Government has singled out and specifically attacked the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments. However, for the global elite and their minions in government, this piecemeal approach is too slow and often results in organized resistance and legal challenges.
So the global elite have decided on another tactic — change forever the Constitution and the Bill of Rights through a Constitutional Convention.
Article Five of the United States Constitution provides an option to assemble a national Convention to propose amendments to the Constitution as an alternative to the process of securing two-thirds approval in both houses of Congress.
Remarkably, thirty two states have called for a Constitutional Convention — allegedly to add a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution – and it takes thirty four to begin the process.
If you have not heard about this, it is not a mistake — the corporate media is not reporting on it. A Google News search produces no stories on the subjected published by the mainstream media.
“A public policy organization has issued an urgent alert stating affirmative votes are needed from only two more states before a Constitutional Convention could be assembled in which ‘today’s corrupt politicians and judges’ could formally change the U.S. Constitution’s “problematic” provisions to reflect the philosophical and social mores of our contemporary society,’” writes Bob Unruh for WorldNetDaily.
“Don’t for one second doubt that delegates to a Con Con wouldn’t revise the First Amendment into a government-controlled privilege, replace the 2nd Amendment with a ‘collective’ right to self-defense, and abolish the 4th, 5th, and 10th Amendments, and the rest of the Bill of Rights,” Unruh quotes the American Policy Institute (API).

API was successful in stalling a vote on a Constitutional Convention in Ohio, thanks to the Constitution and Libertarian parties of Ohio that testified against the bill. “Members from Campaign for Liberty, Ohio Freedom Alliance, We Are Change Ohio, John Birch Society, Institute for Principled Policy, Constitution Party of Ohio, and the Libertarian Party of Ohio showed up in support [and] most of them testified,” reports the PeaceChicken blog.
“After seeing how many of us came, Committee Chairman Blessing changed his mind and decided not to vote on it today. In fact, he acted like it was a mistake that the paper said ‘possible vote.’ [Teri Owens of the Central Ohio John Birch Society] thinks it’ll probably be voted on at the next committee meeting (which will also probably not include further testimony) so we’ll need to keep watching.”
WorldNetDaily should be commended for reporting on this important story neglected by the corporate and much of the alternative media. Unfortunately, WorldNetDaily writer Bob Unruh turns the article into an anti-Obama screed and leans heavily on the false right-left paradigm to make his points, including Obama’s disingenuous calls for wealth redistribution and so-called political and economic justice. In 2001, Obama told Chicago’s public station WBEZ-FM that “redistributive change” is needed.
One has to wonder if Obama’s economic advisors — including Robert Rubin, director and senior counselor at Citigroup, and Timothy F. Geithner, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York — are up to speed on taking money from their rich friends and giving it to the poor who voted for Obama.
Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Institute warns that the ultimate outcome of a new con con “will likely be a new constitution, one that would possibly eliminate the Article 1 restriction to the coinage of real money or even eliminate gun or property rights.”
In fact, this is the real goal of the globalists behind the con con scheme: to eliminate gun ownership and turn other god-given rights into state granted privileges that can be easily restricted or taken away entirely. Outlawing firearm ownership in America is part of a larger agenda to dismantle and destroy the United States of America from within and the global elite cannot turn the country into a third world cesspool so long as millions of Americans are armed.
DeWeese told WND that a Constitutional Convention would be “our worst nightmare in an age when you’ve got people who believe the Constitution is an antiquated document, we need to have everything from controls on guns … all of these U.N. treaties … and controls on how we raise our children.”
For now, a few dedicated people in Ohio have managed to delay another state from joining the push for a con con under the cover of a Balanced Budget Amendment, but as the blogger PeaceChicken notes, the government of Ohio will continue to push HJR 8 calling for a Constitutional Convention. It is up to activists and concerned citizens in Ohio to make sure this bill is defeated and the global elite is not allowed to eviscerate the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Was wondering when they were going to get around to this. I think it cam at the end of the 90’s when they realized that the American public would never actually buy the idea that the 2nd Amendment was for the National Guard or to protect hunting rifles. Masters of red tape that they are, the NWO has figured out that the Constitution will always stand in their way, and so it must be changed. This will not end well.

