Ghost, I LOVE you!!! I loved your reply to "Catherine the Ignorant." That's exactly how Obama got in the White House - his golden tongue and rhetorical skills. Sounds like the first step in America becoming a Communist country to me. Wake up out there in Neverland - the "change" is coming faster than any of us expected!

It's not the 14th amendment, it's the 13th that says we shall not be forced into slavery or servitude. Read it.

I agree, it will be bloody hell, but necessary. Interesting how the United States doesn't seemed to be talked about in the book of 'Revelation'. Your post was intelligent and most insightful. I only hope people will be willing to risk their lives like our forefathers did.

The reason people have been (dumbed-down) by the government schools and media is
simply because the country has allowed this to happen. The decleration of independence
and the constitution were made to protect the right for LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT
OF HAPPINESS. As the years have come and gone, people have been weeding out the
   word PURSUIT.

We have now allowed for people to just sit back and watch the bus stop and leave and
then complain that someone else didn't pay for their fare. Now it has made it into
Washington. I still can't comprehend how a man/woman can work hard and do the right things
in life and then be ridiculed for their accomplishments. Not every rich person was raised
in a rich neighborhood. Now it seems that the government wants to make it mandatory
for the person who does the right things pay for the ones who just want to sit on their
    backsides and gripe. Mandatory?

This country has overcome many obstacles by people wanting to help each other, not by
being told the should. Look at North Dakota. Right now there is a potential for a major
catastrophy and still there are people there from all around helping because they want to
   help there fellow citizen.

The government is not there to say wether or not it will be mandatory for my child or
any child in this country to volunteer for any organization(govermental or private).

We accomplish more things by being the people we are, and have been, not people that
a person or group wants us to be.

How hypocritical is it for our congress to pass a bill like this and our president even consider
it when our own vice-president doesn't like much of his own volunteering for charitable
   organizations.

If the public were not so dumbed-down, they would realize that the federal government has no authority to initiate compulsory military service. All that a selected person has to ask whoever requests that he/she step forth and "volunteer" is, "What Rights am I acquiescing and am I required to acquiesce those Rights?", and they must allow that person to leave without being compelled into a branch of the military!
The people have been so dumbed-down by the government schools and the totally, controlled media that they do not have any idea what their Rights are, however, the internet is a terrific source to discover those Rights!

The bigger point here is this will, over time, add to the Zombie Citizen-Army Obama wants. More mouths fed by big gov't is the greatest danger. "Just feed me and you can lead me...(into enforcing gov't policies that will enslave the rest of us)" This thing just snow-balls because we're too stupid to know what's going on and won't care, as long as we're fed and clothed and "feel" safe.
