Glenn Beck’s Lame Attempt to “Debunk” FEMA Camps

Disinfo operative Glenn Beck’s shabby and comical attempt to “debunk” FEMA camps was theater of the absurd at its most revealing. Recall Beck a few weeks ago trying to bait us with a promise to investigate the camps. He came off as alarmed over the prospect of internment camps and this set the hook. Stay tuned, folks, he teased, we’ll get to the bottom of this.

| Beck and Meigs Part 1 | |
Glenn Beck, the seasoned operative, never intended a serious exposé. He planned to make those of us who know FEMA camps exist look like fools and churls. In order to do this he enlisted the retread James Meigs, editor-in-chief of the washed-up Hearst publication, Popular Mechanics. Back in 2005, Meigs spearheaded an effort to debunk the 9/11 truth movement with a Popular Mechanic cover story. Meigs and his crew of supposed debunkers approached the science of 9/11 very selectively and were more interested in ad hominem attacks leveled against researchers. Meigs concluded his diatribe by stating that “those who peddle fantasies that this country encouraged, permitted or actually carried out the attacks are libeling the truth — and disgracing the memories of the thousands who died that day.”
Meigs turned his “fact checking” (through omission) into a book — Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can’t Stand Up to the Facts. It was published by Hearst, the media corporation famous for its association with the expression “yellow journalism.” Hearst told the illustrationist Frederic Remington during the Spanish-American War: “You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war.” Nothing much as changed since 1895.
In the video here, Beck says Meigs heads up the “independent group” he assigned the task of debunking the conspiracy nuts who believe in the existence of FEMA camps. As evidence the nutters are way out in left field, Meigs dissects a widely discredited video of a Beech Grove, Indiana, Amtrak facility filmed by the Indianapolis attorney Linda Thompson.

You may recall Thompson’s earlier video about the government siege and subsequent incineration of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas. She made a series of absurd claims about the siege, for instance insisting the BATF and FBI used flame throwers mounted on tanks against the Davidians. It didn’t take long for Soldier of Fortune Magazine to discredit Thompson’s accusations. She mysteriously vanished into the ether after people began asking if she might be a government operative.
Meigs and Beck say nothing about this. “This footage, which appears in multiple videos on YouTube, is from a ‘documentary’ filmed 15 years ago,” explains Beck’s Fox News web page. “Yet today, it’s been viewed nearly 1.5 million times online. The woman who made the video, Linda Thompson, was one of the pioneers of the militia movement in the United States — except she was so extreme, she embarrassed even her fellow militants. Far from a death camp, Beech Grove is the primary maintenance facility for Amtrak’s long-distance trains, overhauling and repairing approximately 700 passenger cars a year. Company officials, who’ve heard these theories for years, welcomed our film crew, and the superintendent of the facility showed us anything we wanted to see.”
Beck does not bother to mention the fact serious FEMA camp researchers discarded the video years ago. Meigs and Beck are more interested in linking the video to Thompson and the “militia movement” (created as a scary bogeyman by the corporate media in the 1990s) and connecting that up with the ugly specter of the Timothy McVeigh — the same McVeigh photographed at Camp Grafton, North Dakota (the base specializes in demolitions training) in 1993, a mere 18 months before the Oklahoma City bombing. The FBI insisted he was not in the military at the time.
In the second installment of this “definitive debunking,” Beck and his sidekick Meigs show us a satellite photo of a real concentration camp the conspiracy theorists supposedly claim is a FEMA camp. As Alex Jones called it when the photo was used as a teaser at the close of the first installment the previous evening, the camp is located in North Korea (because only communists operate concentration camps, never mind the forcible relocation and internment of approximately 110,000 Japanese nationals and Japanese Americans by Roosevelt during World War 2, a criminal act lavishly defended by the neocon darling Michelle Malkin, a regular on Fox News).
After “debunking” Camp Grayling, Michigan, where there is a mock camp complete with barbed wire and watch towers for National Guard training, Beck and Meigs begin talking about how the conspiracy theorists are out of touch with reality and refuse to accept the obvious truth there are no camps and our loving government would never do such a thing, not like the evil communists in North Korea (or the evil mullahs in Iran, although our intrepid investigators do not mention the latter).
As expected, Beck’s long awaited “debunking” does not bother to cover more substantial territory and instead relies on old discredited video footage and photos that look good on television.
Beck and his protégé completely ignore solid and irrefutable evidence that does not look good on television and might prompt bored viewers to switch over to the Comedy Channel or actually turn off the idiot tube and read a book.
No mention of the contract awarded in January of 2006 to Kellogg, Brown and Root, a subsidiary of Halliburton, to build “temporary detention and processing capabilities to augment existing ICE (Immigration Customs Enforcement) Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) Program facilities in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs,” (emphasis added) according to Fox News.