Some of the states that have already issued a call are:
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

Anything can be removed, altered or repealed. The constitution and bill of rights are just that. They CAN be altereted, they CAN be removed. One really fast way is to just declare martial law and on the spot the BOR and constitution are GONE. They are laws, plain and simple. They do define us and some would like to think it impossible that they can be removed… Wrong. That is WHY there is the ability to have a constitutional amendment. All they have to do is switch everything around and your rights are GONE FOREVER.

#13, What are you talking about? “No slaves” was NOT a part of the original constitution. Slavery at time was legal, and the Supreme Court ruled slavery to be constitutional. Not saying we should have slavery. I’m just saying that just because some of them had slaves has zero relation to their support of the constitution. Jefferson, a southern slave owner, did try at one point to get slavery ended. Also, what do you mean by “founders”? The guys who led the break away from England were for the most part a different group of guys from those who put the constitution in place.

Like everyone else who reads and listens to Alex and is aware of all of the NWO scams and tricks, I am seeing red over these “Change or Do Away with the Constitution & Bill of Rights”.
However, I also realize that we must all keeps our collective shirts on, so that we do not fall into any traps set for us to bait us and make us over-react. That would give the NWO Traiters the excuse to Turn it All Around, and say these people are the reason we need to declare this Martial Law etc. Also, we all need to realize that God is Still in Control, and The Prophecies will be fullfilled. I don’t understand why this can’t be a good thing. Why can it not be used to our advantage? Think about it, we would have an opportunity to “repeal” the 16th Amendment and actually strengthen other amendments. We could limit the size of our standing army and funding for defense. This is the opportunity we have been waiting for. This is where we pull out all of the stops and mobilize. We need to study this closer rather than dismiss it out of hand because we think nothing good can come out of it.

Four and counting…
This may be the last posting from yours truly. I sent an email earlier this week to Infowars about suspicious inconsistencies with their “anti-spam” software and whether or not it was an unfortunate technical glitch or selective censorship, I have yet to receive a reply…so this is the the fourth and possibly final posting since the previous three apparently were examples of those “glitches”.
Specific laws governing the U.S. Constitution can be reviewed in Wikipedia and other sources. It provides an overview of what can and cannot be done with regards to any changes to the constitution. No changes can be made without 3/4 (or 39 out of the 50 states approving or “ratifying” said changes. In addition, any changes to the constitution does not alter or remove what already exists even if subsequent passages contradict the existing ones. For example, the 18th Ammendment which prohibited the making, distribution and selling of alcohol is contradicted by the 21st Ammendement which repealed the 18th, nevertheless both ammendments remain within the text of the constitution. In other words, once placed in the constitution no article can be subsequently removed, ever. This gives the constitution enormous flexibility. Any efforts to introduce changes to the constitution does not negate existing articles within it. Therefore, what most would consider unconstituional attempts to “weaken” the constitution are balanced by existing constituional articles.
As for the 2nd Ammendment which deals with the right to possess firearms it is a mixed blessing. Individuals do have the right to possess firearms for the purpose of defending their life, liberty and property but the states have the right to form “militias” which is a government power. Groups of free citizens do not have the right to form such militias, at least it does not say so in the constitution. Anything not in the constitution is regarded as de facto illegal since such acts have not been recognized as constitutional. Therefore, any such groups can be viewed by the government as unconstitutional and dealt with by force.
The right of the individual to defend his liberty is recognized as an individual right. In other words, no organzied armed resistance is recognized as a constitutional act. However, the constituion prevents the governing authority from taking away an individual’s liberty unless such action is constituionally permitted. For example, free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, and free assembly are protected under the first ammendment. Any efforst to arrest, detain or imprison an individual exercising such freedoms is prohibited by this ammendment. The governing authority must provide evidence, obtained legally, see fourth ammendment, to justify taking away an individual’s liberty.
All these ammendments are designed to interact with one another. The 5th and 6th ammendments deal with trials and protection against self-incrimination. It is important to remember that all articles in the constitution are applied on an individual basis. All free citizens have these rights but governments have the constituional authority to apply them on a case by case basis via the judicial system. That is where the concept of freedom breaks down. No governing body is going to permit the constituion be applied to a group or organization since this would make such a group much more difficult to control or restrict. One of the ways around this “loophole” is to resist non-violently through means I have discussed in earlier posts but will reiterate here since this may be my last posting:
1) non-cooperation (refuse to obey orders/instructions or do so with the intent of delaying, disrupting or destroying such instructions)
2) sabatoge (disable or destroy inanimate objects such as power lines, telephone wires, roads and railways)
3) infiltration (secretly or openly through employment, disrupt, disable, delay or destroy installations that provide the means of control)
4) intelligence (gather information, covertly, from the “inside” and pass it on to allies on the “outside” thus preventing or disrupting operations and plans of the controlling power)
5) propaganda (make and distribute posters, flyers, bulletins and, if possible, global news via the internet exposing the views and actions of the controlling power and gain popular support)
These actions do not contradict the constitution since they are non-violent and expressions of first ammendment rights, which, as I early mentioned, cannot be removed from the constituion no matter what articles are included to restrict or eliminate such rights.
In the short term, violent resistance, while understandable and appealing, will be quickly dealt with. In the long term, non-violent actions will eat away at the controlling power’s infrastructure and ability to consolidate and expand. Mass non-violent actions will cause enormous confusion and ineffectiveness and will, eventually, force major concessions and reforms, if not outright collaspe of the controlling power’s structure.
If this is my last posting I would like to say that I have enjoyed spending time here and reading and responding to various postings. I would strongly encourage all of you to continue exercising your right to free speech and encourage others to do so as well.

