The activities of al-Qaeda in two of Iraq’s most troubled cities could keep US combat troops engaged beyond the June 30 deadline for their withdrawal, the top US commander in the country has warned.
US troop numbers in Mosul and Baqubah, in the north of the country, could rise rather than fall over the next year if necessary, General Ray Odierno told The Times in his first interview with a British newspaper since taking over from General David Petraeus in September. He said that a joint assessment would be conducted with the Iraqi authorities in the coming weeks before a decision is made.
Combat troops are due to leave all Iraqi cities by the end of June. Any delay would be a potential setback for President Obama, who has pledged to withdraw all combat forces from Iraq by August 2010 as he switches his focus to Afghanistan.

Hangman 1 “conversely” the “reason” that the nwo wants to leave both Iraq & Afghanistan is to untie their troops to invade Iran. Some time last year(I forget when) U.S tanks were being off-loaded from Ukrainian Cargo jets in Afghanistan. I’m sure you’re well aware that tanks are no good in a moutain covered country like Afghanistan but are very useful in flatland like Iran. I’ll bet 1 pork-chop against 2 doughnuts the nwo starts using phrases like “al-Qaeda in Iran”.

What’s that mean? We started this war with a false flag operation that killed 3,000 of our own people! I’m sure there is a very real hatred that has manifested itself in the middle east that seeks to violently oppose our 100 year presence there, but again, that was a problem we ourselves created. Since the fall of the Ottoman Empire we have been playing Imperialist with the Anglos and reaping war, resentment, and a culture of murder and violence over there, and now here as well, and now Americans are sitting there saying we aren’t dealing with this in a logical manner!
Of course not, we can’t even admit how or who started all of this. Know thyself, know they enemy, a thousand battles fought will be a thousand battles won. We as the people know neither ourselves nor our “enemy.” An officer with balls and a real dedication to his country would realize the enemy sits in Washington, London, and banking houses across the US and Europe. USMC General Smedley “eats nails and pisses molten steal” Butler, my personal hero said this, not some hippy! We would be doing the exact same things as the Arabs if we were dealt the same cards! They are human beings the same as you or I, Islam has nothing to do with, not even a “perversion” of Islam. They are hacking heads off in Mexico, Columbia, and Guatemala – and they are Catholics! What they do have in common with the Arabs is a history of ceaseless exploitation, political manipulation by foreigners, and perpetual war.
If you really care about America, your principles, your fellow soldiers and Americans – you got to have the balls to dare to look where facts might compromise your perception of reality. It is not weakness to compromise your perception when you were WRONG! Its not weakness to study your enemy, his religion, his history, his culture, his speeches, and his thoughts and beliefs! Its not weakness to conclude that you are wrong about them and identify your real target.

Yes, I agree completely. The facts are the war was started by Israel, and the U.S. Military is being used as attack dogs to fight in wars that serve the interest of Israel. Lets really look at 911, and you find that while the term “inside job” is partially correct, no matter what part of it you examine, you find it was facilitated by dual-citizens of Israel and high level traitors without our government with loyalties to Israel. Mossad was clearly suspect in the bombing of the towers, as was their connection to Larry Silverstien and the head of the port authority. Silverstien himself was close personal friends to Benjamin Netanyahoo, who said “911 was very good for Israel.” Netanyahoo just so happened to be in London on the day of the 7/7 bombings and was reportedly warned not to ride a bus that day. Truth is stranger then fiction, and what you find at the end of the tunnel is that Zionist Jews are carrying out nearly all the terrorism, including the financial terrorism. that is why 9 out of 12 international banks involved in the looting of the planet right now are Jewish. These people are doing a number on the whole world, and Israel was established as their criminal base of operations outside US jurisdiction. I suggest you google 911 missing links and watch the free film, by far the BEST and most informative documentary on 911 and other Israeli crimes like the U.S.S. Liberty attack, which also shows a very disturbing trend amongst top US leaders to “cover up” for Israeli false flag terror, as they did in the case of the Liberty, which clearly points to one thing: United States is in fact a proxy state of Israel, it is working for Israel, our leaders make decisions in for the best interests of Israel, not our own country. The real truth that AJ seems to like to ignore.

What is a ‘real American’? One shouldn’t brush the negatives under the rug. Life involves reationships; relationships of all kinds. In order to even begin to try to make changes, one has to try to begin to look very closely at oneself no matter what one might see and how ‘painful’ it may be.
The US has been at war and in how many conflicts with World neighbors in just the last 50 years alone? When most of the rest of the World states that the US is ‘empirical’, ‘domineering’, ‘abusive’, ‘hypocritical’, ‘a tyrant’, etc…and the US does not listen and continues on and on with it’s behavior and arrogantly claims it is ‘right’…no matter the level of destruction in it’s path…..that is a sign.
I surely would not want to be in a personal relatinship with such a character; one that denies and covers all the terrible while simultaneously engaging in such acts. It takes one of integrity to take a deep look at oneself to recognize the wromgs and truly try to change. Not just change for a personal selfish gain, but changes because one really desires a change. Unfortunately, it did not matter how many people in other countries were having bombs & missiles coming into their homes and killing family members. It did not matter what chemicals were being developed to land inside the countrys of other humanbeings. It did not matter much who was being put in prisons and tortured or raped..even murdered.
Now though, now that much talk of FEMA camps at home, prison & torture at home, troops in the streets at home, bio-chem weapons at home……;now it matters?
Why did it not matter in past decades? Now the world, who has been saying and pleading to stop and leave us alone, go home, go away…ya think maybe now the citizens of the US can now relate? Now the US wants a change? Somehow that just doesn’t seem like a change whereas we are all in a world relationship and we should work together. It seems more like a situation where most in the US want a change so they wont have to suffer themselves.
Ummm. Yeah. Reply:

The US has a routine. They approach a country and either cut a deal on promises, or they remove and install a leader to accomplish their goals. Look at history and now look at Pakistan.
Americans typically blame others for their past calamities and most of the current problems…all the while claiming freedoms and a democracy. Wow..y amay not have noticed but Americans arent really in charge of much and havent been for a long long time. Many were involved in flag waving and accumulating credit cards and demonizing others around the world that dont fit into a cookie-cutter World view.
Look at the realities…too many to list. America is NOT number one in the education system. America is NOT a leader in ethics, responsibilites or cultural mores. America is NOT the proverbial wealthiest country. But what typically happens is truths are covered and truth is an issue to be avoided. If America is a democract of the people, for the people and by the people..them every American citizen is responsible. If Americnas are not responsible for the current situation, then you have no democacy. WHich way is it?

I’ve always said the US’s greatest ally in the “War for Oil” was Al-Qaeda. When things look bleak, withdrawal imminent, Homeland Security legislation is on the rocks, Al-Qaeda comes in and saves the day. It got Bush reelected with Osama’s comments to the effect of “Oh? You are going to vote out Bush? What are you Americans? Chicken?”
And now back from the grave and the resounding “success” is Al Qaeda’s second (third) breath to keep us locked in permanently in Iraq. Logically, we’ve built the world’s largest embassy there in the Green Zone, many expensive, and very permanent military bases along the oil lines and fields, we aren’t going ANYWHERE!
Obama was as Alex Jones has repeated a million times, the bait and switch. This war is so transparently a fraud, manufactured and purposefully perpetuated that I’m surprised anyone still buys it! Let alone buys that Obama is really bringing “change.” He’s more like compounding our crisis and expanding Bush’s disastrous policy – but I guess that’s not a very catchy campaign slogan is it? Especially when John McCain was already using that one.

If the U.S. had not been in the middle east, there would never had been a 911. This fact irritates the Company Men who wish to protect the Rothchilds leases in the 9th Province of Iraq.. Off course they used Al Queda as “Patsy’s” and allowed them to accomplish their mission.
If the Iraqi’s were left alone they would dispatch Al Queda in short order. Instead The Cartel that runs America borrows money from China to pay our troops and personally profit from their Empire on loan.
If you voted for Obama because he said he would save us from this catastrophy, it’s time you seriously consider the idea that you may have been lied to. Everyone should call their Demopublican representative and demand the immediant withdrawl of all U.S. military forces from around the globe. We should keep a few good liberty ports the way every other country does and that’s about it.

No, you and the Janitor are both right. I’m fresh from the page where someone was denouncing Ron Paul for not pushing the truth about 9/11. I don’t want to get into that, but I’ll say that even the most naive have to have a hard time arguing that there is any resentment in the world towards the US because they hate that we are “free”. Paul successfully argued, in my opinion, that its easy to find ill-will towards the US because we have been meddling in all the world’s business for so long. True, of course, that 9/11 happened in part to justify more war in the middle east, but also, if the US had not already been so involved, so far down the wrong path, 9/11 would not have been neccessary.

As an Iraq War Veteran, the time to leave Iraq (and Afghanistan) is NOW!!!!! The true reason to halt the deadline for withdraw has nothing to do with Al-Qaeda. But, rather it has lot more to do with securing Iraq’s 115 billion barrels of oil for the major Petro companies like Shell, British Petroluem (BP), Exxonmobil, and Halliburton (in which it’s subsidiary KBR provides meals, laundry,
and other support services for the troops). With over 200 military installations (of which 58 are major ones) and the world’s largest U.S. embassy, the Pentagon and Wall Street have long vested interest to continue illegally occupying the country. Unfortnately, the Obama administration, is deceiving the American people on the issue of Iraq by reclassifying the combat troops in a “supporting” roles instead of a complete pull out. In the meantime, more soldiers are being sent back to Iraq on the fourth and fifth combat tours!!!!! Albert Einstein once said,”the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.”
And to make matters worse, the Army and Marines “stop-loss” policy and with the bad economy here at home (”POVERTY DRAFT”), will ensure a steady stream of “cannon fodder” for this conflict.
In other words, they are caught between “a rock (or should I say IRAQ) and a hard place !!!” I’m glad I left the military when I did after 8 years of active duty service (4yrs in the Air Force/4yrs in
the Army) back in 2005 (served in Iraq in 2003).

There’s no money to be made in withdrawing. Wars are not about terrorists they’re about commerce. The terrorists that alledging committed 9-11 were a creation of the mil/industrial complex – to fight the Soviets in Afganistan. The argument that we need to fight them there ignores that fact that they were given legal entry into the U.S. when we were attacked. It’s not a plausible or rational approach to say what we are doing there will protect us. The U.S. has been in the Middle East long before 9-11 was perpetrated. How convenient that some forget. Did you forget Desert Shield and Desert Storm? I recall when the Marine barracks in Lebanon was attacked, I also recall how the Marine guards there were left with inadequate defenses or weapons to respond to such an attack. Our servicemembers are brave no doubt ( I was one), but the servicemembers bravery will not lead to any victory when that is not the real reason for being there or when they are lead by commanders suffering from stupidity. Stupid – doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