It was said Rex-84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was also about rounding up and detaining illegal immigrants. “The Rex 84 Program was originally established on the reasoning that if a ‘mass exodus’ of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA,” notes Allen L Roland.
In fact, Rex-84 Alpha Explan (as it was also known) was cooked up by FEMA and 34 other federal civil departments and agencies (with a few NATO nations to boot) for the express purpose of detaining large numbers of American citizens. “The exercise anticipated civil disturbances, major demonstrations and strikes that would affect continuity of government and/or resource mobilization. To fight subversive activities, there was authorization for the military to implement government ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels, the arrest of certain unidentified segments of the population, and the imposition of martial law,” Diana Reynolds writes (The Rise of the National Security State: FEMA and the NSC).
No mention of master military contingency plan Operation Garden Plot developed in response to the civil disorders of the 1960s and still operational under the control of the U.S. Northern Command. Garden plot was last activated (as Noble Eagle) to provide military assistance to civil authorities following September 11, 2001. The Pentagon also activated it to restore order during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. Operation Garden Plot is “the program to control the population.”

More recently the National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645 was introduced in Congress. It mandates the establishment of “national emergency centers” to be located on military installations for the purpose of to providing “temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster,” according to the bill (see Paul Joseph Watson: New Legislation Authorizes FEMA Camps In U.S.). “Ominously, the bill also states that the camps can be used to ‘meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security,’ an open ended mandate which many fear could mean the forced detention of American citizens in the event of widespread rioting after a national emergency or total economic collapse,” writes Watson.
None of this was mentioned by Beck or Meigs.
Or did they mention the long list of executive orders establishing draconian mechanisms for martial law and detention and work camps, all in violation of Article 4 Section 4 of the United States Constitution (see Establishing martial law in the United States).
Finally, Beck and Meigs don’t want you to know about and would certainly never cover the U.S. Army’s “Civilian Inmate Labor Program” under Army Regulation 210–35.
Maybe in the future Glenn Beck will commission another investigation into the existence of not only FEMA camps but the plans formulated by government to impose martial law in the United States.
I’m not going to hold my breath in the meantime.

When Jack Brooks asked the question Ollies lawyer was very quick to defer to the chairman Inouay (unsure of the spelling) of Hawaii. The question of the camps must have been expected for a long time no?
Which I believe, if logic follows, that the answer to the question was prepared well in advance with the chairman’s knowledge (and potentially many more politicians, aids, advisers, etc.) of the camps existence. So it’s like answering the Iraq WMD question. There was no question if he had them, we sold them to him hence there is no question if the camps exist we paid for them.

I just read Popular Mechanics article that supposedly debunks 911 truth.
They picked their sub-topics to debunk very carefully, they did not even engage the most convincing 911 truth arguments. They took on a few fringe arguments about 9/11 truth, and call themselves debunking it. They did not mention the most important facts, just more reason to believe something is up.

Beck wants the truth? Reporting is about facts? I cut him some slack until I watched this. You can tell he knows he is lying because he is nervous. He stumbles, can’t sit still and is over dramatic. Normally he much more relaxed. He is falling all over himself.
Then there is that clown from Popular Mechanics. They need to face AJ in person to address his evidence. To claim on national television—indeed, brag—that nothing matters but the truth and that is what they provide, is a challenge to anyone to prove otherwise. If Beck doesn’t have the integrity to stand behind his “reporting” on a network that claims to be “fair and balanced,” then Beck is a hack and a fraud. If they will not address AJ directly, then we have proof undeniable that Beck’s whole show is scripted.

