Global Cooling: Alaskan Glaciers Grow For First Time In 250 Years

Plans to implement a worldwide carbon tax in the name of saving the planet from global warming have taken another blow after it was revealed that Alaskan glaciers have grown for the first time in 250 years after an abnormally cool summer.

Temperatures 3 degrees below average caused winter snow to remain for longer, prompting the increase in glacial mass, reports the Daily Tech.
“Since 1946, the USGS has maintained a research project measuring the state of Alaskan glaciers. This year saw records broken for most snow buildup. It was also the first time since any records began being that the glaciers did not shrink during the summer months,” according to the report.
The biggest shrinkage witnessed in the region occurred between 1741 and 1900, during which the glaciers lost about 15 per cent of their total mass as the earth began to exit the climatological period coined the Little Ice Age.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but CO2 spewing cars and jumbo jets were not too prevalent in the 18th and 19th centuries.
And now that the planet has naturally exited a warming trend and is heading towards a new “big chill,” as evidenced by the near complete halt in sunspot activity, the glaciers are expanding once again.
Years more growth in the Alaskan glaciers “might mark the beginning of another Little Ice Age,” notes the report.
The expansion of the glaciers follows a similar occurrence in the Arctic, which has undergone an ice cover growth twice the size of Germany in the past year, a gain of about thirteen percent following a colder than usual year.
Man-made global warming adherents have attempted to downplay such instances as aberrations that defy a wider warming trend, but in reality no global warming has been observed since at least 1999 or even 1995, as University of Finland professor Jarl R. Ahlbeck maintains.
Evidence that the planet is tip-toeing towards the onset of a new mini ice age continues to present itself following unprecedented ice storms in Kenya as well as Sydney experiencing its coldest August for 60 years.
The cold snap arrives on the back of the Sun reaching a milestone not observed in nearly 100 years - the entire month of August passed without a single sunspot being noted.
Lack of solar activity in 2008 has coincided with evidence of a cooling trend across the world.

Earlier this year, China experienced its coldest winter in 100 years while northeast America was hit by record snow levels and Britain suffered its coldest Easter in decades as late-blooming daffodils were pounded with hail and snow on an almost daily basis. The British summer also left many yearning for global warming, with temperatures in June and July rarely struggling to get over 16 degrees and on one occasion even dropping as low as 9 degrees in the middle of the afternoon.
Many parts of the U.S. suffered their coldest April on record. Canada had its third coldest April since 1970.
“Summer heat continues in short supply, continuing a trend that has dominated much of the 21st Century’s opening decade,” reports the Chicago Tribune. “There have been only 162 days 90 degrees or warmer at Midway Airport over the period from 2000 to 2008. That’s by far the fewest 90-degree temperatures in the opening nine years of any decade on record here since 1930.”
According to an Associated Press report, The Farmers Almanac is now also predicting “below-average temperatures for most of the U.S.” The publication boasts of an 85 per cent accuracy rate for its forecasts which are given two years in advance.
According to a report from the World Meteorological Organization last month, the first half of 2008 was the coolest for at least five years, adding that it may actually be the coolest since 2000.
Man-made advocates have been losing credibility in recent months on the back of bizarre proposals to fight climate change that include blocking out the sun with spaceships as well as eviscerating pristine old growth forests, despite wider evidence of a cooling trend that is just beginning to manifest itself.

you can’t really draw too many conclusions from a single year, one way or the other. the worrisome thing is the decay in magnetic earth resonance. that would seem to indicate a pole shift, if you go by the ferrous magnetism record of mid-atlantic ridge spreading. whatever is going on, the weather is getting more chaotic.

When I was a kid it would get in the 100s. We had a summer two years ago that it didn’t even get above 90 degrees one time the whole year.

Ha,ha. I was just in Alaska this last July on vacation and let me tell you the glaciers are doing just fine. I saw no shortage of them from the ground and air and they are quite amazing to see in person. Don’t worry people they are still there and healthy as ever.

Correct me if I’m out of my mind but…as a life long resident of Los Angeles, this summer was absolutely perfect with only a few really hot days in early June. The winters have been wetter the last few years and the air seems fresher. I am a runner and spend a lot of time outdoors, intimately connect to my environment. The guys who can’t even get the weather right for the next 36 hours are trying to tell me what it will be like in 36 years? What a bunch of NWO hogwash.