In the 1980s and 1990s I was an activist working with many other Americans to successfully defeat a call for a constitutional convention. The precedent was set at the one and only constitutional convention in 1787. It was set up to amend the Articles of Confederation and behind closed doors in secrecy it was thrown out and an entirely new document was created: the US Constitution. Next time it will be a globalist document. Why isn’t there a statute of limitations for these state resolutions calling for a con-con? There was one state to go in the 1980s and that was defeated. Another state rescinded its call. In the 1990s the con-con attempt was called the Conference of the States. The agenda of the groups behind the con-con were exposed as globalists wanting a parliamentary government which would allow the president to dissolve Congress – giving him dictatoral power – (just like the Queen dissolved parliament recently). A classic bait and switch: claim the con-con is for a balanced budget amendment when the real goal is a con-con. I remember the amendment itself was a fraud: one section permitted deficit spending! We know the one-worlders want a con-con and would control it. The American people can defeat this if they fight it in every state where there is a threat, just like in Ohio.

Hey alex, I was just wondering, first how many watts does the water unit need? And then the other question is what happened to berkey? I want to share something that is …to me the coolest thing I have learned so far when speaking about the laws, and following them, the coolest verse I can think of. Okay hopefully everyone here knows the verse that goes….”He who practices righteousness, is righteous, just as He (Yahweh) is righteous.
Now the scriptural definition of righteousness is given in Deut 6:25 and it says that keeping the laws, and obedience to those ways/laws will be our righteousness….”if we will keep them (the laws which Moses had just finished reading aloud to all the people)”
So with that said, the way that scripture should read, or what it actually means, using scripture to interpret scripture would be
“He who practices keeping the laws of Yahweh, is righteous, just as Yahweh is righteous”
Now you’ve all heard people when speaking of the law say things like you can’t keep them, or if you just break one law, then you might as well have killed someone, well that is not at all the message that the bible tells us, that is what the Iniquitous (iniquity means = not subject to the Jewish laws, or freedom from the law) preachers tell people because they themselves don’t want to keep the laws, not only that but they’ve not spent enought time studying the laws to even know what they are, making them fools. Anyone who does not know what the laws are, and says that they are impossible to keep is a person who does not understand even the simplest of things.
Well when you study the laws and all the things said by all the prophets about the laws you find that keeping the laws is something that is supposed to start when the child is born and they must be studied so as to be learnt, and then comes the practicing, if you don’t know what they are, you can’t keep them, but it is he who practices keeping them who is a righteous person, and that ought to bring everyone a sigh of relief, the preachers were wrong, and now that you know where to start maybe you can do your own studying and I can tell you that if you do take it upon yourself to learn from the Book of Yahweh he will bless you immensely and it only takes but a few days or weeks to become much more knowledgable than any lying preacher who practices iniquity (teaches that the laws are done away with).
Now that you know what the word iniquity means, then maybe you can understand what it was that the messiah was saying when he spoke of a group of people who are going to say to him “didn’t we do all these wonderful things in your name, casting out demons and all that stuff” and then he’s going to say to them “I never knew you, Get away from me, you who practice iniquity!” He is speaking of all the lying preachers in this world who teach that Jesus nailed the laws to the cross, all the while they know there isn’t one verse anywhere that says anything like that, it is nothing more than rebellion and God-worship.