I must say one thing that caught me was the comment in the beginning of the first part when they said “well there are over 600 supposed camps and we could never cover all of them so let’s just take a couple of the famous ones” then they proceed to just cover the one instance.

Watching Glen trying to tackle a subject that is complex, is like watching a monkey trying to hump a basketball. He’s pawing at it first, then when he can’t grasp it he screams and flails his arms around. Bringing popular mechanics on the show was also very amateurish. Notice how there wasn’t anyone on the other side debunking the debunker. It would have been great to see Dr. Stan, or AJ opposite from the PM stooge. This Meigs guy wouldn’t know reporting or “truth” if it fell out of the sky, landed on his face, and started to wiggle! Keep up the good work AJ and the rest of the infowars crew, if they have to bring up the subject it means we are getting to them!

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I know many of you will jump down my throat, but they do make some good points. His closing statement about fix view and not always looking at the facts is dead on. I see that point of view all the time on this board. An example is whenever someone starts to question a story, people will start stating they are some gov troll (I have been call one many times)…but when I comment on a story that is based on real facts and reseach I am meet with kudos. If you are really sincere, then do that research, look into all of what people say here or Inforwars that is.
I do agree that some stories here are whacked and that only 10% of what comes out of here is truth the other 90% is diversion (my own beleife). But the truth that is here, you must use and relay to others who are still sheep, that includes yourself. If I ever reference this site I always do it with a disclaimer that some stuff here is whack, but I do encourge them to move on to other sites and then we discuss more of what they investigated and filter out the hype.

Scientists dismiss earthquake prediction

ROME (Reuters) – Earthquakes like the one that killed more than 200 people in Italy this week are still impossible to predict, and a local scientist’s claims to have done so should be treated with caution, geophysicists say.
Gioacchino Giuliani is at the center of a debate about the limits of seismology after Italian officials shrugged off his warnings last month that a devastating earthquake in the central Abruzzo region was imminent.
In fact Giuliani, who works at the National Institute of Physics, was even reported to police for spreading panic.
While many Italians are now more than ready to listen to whatever Giuliani has to say, geophysicists in Europe and the United States remain sceptical of his claims to have discovered an effective early-warning system.
Although scientists say it’s easy to say where big quakes are likely to happen, pinning down the timing can’t be done, at least not yet.
“It’s a very humbling field to be in … We cannot predict earthquakes,” said Ross Stein, a geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, California.
“To predict an earthquake, whatever it is that we’re using would have to be a reliable indicator … And no one has gotten close to that.”
Giuliani based his forecast on emissions of radon gas. The theory goes that the gas is released as the fault line adjusts itself before a major earthquake.
“We can know when an earthquake is coming,” Giuliani said in one of the flurry of interviews he has given to Italian media over the past 24 hours.
“To those who have not believed me, I’ll just say that a scientist’s dictionary should not contain the word ‘impossible’. History has proven that to us.”
MISSING LINK
But Giuliani isn’t the first to look at radon gas. It’s been studied since the 1970s and no research has yet proven it as a reliable detection tool, scientists told Reuters.
“There isn’t a definitive link between radon gas measurements and earthquake occurrence,” said Brian Baptie at the British Geological Survey. “Sometimes people have measured radon gas and no earthquakes have occurred, and vice-versa.”
Giuliani’s forecast was far from perfect. He believed the quake would have struck the town of Sulmona, which is more than 50 km (30 miles) south of L’Aquila. He also got the date wrong, predicting the quake would strike several days earlier.
The head of Italy’s Civil Protection Agency, Guido Bertolaso, told reporters that if they had listened to Giuliani, they probably would have evacuated the residents of Sulmona to L’Aquila just in time for the earthquake.
Still, Giuliani’s claims have been a headache for Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who has told Italians that seismology still can’t “predict ‘the when’ of quakes.”
“What were we supposed to do, take 300,000 people and tell them to stay outside their homes for an open-ended period? There’s no way,” Berlusconi told RAI state television.
Radon gas is just one of many avenues explored by scientists, who have looked at everything from how cockroaches behave on fault lines to sudden changes in water levels and temperature as possible tools to predict earthquakes.
Stern said if Giuliani wanted to be taken seriously by the scientific community, he should publish his work and put it up to review.
“This physicist from Italy has every right to pursue something, as do the cockroach people. But we all have to subject our work to the same standards of review,” Stern said.