Watch/read the news and listen to/understand what the Global Warming people are now saying about the current weather data, Climate Change. They are changing the terminology so that it doesn’t matter if it gets cooler/warmer, they still get their agenda through.

I enjoy and appreciate the work being done by this website for the most part ;however, as I’ve been visiting the site more often I’ve come across more and more biased journalism among the writers on this forum. It is beginning to seem as though the people who leave the comments here and the actual authors of these articles have their minds made up that everything is a conspiracy (and their own variety). We all need to stop for a moment and identify the route causes of our current situation….in this country (USA)…as well as the rest of the world. First of all global warming or climate change is all but proven. I too venture to the outdoors daily. In fact, I mainly work outdoors as a carpenter…and do you know what …duh it’s cold in the winter…. every winter. Also it is known by all of you that Chewbacca is a Wookie :therefore, O.J. is innocent. This really is a non issue. Climate change shall inevitably be a problem that humans and all other living things will have to deal with. Let us please get back to the main issues of our society that have lead to this and many other unthinkable errors in judgement….. Greed/money, lust for power and/or control, those with power using the fears of society as a form of control ( religion), the ends justifying the means mentality of powerful nations, our government ignoring we the people, the toxic chemicals we ingest in order to save corporations money, war – sending our children with better and better weapons to kill our way to victory and at the same time generating massive amounts of money for the defense industry so we can make better weapons all the while securing these countries natural resources for ourselves so we can make more weapons and so on and on and on, and of course, let us not forget, our media… our fearless watchdog journalists bought up buy a handful of corporations and basically censored, they were supposed to protect us… I mean.. this has got to be one of the most important occupations…. I am thankful for this site, I just wish the content was a bit more diverse, as well as the readers, because when all of the comments are just sucking up to the authors view, I become a bit more hesitant. your right climate change is natural but we have an opportunity to expand our energy source to renewable clean energy and ween ourselves of the crack addiction we call oil. It’s not a question of warming or cooling it’s a health issue of cancer and bronchial infections that is my concern with it.
in regards to the rest of your insight, you can fight a battle with these people, plane and simple you will lose. Not only will you lose but you will ruin all the efforts that we are putting forth because of these lies.
Just remember the more they tax us the more we will come up with solutions to not use there sources of power.
Think of all the technological advances that we now have access to because of engineers and scientists working together to bring solutions.

Look Al Gore is more brains then personality, but you have to admit any circumstances that we have been hit with in the past 8 years, we would have been better off with him at the helm. We didn’t need a frat boy to win the war (as the proof is in the results), we needed a person who was capable of coming up with a plan, who understood the necessity for diplomacy. He already had a crash course on the presidency because he was vice president for 8 years, NO ONE COULD REFUTE THAT FACT.
I also believe Al Gore does have a passion for the environment, and we probably would have went forward in reducing the amount of oil we require on a daily basis, relieving our so called energy crisis.
Gore isn’t perfect and is totally a slave to the scientist research on the subject, however I think his intentions are in the right place and therefore make HIM more credible then you (INFOWARS)
Good people do bad things Al Gore might have had suspect science in his movie, But infowars has been shelling out s--- by the bucket full and has totally compromised it’s reputation time and time again. Alex Jones has neither the back round in geology or meteorology to be commenting on it. It would be nice if he actually used expert testimony instead of personal opinion.
He doesn’t even have a history degree, so what makes him the accurate historian that he makes himself out to be. I could respect the fact that events in our history have been misconstrued however to assume that Alex was the one to uncover it is simple a farce. Sure he could do research on the subjects but I doubt he spends a lot of time doing research anymore.

Look, CO2 buildup is higher than it has ever been in the last 400,000 years. How is this bulls--- science. Are ice cores also bulls--- science? It seems like this website doesn’t give a s--- about our environment and what the hell does any of it have to do with NWO. It’s a fact we are f---ing our environment bad every day. No one knows for sure what will happen, but CO2 on Mauna Loa is up to almos 400 ppm and it never got above 300ppm during the warmest times in the last 400,000 years. It has gone from 290ppm to 380ppm in the last 100 years. This is more than a cyclical thing and whatever happens as a result will be bad. Clearcutting forests, spewing out CO2 is bad. You people who think otherwise are just idiots..

