Global Warming Bill Would Inflict New Great Depression

A new bill aimed at combating global warming currently being considered by the Senate would, if passed, inflict a new great depression on America by reducing GDP by 6.9 percent – a figure comparable with the economic meltdown of 1929 and 1930.
The shocking consequences of the Lieberman-Warner legislation, known as America’s Climate Security Act, were revealed by the Environmental Protection Agency’s economic analysis of the bill this week, which forecast a whopping $2.9 trillion would be shaved off the economy by the year 2050.
In comparison, despite the fact that America is teetering on the brink of a recession or is already in one according to many experts, GDP still increased by 0.7 percent in 2007. Imagine what effect a -6.9 percent swing would have – an economy ten times worse than it is now.
As JunkScience.com’s Steven Milloy highlights, "For more perspective, consider that during 1929 and 1930, the first two years of the Great Depression, GDP declined by 8.6 percent and 6.4 percent, respectively."
And what would we get for such a massive self-inflicted wound? It ought to be something that is climatically spectacular, right? You be the judge.
The EPA says that by the year 2095 — 45 years after GDP has been slashed by 6.9 percent — atmospheric carbon dioxide levels would be 25 parts per million lower than if no greenhouse gas regulation were implemented.
Keeping in mind that the current atmospheric CO2 level is 380 ppm and the projected 2095 CO2 level is about 500 ppm, according to the EPA, what are the potential global temperature implications for such a slight change in atmospheric CO2 concentration?
Not much, as average global temperature would only be reduced by a maximum of about 0.10 to 0.20 degrees Celsius, according to existing research.
Sacrificing many trillions of dollars of GDP for a trivial, 45-year-delayed and merely hypothetical reduction in average global temperature must be considered as exponentially more asinine than the dot-bombs of the late-1990s and the NINJA subprime loans that we now look upon scornfully.
Add to this the fact that, as climate cult alarmists are loathe to admit, ice core samples clearly show that carbon dioxide is a consequence of temperature increase and not a cause of it, sometimes lagging behind by as much as 800 years, and the whole issue starts to look even more hair brained.

Global temperatures have remained reasonably flat since a decline in 1998 and cooling trends are now being observed despite the fact that carbon dioxide levels have increased in the atmosphere (see graph at left).
Indeed, the latest evidence from climatological surveys shows that the earth’s upper oceans and the troposphere, the primary indicators of climate change, have not been warming for the last 4 years.
Meanwhile, places like Saudi Arabia and China have experienced their coldest winters for decades if not a hundred years plus.
On the whole, the world is getting colder (see above), which is why "global warming" suddenly became "climate change" when temperature levels since 2003 started to prove the alarmists wrong.
Once again, the enviro-mentalists are proposing measures that would make life hell for the poor and middle classes and completely ransack the economy while creating global financial instability that would make today’s problems look like a walk in the park – all based on the justification of saving the planet from a potential 0.10 degrees Celsius increase in temperature that isn’t even guaranteed because the science behind it is complete bunk.
In another example of outright frothing lunacy, NASA climate scientist Dr. James E. Hansen recently issued a report that called for phasing out coal power completely by the year 2030.
"An initial 350 ppm CO2 target may be achievable by phasing out coal use except where CO2 is captured and adopting agricultural and forestry practices that sequester carbon. If the present overshoot of this target CO2 is not brief, there is a possibility of seeding irreversible catastrophic effects," states the report.

As the Business and Media Institute points out, coal fired plants account for no less than 50 percent of all electricity generated in the United States. To eliminate coal use would completely cripple the global economy and lead soaring energy costs to at least a doubling of current levels.
As we reported earlier this month, a recent Carnegie Institution report calls for carbon emissions to be reduced to near zero in order to combat global warming, despite the fact that such a move would return man to the stone age if not end civilization as we know it and kill billions.
The proposal was afforded serious gravitas by news outlets like the Washington Post absent even a passing mention of what its disastrous consequences would be for humanity.

im from new zealand and ive been following alex’s docos and articles on infowars, i completely agree with you guys! the part about the ‘global warming’ changing to ‘climate change’ is so true, the use of those words is a joke now a days. Global warming is nothing but propaganda. During the industrial revolutions since 1940 – 1980 when the co2 level had increased exponentially, the temprature records show that the earth actually cooled down and not heat up. The elite are not as smart as they think they are.