I challenge anyone to study the laws themselves, or go out and buy a concordance and see what the bible actually says about the laws, see if you can find anywhere where the messiah said that he came to do away with the law, you’ll soon have plenty of questions for your preacher man, and his/her answers will make you laugh, because you will find out that he/she doesn’t read that book at all, maybe just a few lines, the same lines over and over again.
Also Alex, when it is speaking about filthy rags, it is not speaking about everyone, it is speaking about the righteousness of these lying preachers who practice iniquity, not everyone, if you study you will find that he who keeps the laws, is not only righteous, but is the only one promised the right to the tree of life, or eternal life, no one else is promised anything but destruction if they don’t follow the example given to us by Yahshua Messiah, he even went so far as to say that if our righteousness does not exceed that of the ones who killed him, those who follow mans traditions and lies like the talmud or the dreams these preachers tell us that cause us to forget the name of the creator we will by no means enter into the kingdom, so it’s one thing to find out the preachers don’t speak with any authority, and they actually are nothing but decievers, but you must exceed their righteousness if you want to live.
But that’s not that hard if your’e not used to doing evil right? I mean Yahshua said to take his yoke, it is light and not burdensome, and it is the law which is his Yoke, make no mistake in that.

Addendum to #42:
It is important to note that individual expressions of defending one’s liberty can be exercised by many as long as they don’t take on the appearance of organized resistance. Like-minded people can engage in similiar acts of defence and can mutually agree on such actions while still operating independently of each other. In this way non-violent actions are constitutionally protected as individual expressions of defending liberty that are carried out by a large number of free citizens.
In cases where a controlling power (NWO) engage in obvious unconstituional acts, individuals have the constituion right to resist such acts. Doing so violently and on an individual basis is extremely difficult and ultimately futile. Doing so non-violently is far more effective since it only requires a common goal shared by all those participating in it and can be accomplished without the rigidity and hierarchy of an armed resistance movement. In other words, the NWO’s efforts to counter non-violence are far less likely to succeed, certainly on an on-goping basis, than a violent form of resistance which is easily exposed and identified simply by the noise it makes and the overt damage it causes. A free citizen, protected by the constitution, who engages in the non-violent tactics I listed in the previous post, is actively exercising his rights to disable and destroy an unconstitutional power.
One additional tactic I forgot to mention is “persuasion”. Attempts can be made, with extreme caution, to persuade those on the “inside” to join forces with those on the “outside”. This and other tactics will, of course, require extensive training and preparation. Such preparation can be conducted amongst groups without it being unconstitutional since free assembly and free speech are constitutional rights. Freely discussing, with groups of trusted and like-minded citizens, ways in which to non-violently oppose an unconstitutional power are completely protected by the constitution. The NWO will have to use unconstitutional means to oppose it and therefore right from the outset lose the moral and ethical high ground, not to mention the legal and constitutional one as well.

