Fox News Reports On Alleged Threatening Comment Posted on “Radical” Infowars.com
March 30, 2010
Fox News is reporting this afternoon that the husband of a military servicewoman living on a Tennessee Naval base is under investigation for posting threatening comments on Infowars.com, described by Fox News as a “radical right-wing Web site.”
The Fox News story is posted in the “Terror” section of the website, an effort to link Alex Jones and Infowars.com to terrorists.
In response to the comment on Infowars.com, the military confiscated the man’s firearm. “Investigators with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service have seized the man’s shotgun and taken it to the armory at the Naval Support Activity Mid-South base in Millington, Tenn. The firearm will be will be stored there while the agency’s probe continues.”
The man apparently posted under the name “ACA.” According to Fox, the man posted the comment last week in response to a story on the expanding role of the IRS under Obamacare.
“THEN I WILL ( I here by threatn you with violence) if you come to my door [address removed] see if im joking! and as for you BEN what dose it look like? you living in it right now! IVAN go buy a gun and get some practice in,” the comment supposedly stated. It is possible an Infowars.com moderator deleted the comment. Infowars.com regularly moderates violent and threatening comments.
“Earlier this month, ‘ACA’ posted a series of comments in which he talked about killing police officers and other law enforcers,” the Fox News article continues. “In one, he claimed to keep an AR-15 assault rifle by his door and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun nearby, and he said he’d like to use both to kill police. The Naval base spokesman said only one weapon, the shotgun, was removed from the man’s home.”
It is claimed “ACA” also praised Joe Stack, the man who allegedly plowed an airplane into an IRS building in Austin, Texas.
Naval Criminal Investigative Service did not contact Alex Jones or Infowars.com regarding the threatening comment. Fox News did not contact Jones or Infowars.com before writing and posting the story.
The story is an obvious effort to continue and expand the ongoing propaganda offensive against Alex Jones and his websites. The description of Infowars.com as a “radical” website is intended to feed into the current news cycle obsessed with the Hutaree patsies and the corporate media assertion that patriots are dangerous and possible domestic terrorists.
On his radio show today, Alex called a CNN producer and asked if a hit piece produced last week will air on the network. The CNN producer indicated the segment may air this evening.
In related news, the “new journalism” website True/Slant has demonized Alex Jones. True/Slant is an establishment website run by a former news executive at America Online who worked at a variety of publications, including The Wall Street Journal. Harmon Leon, who calls himself “The Infiltrator,” attempts to connect Jones to the Hutaree group.
“But what really stands out is the Hutaree: they are yet another anti-government extremists who fear the New World Order as often stressed on #1 conspiracy nut Alex Jones’ website/radio show. Just like Jones’ philosophy, the militia group felt a need to stockpile weapons in fear that the government will take away their guns,” writes Leon, who cites a recent report issued by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
“SLP defines such groups as those that ‘engage in groundless conspiracy theorizing, or advocate or adhere to extreme anti-government doctrines,’” he writes. “Strange how that sounds vaguely like the rantings of the paranoid, conspiracy theorist, talk show host, Alex Jones.”
“Sure, Alex Jones wouldn’t condone these acts of violence, but does his role of being the voice of the lone wolf voiceless add fuel to the fire?”
Leon stops short of calling for Alex Jones to be shut down and his First Amendment right suspended.
