrix. He did not fully understand the power within himself. So, he was taken to see the Oracle, and told that she would tell him exactly what he needed to hear. And what did she tell him? She tells him that noone can tell him if he is “The One” and that he already knew what she was going to say next…Neo replies: “I am not The One”. The Oracle agrees and says to Neo: “You are waiting for something, your next life, who knows. That’s how these things go”. It took the rest of the movie for Neo to come to the full realization that he actually was “The One”. Something no-one, not even the Oracle, could tell him.
So, what to do? As a visitor to this site, you, like Neo, already know that there is something wrong in the world, even if you are not sure what it is, or how to deal with it. More and more people are aware of it every day. It has been said many times before, here and elsewere. Prepare yourself. Help prepare those around you. Do what you can to regenerate your body. Eat better. Get fit. Work towards a healthier life. Do what you can to educate yourself. Read more. Learn more. Ditch the TV, or at least glean what you can from it with open eyes (in the movie, those that are free can see the Matrix as it truly is on monitors). Try to become less dependant on the “Matrix”. Grow a garden. Try not to support the “Matrix”. Don’t buy that which you do not truly need. And finally, “Know Thyself”. Replace the fear and confusion that keeps you from moving forward. The waiting for a next life. Become “The One”.

I was at a gun show today and there were about 25 ar-15’s available and as many ak’s. There was tons of ammo and plenty of magazines for all. 70-80% of the people were looking at hand guns. 99% of the people were your typical brain dead dip shit americans who think democrats are after the guns and republicans are patriots. The losers even had posters of obama snatching guns from people.
It’s just ironic that those people (the hill billy types and hunters with their NRA stickers and hats) seem to understand that the purpose of the 2nd is for the security of a free state against shit pile government but thy don’t seem to have a clue what a shit pile government looks like.
I can’t take it. I can’t take being around these losers they’re no different than the moron cowards in your family and living next door to you. I’m sorry but that goes for those of you employed in the new world orders international guard.