Remember give a hoot… don’t pollute? No matter what you think about CO2…It is still a good idea. But we should be focusing on the real culprits that effect our health, like PCB’s, PAH’s, heavy metals, pestacides and pharmaceutics that are making their way into our food, water and air. Who cares if the ice melts… if the whole planet is a toxic waste dump… don’t believe me…google Endocrine Disruption… it’s a fun subject.
If you want to learn about real environmentalism, read a book like Silent Spring… The people pushing man-made global warming are the same crowd that would say someone like Rachel Carson is a murderer…because she got DDT, banned. DDT kills mosquitos and prevents malaria, but it also kills birds by weakening their egg shells…. Many people in high power would say, the ends justify the means– that we should cover the globe with DDT… to save the 800,000 children that die each year from malaria… at the expense of all the birds, mind you…but who cares they likely come from bad gene pools… they do have “birdbrains” don’t they?
The truth is…. big business doesn’t care about the birds or the third world children …. it cares about selling a billion drums of DDT. Period.
As long as we don’t burn down all the rain forests, CO2 won’t be a problem… oh wait, scratch that. As long as we don’t overgraze the land, and allow mineral rich topsoil to flow into the ocean, where it alters the pH and salinity of the ocean, preventing it from storing CO2, it won’t ever be a problem… oh wait….too late.
I guess since we’re not interested in protecting any of the natural “God-given” carbon sinks that have worked for 4 billion years… we should start thinking of ways to bottle this stuff up…. Oh I get it now… that’s why they’re cramming the police state down our throats…. and up our tailpipes!
Next, I’m sure they’ll figure out how to cap volcanos and hydrothermal vents… instead of addressing the real problem….which sucks for profit.

GMO “designer seed ” farming will be a problem before global warming.. The initial intent was herbicides that saved fuel that could be used on plants that the herbicides would not effecrt..
Example.. Corn in itself is a form of grass.. a weed.. They designed “Roundup tolerant corn seed”.. now the weeds that the herbicides were designed to kill without harming the corn crop are becomeing tolerant of the herbicides..leading to stronger herbicides..etc. and the cycle begins…
Bythe way… 60% of the world is consuming GMO source food items at present.. May want to study up and deal with one crisis at a time..beginning with the ones you can get your hands on..

Because the earth has gone through cyclical ice ages and warming periods and the CO2 has never gotten higher than 300ppm before about 100 years ago when we started using technology to massively change the face of the earth.
What exactly the new high average CO2 will do is not exactly known. That is why they have changed it from Global Warming to Climate Change. For all practial purposes, it looks like if the temperatures follow the CO2 chart they way they did for hundreds of thousands of years, we are in for some very hot times in the future. On the other hand, nature may rebound in ways unknown.
When glaciers melt and chunks fall off, they cool the certain sections of ocean which cool continents. One of the predictions of a global warming model is that Europe will get much colder for a while.
In science noone really knows the absolute future, but you do know the current facts. Currently we are f---ing ourselves with our technology.
Hey if your’e upset about carbon tax, then don’t use carbon and live with nature, off the grid, and hunt, fish, and grow your own food. If your’e still worrying about carbon tax, you are behind the times. The time is past due to come out of Babylon already. So go ahead and stay and argue about scientific facts that might make you pay an extra tax.

Wikipedia have a ton of qualified scientists who dispute warming / climate change being caused by CO2. And talking about “living off the grid” — well get a grip bozo. Just try to take the family into the woods and see what social services thinks of that. And in general #86, only an idiot would think there was anything permanent about climate change, or that it can our should be stopped. #86, pumping money into the economy only causes inflation if the value of the money injected exceeds the value of the total production of the economy. Obviously, if the economy produced $1 billion worth of goods through production, but wages only equaled $200M, you have a discrepancy that needs to be made up with more credit — and in the absence of credit (like right now) — more cash. It’s something most people have never thought of, but this is why there are credit cards, mortgages, loans, government social programs, the military industrial complex, etc. This unholy union between governments and the bankers must be broken. So injecting money itself is not inflationary UNLESS it exceeds the value of the production of a nation.

The water temperatures on average in Hawaii are 2.5 degrees warmer in the past 50 years. The arctic regions had less ice in the past two years than any year in history. The antarctic ice shelves are collapsing at a rate 50 times faster than predicted by global warming scientists 30 years ago. People who say the earth is cooling are like people who say that 911 was committed by 19 hijackers and a guy in a cave.
I am not arguing the case for the supposed fixes to global warming because I agree with you that mostly they are bulls---. However I can see for myself in my short lifetime the results. The reefs I dive are dying more and more everyday, the fish are disapearing. You don’t believe me, talk to some locals in Hawaii, Tahiti, or Tonga and you’ll understand the enormity of the problem.