In the US I believe all that the power grabbers want is to push the NAU right up our rearends,25 yrs ago we were going to freeze ice age coming,then one morning I woke to we are going to slow roast,hell the next thing we are going to implode or some such nonsense. In 600 days, R-22 (Air Conditioning refrigerant) will stop being processed. In order to repair your air conditioner, you going to have to throw the one you have away for the R-410A refrigerant air conditioners. You better have a fat wallet, you’re going to need it ! Now, that’s global warming !

First of all, there would never be an elimination of Carbon and fossil fuel use without first having technologies to replace the nonrenewable energy sources with renewable ones. And second of all, it’s absolutely ludicrous to compare a cold winter with a cooling climate. Weather is NOT climate. Weather is local, and immediate. For those of you who don’t know, climate is weather over DECADES. There is BLATANT evidence of warming over the past 2,000 years, it’s called a hockey stick graph, and if there is anyone who is prepared to argue this point, feel free. I will destroy any “points” you can make.

RC, go to the UK… argue/debate them. If you are SO KNOWLEDGEABLE, why haven’t I seen you on TV clearing it up, once and for all? The court in the UK has already shot down the major points. Hundreds of the so called experts who were cited by the UN’s IPCC have come out and denied concurring with it.
Specifically explain how cutting OUR carbon emissions here in the U.S. and moving all our factories to third world countries where there are NO restrictions- is going to do anything more than just transfer this so called bad CO2 gas that is so evil to another country?

There is evidence of a Sixth Mass Extinction event in progress,
maybe ending in the demise of a few unimportant species, like the human and other bugs,
this could possibly be due to slight human underpopulation pressures on ecosystems and global climate not-being-the-same as static for ever.
There also might possibly be an actual damaging long-term change in climate, largely caused by human factors, such as respiration and burning stuff, resulting in exiting things, like mega-death.

One more thought about the geen house gas effect from “respiration and burning stuff” and stuff.
If it were possible that these gases do have some sort of magical heat reflective powers, the question then becomes what is the source of the heat. Answer… the sun… yup it is the sun heating the earth.
Now if these gases were to really somehow have these magical heat reflective powers, wouldn’t they reflecting them back towards the source of the heat. If that is the case then these magical gases are reflecting heat back into space. And the result of that would be… thats right kiddies… global cooling!!!!

i think this is a little off. most of your articles i agree with you but you’re not considering everything in this piece.
firstly, i would like to see some reports on how exactly the gdp would decrease by 6.9 percent. if coal plants and gasoline combustion engines are cut from the equation gradually, they would have to be replaced with other forms of energy production, creating an entirely new, mammoth industry. and since the growth of this new industry would have to equal the decrease in the other, 6.9% is kind of far fetched.
and how exactly do you imagine billions of people would be killed in the process of cutting carbon emissions to zero? i dont think anyone wants people to just stop breathing to cut the emissions, and civilized peoples survived for thousands of years without combustion engines belching noxious fumes.
drastic measures clearly arent necessary if we’ve already passed the “tipping point,” but a cut back would not only help the environment if it is in fact being effected adversly by the emissions and squelch our dependance on fossil fuels and thus our puppet strings will be cut.

