With the crisis, the ill-conceived government reactions, and the ensuing economic downturn, the unfunded liabilities of federal programs — such as Social Security, civil-service and military pensions, the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation, Medicare and Medicaid — are over the $100 trillion mark. With U.S. GDP and federal tax receipts at about $14 trillion and $2.4 trillion respectively, such a debt all but guarantees higher interest rates, massive tax increases, and partial default on government promises.

glad I locked in that low interest rate… but I wonder what will happen when these states and incorporated cities go bankrupt? What will happen to the property held by private citizens?
Private property rights will surely be damaged in the coming months and years, but it will be interesting to see how the different states handle it…

Glad I locked in a low rate and have lived within my means as well. But with emminent domain run amok and seeing what this administration is doing to contracts of law I’ve come to the conclusion is that ANYTHING is possible. Look at the insane power/money grab just in the last 6 months. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. BOHICA, indeed.

I hope your right because when the dollar collapses it will not matter, when our economy goes kur-poot and most people are laid off and there is a banker holiday and property taxes go up for the sole fact to break most citizen’s will, then couse you will see the seizing of private property for pennies on the dollar, and watch to see who will be buying it all at the foreclosure auctions (sort of like what is going on now)……I hope I am wrong and your right…….

You don’t have to take the 407. You can take other highways and routes. You only take the 407 if you want to pay to drive on a highway that usually has less traffic because of the toll. If they start making too many toll routes, and certainly if they start putting tolls on existing non toll highways, that will be a problem.

And, “Truth”, you are right – Jesus is not God (the fullness of God cannot be confined to one human body) – he was the chosen one by God (His son) and placed on this earth to show us how to live and to die because the blood that was shed was and still is very powerful.