Read the Constitution, Article V. Anything passed by a Convention has to be ratified by 3/4 of the States. In other words, a Convention has no more power to change the Constitution than Congress has every day they’re in session. (Of course this rule was not in force in 1787, because the Constitution was not in force yet.)
Best thing we can do to take back this country is to have a Constitutional Convention. Instead of begging our masters in Washington to reduce their own power, we can take it from them. That’s why the Founding Fathers gave us the Convention….so we could take back power from the Feds, instead of having to beg Congress.
How bout an amendment to make state law trump federal law? You think it might reduce the power of the federal government a bit? You think Congress would pass something like that? With a convention, the states could get that done without needing Congress to agree.
We can use the tools the Founding Fathers gave us to take back this country.

#52, even if the call for a convention started out with good intentions in the 1980’s, to balance the budget, the timing for such a convention now could be disasterous. There is no way for liberty minded individuals to guarantee that the representatives chosen for the convention would truly represent liberty.
First and foremost there needs to be a COMPLETE paradigm shift in thinking for the average American. The ideals of freedom must be rock solid in each and every citizen (or at least a majority) before this convention begins. Now with the public mostly ignorant of the details and intentions of the constitution its basic premises could be completely undermined and the average American would remain ignorant.
It is absolutely essential that a renaissance or enlightenment occur FIRST among the general populace before such a monumental convention be held. If that occurs, then yes a con con would be beneficial, but until that happens it would be shear folly.

The young woman is inccorect that the last constitution convention was not in 1787 but in 1951 to admend term limits on the president. Also There is news about Consitutional Conventions which was on the ballot in Conneticut which the majority of voters said “NO”.
I am determined to think that a consitutional convention should be placed in order to add term limits on the balance of power. The Senate house is becoming the old age home. Senetor Bird since the 1950s which he is now in the late 90’s and hardly can think and speak. How do we know “We the People” that Senetor Bird still has his faculties to legislate or Senetor Kennedey who has a brain tumor. The best was Strom Therman who died in office at the age 100 and he was a senator since the 1940’s. Yet the same can be said about Congressman/congresswoman.
Adding a constutional balance could be tricky business because at most times appropriations must be added quickly to congressional bills to pay out to various institutions within the government.
The there are those who disagree with certain rights within the constituion which those who want to dispose the 2nd Amendment 2 – Right to Bear Arms but it intrudes
The Amendment 16 – Status of Income Tax Clarified should have limited admendments to it. It’s an amendment that justifies to enslave the population.
Example: which is hot topic now, the taxation of $200 a Cattle and other farm animals that are being blamed to be part of the cause climate change. Why? because of the methane next they will intrude in your home and put a tax on your toilet bowl. $5.00 a FLUSH!!!

Third, it becomes very difficult and frustrating to spend a considerable amount of time on a posting and to have that time wasted when it does not appear on this site. If this was a rarity it wouldn’t be so annoying but I’ve calculated at least 10 postings not making it to this site in the last month or so, that’s appoximately 10-15 hours of my valuable time wasted! The uncertainity of postings appearing makes it hard to maintain the enthusiasm. I do have a facebook account but that is restricted to friends, however it is another way to get your message out without relying on someone else’s blog.

The Constitution is not the problem it is the men who are not elected, but are running the federal government. They have and will continue to do unconstitutional things until we stop them. I’m with Mr Hale and others, that it would be best to do it through civil disobedience to unconstitutional laws, but I know that they will still fight us and probably immediately. At that time all bets are off, and you will be required to defend yourself against tyranny, individually and hopefully with your neighbors and friends. As others have said, its best to inform and try and persuade every one to stand up against the coming total enslavement. Let’s not be coy, they are very scared of us, their actions are the telling sign, they spy on peaceful groups who meet, why? they are scared and they will get increasingly more desperate to hang on to the power as our numbers swell and the illusion they so carefully crafted collapses.