It is a potential point A processing station i believe for the masses to be hauled away from there once shaved and tagged then cramped and shuttled into cattle cars to the final work camp.Why is the barbed wire fence turned faced in instead of faced out ? Prisons are the only ones i know of that do that deliberately to keep people in. I think this facility is one of those “turn it into a prison when needed” multi purpose systems like you can find on Cicero Ave. Cicero Illinois at the CITGO oil blending plant.Their barbed wire is pointed inward accomodating this facility with railway,waterway,major highway infrastructure 60 seconds away and an airport only a few miles away to transport the sheeple out.All Citgo would have to do is haul away the product stock and remove the floor bolts to the packing machinery ,lift and clear away then you can move in what you need to operate a Pont A processing facility.I worked there in security for 2 years and saw it right off the bat the potential this facility in chicago has to be converted in 24 hours notice.Ridiculous? Both “gatekeepers”Glenn Beck and Popular Mechanics (Hearst Publishing-”Yellow Journalism”) are way off the wall in debunking the existance of the FEMA Camps. Jason Bermas is right in mentioning of the internment camps during WWII to imprison Japanese-American (and also German and Italian) citizens. Also, during the 1980’s it was revealed in the Iran-Contra hearings that a program called Rex-84 existed and was questioned by a congressman from Texas. But, the Senator from Hawaii stop him from publicly discussing the topic. Operations Garden Plot and Cable Splice to run up people and put them into camps have been in existance for sometime as part of the Contingency of Government (COG). The U.S. Army currently has a civilian internment prisoner program on it’s military bases. And as far as Popular Mechanics is concerned, they have no credibility with me because they also debunked 9/11 as a false flag attack and back the official gvoernment lie instead.

I saw a video of a bunch of empty rail cars lined up at a rail car repair facility. Everyone jumps to the conclusion that they are there for FEMA! Maybe they are maybe they aren’t! I am not convinced however just because people say so. Nobody and I mean NOBODY ever thinks that maybe with a shattered economy these cars are idle because there is no product to transport. They generally move automobiles in those types of rail cars. Well have none of you seen the lots FULL of cars that aren’t being sent to dealers? People at auto plants are being laid off every day. Are any of you looking at more than one side of the story? I don’t see as many trucks hauling cars down the highway as I used to. Are the trucks going to be used for FEMA too? I mean the burden of proof is on you to back your claims and not just jump to conclusions. That is the problem though. Nobody provides any evidence aside from their own want for mindless self inflicted terror.
We know the NWO is real but that is because there is proof. Whatever else you have in your argument is backed by pure speculation. Grab a camera and start knocking on doors. Camp out and watch what happens in these places. Otherwise claiming that a youtube video of empty train cars by someone who is quite obviously NOT an expert on trains or concentration camps is proof of FEMA camps? Come on now! Although one thing I had remembered from those videos on the fema camps was that most of them dated back to the early 90’s… if you look at the bottom left of the screen the camcorder displayed the actual date, so is it possible that these are being used as actual amtrak repair facilities now?

