Geithner Grilled on Goldman Sachs Connections

Rep. Maxine Waters (DEM-CA) asked Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner about his connections to Goldman Sachs at a House banking hearing Tuesday morning. Goldman Sachs is known to have received bailout money given to A.I.G. Goldman may have participated in the government decision to provide the original bailout money to A.I.G.
Geithner told Waters that Goldman Sachs could help manage the new program to help banks remove toxic assets from their books. “It is possible, if they are qualified,” he said.
Former Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson once served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Goldman Sachs, afer working for the firm for decades.
“Neither did it look good when Geithner — himself a protégé of notorious Goldman alum John Thain, the Merrill Lynch chief who paid out billions in bonuses after the state spent billions bailing out his firm — picked a former Goldman lobbyist named Mark Patterson to be his top aide,” writes Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone.

The Washington Post noted that Waters was “dripping sarcasm from every syllable of ‘captains’ and ‘universe.’ Bank of America chief executive Kenneth Lewis attempted a little joke in response, saying, ‘I feel like a corporal of the universe.’ Stony silence from the seething Waters.”
“Lesson to future Hill witnesses: Don’t taunt a grouch,” Frank Ahrens wrote for the paper. “Especially one with power.”

First? So what. Anyway.. I was trying to watch this “grilling”.. what a frigging joke. Just when a question that the common person would want answered was asked, “TIME UP” (bang of the gavel)!! I would have also liked to see Ron Paul’s questions/comments but that wasn’t shown on CNN or Fox (they did show his face in a sidebar asking a question that we couldn’t hear). To me this was not a grilling.. it was a big guy getting his hand slapped for bully-ing the smallest kid in class. I was repulsed at their laughter and nothing said was conforting to me or ensures that they wont do this again. In fact just the opposite was said. They asked him if he was going to come back for more money and before he could answer they said they assumed he would and even though they wont like it.. they’ll give it to him anyway. Sick.. It’s a sick sick world. All these disgusting rich white elitist old men have to go to cure this diseased nation or we really are doomed to repeat this over and over.

I know exactly what you are saying, hammernail. What’s currently happening behind the scenes at the treasury, the federal reserve and the fund should help people understand that there is power behind these security instruments they’ve borrowed or are still borrowing. By using their processess to return the obligation (use of toxic assets or debt notes) back to source, happens to be a workable solution to close out the obligation tied to the original adhesion contract.
Geithner’s getting grilled for something difficult to explain to the beneficiaries of the contracts.

So how will this collapse unfold?
The breeding ground for hyperinflation is being set. We have lots of nasty self energising circles in motion. Unemployment, less consumption, less production, unemployment. No where to export to as this is a synchronised depression. Deflationary depression already in motion.
Now with a sudden increase in supply of “money” without an appropriate increase in output, hyperinflation. People will sell stocks, property, withdraw savings.
The financial crisis of 2008 will become the economic collapse of 2009. Social collapse will inevitably follow. For the good or bad. Who knows.

Why can’t any populist legislators (with the exception of Kucinich) put an effective question together? Somewhere in Ms. Waters’ time was the kernel of something useful, but it came out like a pile of crud. These are smart, slick people and they need to be baited like a lawyer baits a witness. When you get the mike, don’t ask rhetorical questions or make cautious statements (a la Ron Paul) – draw out testimony that can be used to build a case, or get them to float a softball that you can hit the damn thing! (along the line of “our question, Mr. Kashkari, is who you’re working for…”)
I wish someone like Ralph Nader would dedicate his time to organizing and coaching a progressive congressional caucus.

Take the time to read it and identify the similarities against current events. This will really pick your brain.
This is an exercise they bankgsters have played before. For general knowledge, they did it in Mexico about a decade ago. The short story goes like this. Large sums of Money go to Mexico as investment because traditionally rates are better.
They get the signal to start lending practices regardless of risk. Economy grows. House developers start lending money with a variable interest rate and Bankgster buddies start borrowing large amounts of money using worthless land and other assets (but the bank accepts them as valuable items). Right now people in the USA believe that all the crisis comes from the housing collapse without further investigation on a case by case and I bet you it is a lot of Chicago boys and congress buddies that have their hands deep into this mess.
Then all those invested moneys flee the country, they are invested into other economies. Banks start to collapse, variable rate loans soar, people lose their houses, credit tightens, meddle class suffers/disappears, small business force to shut down.
Government gets in action, “saves the financial system from collapsing because they have to or things will get worst” (same lie as in the USA.) and rescues all the bad loans made by the banks (FOBAPROA) (TARP is the cliche name here in USA). Governments denies access to the list of banks and bad loans rescued because of the “bank account secrecy policy”, but some politician names and relatives believed to be in the list. Government buys banks.
The Government instead of using trade, people taxes and oil revenue money resources for social programs, has to cut services, increase taxes, impose new ones in order to save the banks. No to mention the loans that have to incur (of course from IMF, World Bank, etc.) that future revenues will have to pay for the interest in the money loaned.
Once banks have dump all the bad credit to the Government, they are clean (in the black/profitable again) and ready to be sold. Guess who purchase those banks… Chase, Lehman brothers, BBVA, city bank, Goldman sacks, etc. and the country is flooded with insurance companies like AIG, NY Life, etc.
In Mexico Foregin banks get away with charging fees that would not be accepted anywhere else.
Today the debt is still being paid by mexico taxpayers.
You see, bankgsters are a cartel designed to control countries. The next victim is USA.