Thinking that way, let’s ignore it, or better yet, clearcut some more forests, kill some more reefs, spew some more exhaust. That way, we’ll never have to worry about the NWO f---ing all of us. What you’re referring to (i think) is probably the way the atlantic current moves warm / cold water and how it affects the weather in europe. Yes, glaciers can alter the ocean temperature. Hell, I heard about a huge glacial shelf that broke off of the west coast of Antarctica. Real big, 160 square miles (which is 0.01% of the total ice cover of antarctica). What that news report DID NOT mention, was how the rate of glacier growth on the east side of Antarctica has been speeding up. Article here:

I still don’t understand your logic here. Honestly I was trying to figure out what % of 4.6billion equates to 400,000. Since my pc calc barfed every time i tried, had to use the good ole pen and paper… You’re trying to tell me that your data is relevant because it represents approximately 0.00001% of the earth’s history. Hell, I’ll give you the whole pre-cambrian… So I’ll take out those 4 billion years, which means you gain an ENTIRE decimal point! 0.0001%!!!
Now, lets make a comparison. Let’s say you are going to make a statement about the US economy based on ONE day’s worth of graphs. Just one. No more history. I’d agree with that. I’d much rather go out by my own hand, than let the NWO turn me into a mindless slave. Part of the reason i’m “debating” with you is to try and broaden your perspective. If you are open to new ideas, you become part of the hope of the world.
I think there comes a point in every person’s life where they have to stop and evaluate what they believe. I came to this point 4 or 5 years ago. It wasn’t easy, because every time I found something that invalidated one belief, or idea, it would also invalidate another. Sometimes it’s easier to start from scratch than to try and repair something. Therefore, I’ve become pretty skeptical about anything I see on the news (FauxNews, Clinton News Network, et al).
You’ve posted on this website, so you’re either here to shout your ignorance from the rooftops so we all can laugh at you, or you are here because you have seen or heard something that isn’t kosher with your current perception of the world.

Check out Al Gore’s ice core graphs in his inconvenient truth. It is clearly a propaganda attempt to mislead. The charts of ice and co2 are depicted next to each other. If you transpose the two charts it becomes obvious that the rise in co2 is an effect of a warmer earth period.
The co2 increases after the ice retreats (by about 800 years point to point chronlogically).
Therefore the Al Gore version is an attempt to mislead and reverse the evidence.
Try to bear in mind that just in Alaska there are currently two active volcanos emitting more green house gas then the entire global arbon footprint. You also have millions of tons of methane (25 times more potent than co2 as a green house gas) which is entering the atmosphere from frozen tundra across millions of square kilometres. This is CAUSED by the warming effect of the sun.
150 years ago the river Thames in London regularly froze over in winter and large Christmas fairs were held on the frozen river. How many time has it frozen over in the last 100 years?
Greenland was colonised by Danish vikings in the 1200s and archilogical finds clearly show that crops similar to those currently grown in northern Europe were cultivated there seasonally clearly showing that the temprature must have been at leas 5-7 centrigrade above current levels 800 years ago.
Isn’t it a little strange that this warming occurred without any human activity input (if you rule out cooking fires) and that vast swathes of the world DIDN’T become uninhabitable or sea levels rising to castasprophic levels).
The entire thrust of the global warming scam is to create a tax revenue to fund a one world government. They picked this one because they can blame the population in general. This is typical for the NWO cabal who also preach that inflation is caused by excessive wage claims for workers driving up costs when it is caused deliberately to transfer wealth by thier private banks!

Post 105 I would have to disagree with you there; I dont believe in global warming and I dont even drive.
There is absolutely no evidence for global warming as what is being pushed by the media exept that the earth does appear to go through natural stages of warming and cooling.
Global cooling happened for a few decades in the 15 -1600’s the “Little Ice Age”. It also happened in the early 1800s with one year (1816) where it snowed well into summer and people started calling it Eighteen Hundred and Froze to Death.
Not caused by pollution but by earth’s natural cycles.
Is anyone here old enough to remember the “global cooling” media scare in the ’70’s? Because the global average temperature had dropped a fraction of a degree since about 1940. And everyone was getting so hopped up about a coming ice age.
Well they are doing it again with global warming. With just as little evidence to back them up.