I feel deeply suspicious of Glenn Beck. I believe he is trying to hijack the Patriot movement and steer it off course. On one hand he brings on people like Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Gerald Celente, and Tom Woods and tries to pander to the libertarians, then turns around and pushes ardent neo-conservatives and authoritarian statists like David Horowitz, Frank Gaffney, Karl Rove, Michelle Malkin, and Jonah Goldberg, as well as all the paranoid crap about how evil and dangerous Iran and Russia are. Let us also not forget that while he complains about the MIAC attack on Ron Paul supporters, it was Beck not so long ago that denounced Ron Paul supporters as potential domestic terrorists. The man is a complete fraud and a typical neo-conservative conman.

that most of the early responders were women. His boyish “charm” draws them in,
but, many of them (as you can read) are not happy with his handling of the FEMA camp

This movement needs leadership in organization. Let’s move out of the blogosphere and into the real world. We need to set a date for a peaceful rally in Austin. Civil disobedience, and our inalienable rights as laid out in the Constitution, under God, are our pillars and our MORAL AUTHORITY. Study the Civil Rights Movement. The inspiration King had came from above. His sense of justice, and above all, LOVE, were founded in his faith. Look at everything he overcame and everyone he inspired. We can do the same.
Also, I’d like to suggest the documentary that Max Keiser suggested a few days ago on the economic collapse of Argentina. They used pots and pans to make noise as a symbol of solidarity and unity. Also, recall the orange armbands during the ‘orange revolution’ in the ukraine a few years ago. We need a symbol that unites us that communicates non-violence and our Constitutional purpose. Any ideas?

I must admit, I was skeptical of FEMA camps prior to hearing Glen Beck’s reporting on the issue. To be honest, I never looked into the issue at any depth. But when I saw James Miegs – the king of yellow journalism – attempting to “debunk” the FEMA camps, I thought something didn’t quite add up. The same thing happened with 9/11..I saw Meigs deliberately lie and spread disinformation.

Boy they’re covering all their bases aren’t they? Keeping people that may lean towards the truth in line so to speak. This guy constantly grabs those in that have an incling of knowledge about these topics and then ‘debunks’ these views. One minute he calls Ron Paul supporters terrorists, the next he’s talking about how bad the MIAC report is. One minute he’s crying about what’s happening to our country, to sucker those in that may have the same belief, and the next second he’s saying our government is fine and they would do nothing to harm you. All this guy is doing is keeping people confused and turning them off to the truth before they get to far with it. This system will do everything possible to keep the truth only in the hands of “conspiracy nuts”, “kooks”, and “the fringe of society”.

If they get too close to one another, the molecular structure of their DNA becomes intertwined, and after a short and painful cellular symbiosis, a large slug monster is formed, which sterotypically oozes slime behind it as it slithers away into the shadows in shame and discomfort, frightening small children and Fox News crews,who thereafter quickly forget about Bin Laden, and renew beliefs in a real Boogeyman. I dont think that Glenn Beck is a conscious shill, who consciously knows about the NWO and decides to work for them. Just as there is not a person in every media room, behind the cameras, telling them oh say this, or dont say that..that isnt how it works. What they do is promote the people who have the beliefs they want to perpetrate on the people. Case in point: Glenn Beck. I am willing to bet he believes everything he says. I am willing to bet that he really doesnt believe in the camps, and really thinks all these conspiracy theories are looney and crazy, and he has a desire to “disprove” them, exactly the type of media man they want…so, he gets the promotion. Other people, who might have a different belief and might actually start to talk about NWO, they dont get promoted. Thats how the media control works, its not actually complete, direct control.
Thats what people seem to..forget..is that this NWO is NOT all powerful, they do NOT have complete control of the world systems, that is what they WANT, eventually, is complete control. Right now, they have a strong influence and want to total their control with a totalitarian state, but we are not there yet! We still have some resemblance of freedom and truth and goodness and wonder and talent, beauty, in our country, around the whole world. To be honest, this NWO is on its deathbed, desperately trying to cling to their age old plans and not be exposed to the world.
The NWO exists, but it wont win. We wont be put in camps, they will not be able to take our guns, they cant stop this awakening, it is happening now, they know it…it is the final act now, and they will leave the stage. Could someone please find out where the alleged use of a North Korean camp photo came from? It might reveal a false flag/front…I’ve been reading the good and the garbage on this topic for years and have NEVER seen anyone attempt to show a North Korean labor camp photo as a U.S. site. Nor does M/Beck even say where it was used. That little paper tiger stunt reveals the Beck exercise as a mere sham and an example of incompetent counter-propaganda.