Under all of the contrived and convoluted layers, the sad truth is our government sold us into slavery.
What is slavery? It’s involuntary servitude to pay down the debt created by the market bubbles and bailouts which are illegal to begin with.
Enjoy working your asses off for the next 10 to 20 years because some asshole gave YOUR assets and earnings to an impersonator, throught the complex banking game of multi tier, off shore loan sharking based upon fake numbers.
So after they robbed you blind, they pledged your continued blood sweat & tears work, to pay down the debt they ran up and that debt is now out of sight.
YOU HAVE BEEN PLEDGED BY OTHERS TO SERVE AS WORKING SLAVE and in case no one ever told you, this is a direct violation of the Constitution because no matter what the convoluted terms they claim it to be, it boils down to selling people by using them as colateral. This is what they have done, they have used YOU, your citizenship, siezed assets and obligation to work, as colateral that will never be returned to you in YOUR lifetime. This fits the definition of being owned and managed like a slave, whose recovery is based upon another day of work and another and another, because their savings are repeatedly liquidated each cycle, to pay down someone else’s expenses and debt.
The framework of our banking system, national debt, bail out & stimulus, is based upon trading people as slaves according to the law, in case no one ever told you. This is a VIOLATION of the Constitution, in case no one told you and is a JAILABLE offense. When it involves a slave trader and a Plantation it’s JAILABLE, but because it’s been re-framed on a national scale as we are now seeing, it’s called the banker bailout & stimulus and borrowing from the Federal Reserve, but they are still buying and selling people with an obligation for them to work and pay the debt of others.
In case our leaders have not read the Constitution, this is totally illegal and any leader or public official that goes along with it is COMMITTING TREASON and can actually be executed, as in hanged to death, for violating the law. It is as our founders defined it, corporate/bank ownership and trading of the people which is illegal!!!
As I read it, child labor laws outlaw similar practices, as do other laws which outlaw women and children being sold as sexual slaves, unless one goes off shore. Ahhh, now this is where off shore banking practices come into play, because off shore banking is based upon the sale of people as colateral, which is how the Federal Reserve actually works. Your government leaders have sold you to such an off shore bank, in the form of colateral, in case no one told you how it works and that is SALABLE SLAVERY!!!

Thank you, Geithner, Bernake and Obama. Protect the names of the Banker’s that have placed that AAA-grade security as collateral. I can also see exactly why the process to get that accomplished is not information intended for everyone.
After attending this site, the nuggets of information that speckles that religious zealoted comments helped guide me into the direction that I needed to go. I followed my heart and paid attention to the fears I felt to acknowledge what was causing the fear between my government and mySELF. Once you do, you will come to find out the construct we call the American economy is absolutely perfect in its design. The only issue at this point is relieving the fearful people in charge of the entities tied by contract and agreements to the big entity (called the US Government, tradename). People fear this corporation so much, balance seems impossible to acheive. The US Corporation will obviously have to sustain a certain level of risk to support the one’s that don’t step up to the plate, but instead insist on being coddled with a false sense of security by the US Corporation, which is becoming more difficult to sustain.
Credit is a disease of the mind that needs remedy immediately. If you obtain currency through the exemption account of another…you have to pay to do that. Nobody said you couldn’t do that for yourself. Study up people. Windows may be open…but, will undoutedly be closed. Fear will define your steps.

Geithner’s a minion, he will be used & disposed of like the rest of them, they’re so gonna lose this war. that’s why they’re pushing things at an unprecedented rate now. They’re really scared at how informed people are becoming. I have to say it’s not just old white men, it’s every color, every creed, every gender, almost every religion. As long as they continue their path of negativity & manipulation, they will be stuck in the 3rd dimension for the rest of their own soul’s existence. meanwhile, the people who have chosen love/positivity at an average of 51% in their life, they will be able to do things they may have never, or already dreamed of! Nothing is coming to save us, we have to save us, but it’s not going to be with guns, i know how that may upset a lot of people. in fact, Alex has said, all NWO wants is for us to get violent, it’s the last excuse they need to bring in martial law, hence violence is not the answer. Organize, share, love, & win!

mrdee – what war will Geithner lose? This has nothing to do with war except maybe a war on the books at the treasury and having to balance a most definate imbalance not necessarily created by one man, but by over 6 billion entities. Is america truly filled with people that won’t take even a fraction of the responsibility, but are willing to take 100% of the control. There will be no need for guns on this round, but realize this site attracts those types. People have been conditioned to despise their government and I don’t blame them. We have not seen that corporations behaviors seeping with integrity over the last 96 years. They don’t deserve OUR TRUST because TRUST is EARNED. But, apparently, people refuse to claim what’s theirs and insist on allowing thier government to function like a corporation and than bitch when things don’t go exactly their way. The mindset needs to stop immediately.
People, not entities, are the only issuer of currency. Read the contracts and agreements and see who the secured parties are in them.