In a Greenhouse, plants grow a lot quicker with a little added Heat and CO2,
to make it nice and warm.
Adding CO2 in a greenhouse never ever makes it colder, only warmer, hence the name Greenhouse Gas.
Plants generally grow quicker when its warm, also, plants generally grow slightly quicker with higher CO2 levels, within a narrow optimal growth bandwith.
When the ambient greenhouse temperature gets too high, or the CO2 levels increase too much, or both, plants dont like it and grow less well.
Plants absorb CO2 from the air when growing,
so the CO2 concentration in a greenhouse must be continously
monitored and replenished, or it will drop too low for optimal growth
These processes have been observed very clearly in a Greenhouse,
the poor climate scientists simply assume it works the same way for our planets atmosphere.
The CO2 Molecule seems to be Opaque to infrared radiation, or heat rays,
bouncing them back from whence they came.
This is Quantum physics, and beyond me, but its probably true.
Now, Maybe, when the Sun Rays hit our planet atmosphere from space,
most of the light and the broader electromagnetic spectrum, I blindly hypothesize,
is Not in Infrared, and so most of the energy passes through the CO2-rich air layers and hits the surface.
Then, perhaps, on the way back up/out, the planets surface irradiates some heat rays
back out into the atmosphere, as always,
but with some EM-radiation that may not have been IR on the way in,
but now is IR on the way out, which is now progressively more blocked by extra molecules CO2, so the Infrared goes bouncing back down for another go.
There could possibly be an actual physical mechanism for the observed/made up
correlation between CO2 increase and higher Temperature in the Atmosphere/Hydrosphere
An unrelated increase in Global Temperature Could also Release more CO2 from the various systems, there are certain feedbacks in oceanic plankton, and such mysterious things, resulting in a warmer planet Causing increase in CO2, but the other way is also perfectly possible, but more likely, and happening now, say science people.
I’m just a sterile drone, loyally serving my masters, I just dont know about such things,
but there may be some validity in the theory of Anthropogenic ( Manmade) Global Warming

We have the same spraying going on , in Peterborough Ont Canada And its been worse in the past two months ,and since 2002.Theres our tax dollars at work for you.And here it is ,good friday,and lord and behold,they are spraying.I feel that this is the biggest issue we have,and i did go to,our goverment member here,to ask,what and why?They had a real good laugh when i left,i seen them.You can see if there real clouds or not,look at the clouds near the sun,put on sun glasses,you will see a red blue and yellow spectrum,thats a chem trial.I hope the pilots sleep good at night.Wake up idiots your kids are talking it in to

Get ready for the perfect storm, a tidal wave involving global warming policy, a tidal wave involving the banking crisis and a tidal wave involving the war in the middle east.
It seems that everything we are doing these days only contributes to “the perfect storm” and I truly believe the only solution will be to surrender to formation of the NWO, or for this nation to go back to the principles this nation was originally founded upon.
That is, secure our borders & grant no amnesty, quit off shoring our high tech and good jobs, increase manufacturing in this country, balance the budget and go back to a gold & silver standard where the US Treasury and Congress determine the value of the dollar, start using 1st word dictionary definitions in all legal documents and penalize those who don’t under a new law called the Pinochio Act, make fascism a jailable offense for all politicians and corporate heads, no national ID card, quit fighting mercenary wars and war profiteering, eliminate “classified document status” other than ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL INFORMATION under the review of duly elected and sword to silence individuals and put it in time capsules with a mandatory 10 year release date.

I keep trying to explain it in simple terms and it’s actually quite simple.
Basically we have been psychologically screwed so hard, that everything has become inverse.
Communism, as one example does this and Karl Marx’s, Communist Manifesto is very good reading to understand some of the bench marks.
One example is where the State impersonates the role of head of house, using laws to overpower what the parents want and would choose for their kids. This is done gradually, as the State provides all clothing, education, food, medical care and career selection for each individual, along with State beliefs about marriage and sexual orientation. The parent are not allowed to have any say in these matters. At the same time anything like the church which can empower individuals with an unyielding moral compass, or a parental instincts which are based upon full guardianship by the parents is outlawed, forcing the kids to totally dependent on the State, as the State fully impersonates the birth parents roles, that’s psychologically speaking.
The kids become confused as their inner hardware program psychologically gravitates toward the State and government institutions, as if that was their loving and punishing parent. They do not love or know God and psychologically love the State as if it was their own family blood line. Girls raised on this cry miserably when they are women and a high-official dies, because they are psychologically confused and feel as if their real father had died. And the sad truth is, they were taught their real father was a bum, as made out to be just a fool and not an adult man, that they ended up taking away when he fought for civil rights. And the propaganda makes all of this seem normal.
This is just one example of the many angles that can be applied and today America is saturated with role reversals that make us all crazy, for which only booze and pills can numb the pain for only so long. People get sick from living like that and they blame themselves and each other to the delight of the real puppeteers.
The real truth is mainstream is further from the truth and it’s getting to the point one needs a lawyer to advise them about what they may say in public, as if it’s all perfectly correct and legal like this. WTF is going on, is that everyone is insane and does not know it as the puppeteers try to feed us the new program in the form of Global Fascism, which is in total conflict with healthy human instincts and love. This is not so we can survive as a race, it’s so the greedy can squeeze more out of humanity, other than the rich getting richer and now there really is a war on for YOUR mind and everyone elses.
It’s happening because this market potential is bigger than anything the human race has ever been tempted by and our leaders are off and running with the big plan.

Mgodin, you are not an astute student of the word and you have not rightly divided the word, there is no precedence of rapture in the old testament, therefore, in that it is one of the two witnesses in which there must be in all things including treason, there is no rapture, the word is not in the scripture, it is a communist constructed imparted in the early 1900s to pacify the American populace and the world so that they would not resist when this great and terrible day comes. If there is no word in the old testament to reinforce or substantiate the new, it is not so but a construct of man, if it is in contravention to the word and will of the Father, who’s word the Messiah came to fulfill and destroy the traditional law of the Talmud, it is not so, it is a ruse, subterfuge of the wicked one to beguile man into subjugation of the wicked one!

Theres so much turmoil and Chaos in other country’s lives at the time, It’s Like the story’s My Dad Told me what it was Before WWll. It’s scarier than hell is sounds soo much like what he was telling me it was. Banks were Failing and Job shortage situations were Heating up. Attack of Pearl Harbor Brought him into the War. Immigrants were doing there Part LEGALLY gaining citizenships and HONORING what this country stood for! Most NEVER asked for a handout. They WORKED and Had PRIDE. EVERYONE should join(infiltrate) the Feds/Police/Sheriff/Troopers/Corrections/Military/Security departments.
This will help us in two MAJOR ways.
1. We could get the training/experience/firearms/equipment from them, and try to recruit more people to be Christians/Truthers and open their eyes to the New World Order.
2. When the Elite send down their orders, we can refuse them(reducing their strong arm) and even fight it off(not many cops would shoot a fellow officer, regardless of the order).

Thank you Dave and mashalomka Aki! Very good post. The true way and observance of His feasts and festivals and restoring the name is spreading, not as much or as fast as we’d like, but people are tired of the same old tired churchianity and the hungry ones open their ears to the truth! For others the truth literally hurts and they cast it down like a disease.
My own daughter who used to be a beautiful believer, albeit a babtist as I was then, now actually shakes when she comes to my church, it’s as thoughthere’s an unbareable force presing on her nervous system and she leaves at the ealiest opportunity. She’s now living in the world, she is waking upi but still rejects the Most High having been brainwashed by the public school system, I had her in private school for a while, “long story,” but at least she knows I am tellling her the truth regarding the NWO, and that seems to be the story for most unbelievers, the veil of ignorance is strong!

Nothing to do with Biblical or Christian foundations.Citing the Bible is great-when it’s rational and in context.Hectoring dissenters with intolerant threats is not worthy of the memory of the Prince of Peace.Atheist? Redlister,since there are over 7 million Muslims in the USA,I’d say we have an untapped reservoir of Truthers who don’t need to be convinced like the general public about any of this 9/11 stuff.Since the whole charade was designed to demonize them specifically they have no illusions about why,who,what and if.It’s so difficult for them to speak out,it must be a torment of sorts to see the public go for the propaganda.We must give them a lot of hope that they will be redeemed in the eyes of America and the real perpetrators will come to justice.