Why worry about the Constitutionand the Bill of Rights. The government has trampled them to death. Look at the other things that are occurring while we speak. There is no effective “peacefull”, non-violent method of fighting and defeating “tyrannical rule”! If our forefathers had employed this method the USA would never have existed as a free and sovereign nation. To think otherwise will prove to be fatally delusional. You’r right Ryan. The first allegance is to our Constitution, not some bunch of politicians in Washingtion D.C. I think most of us know that they are traitors. If any outside government worked to destroy our economy and Constitution, it would be an act of war. But we have the boys in Washington and Wallstreet doing just that, and that is an act of treason.
So now we are faced with tough desisions. Our military is faced with tough decisions too. These traitors in Congress and the white house must be brought to justice. They must be arrested and confined in a secure place untill their crimes aganst America have been fully investigated and they have felt the full weight of justice. I fear for what’s coming.

I stand by my statement that the last constitutional convention was in 1787. In 1951 term limits (2) for the president was passed as an amendment to the constitution; it was not a convention. Article V stipulates hat the Constitution can be changed by two ways: either a con-con or an amendment. The globalists love to document everything, and it sticks in their collective craw that – technically speaking at least – the US Constitution is the law of the land and it is a nationalist document and it stands for our sovereignty and protects our God-given rights. We don’t need any amendment saying state laws trumps federal laws. The federal government is only permitted to do what is specifically outlined in the Constitution. To understand a law, one must know the intent of that law. The intent of the Constitution is not only in that document but in its legislative history: James Madison’s notes from the con-con, the Federalist Papers and the state ratification documents all make for fascinating reading.

One would have to be blind to not see the handwriting on the wall at this point. We are spending our way into oblivion and trampling all over the Constitution along the way. I own a couple of small specialty stores and sales of guns and ammo have been through the roof. Never overlook the obvious because it is sort of like tracking a wounded animal in the forest.
The signs of rebellion–are at a minimum resistance–are everywhere. I agree that Americans by and large are fat, dumb and lazy but there is a spirit that continues to exist in an effort to preserve liberty. It will probably take additional prodding but a depression sort of has that effect.

With all due respect, the enemy of the people is the people. Blind trust and apathy permitted the exploitation, infiltration, amassing and posturing. Of course insiders helped along the way (politicians, energy, finance, media, law, military, Corporate, domestic, foreign, etc.) were instrumental. Now it looks like the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are in the cross hairs. Maybe they’re testing the waters, like bailout, but we know how that ended up. The people said NO and the reps say SO. In the end patience, perseverance and a threat of martial law paid off! The end justifies the means. ‘That’s the way it’s going to be, even if it kills you’. Would you rather be dead or poor? And neither isn’t an option!
Peaceful resistances have met with boots on the ground and containment. Most of our armed forces are scattered and not sure where their allegiance lies? Trust is at an all time low. Anger clouds judgment and apathy is the white flag signaling compliance or surrender.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Gaza’s militant Hamas rulers marshaled hundreds of thousands of supporters to a huge anniversary rally on Sunday, a show of muscle featuring a skit of a mock-captive Israeli soldier begging for his freedom.
Marking 21 years since its founding, a triumphant Hamas bragged about its violent exploits, promised more money to Gaza’s impoverished people, and announced it would soon stop recognizing the legitimacy of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who rules only the West Bank now.
Organizers said about 300,000 Hamas supporters crowded into a dusty outdoor arena and spilled over into nearby streets. Many waved flags and sported baseball caps in the Islamic group’s signature green color.
In the skit, Hamas paraded a Palestinian speaking Hebrew and dressed in an Israeli soldier’s uniform — a reference to Israeli Sgt. Gilad Schalit, captured by Hamas-allied militants in June 2006.
“I miss my Mom and Dad,” said the man playing the Israeli soldier, kneeling as he spoke. “Tell Olmert, why don’t you take care of your soldier?”
The capture of Schalit in a June 2006 cross-border raid is an open wound in Israeli society. The taunt at the rally drew condemnation from Israel, which has been indirectly negotiating the soldier’s release with Hamas for the past 2 1/2 years.
A spokesman for the Israeli government, Mark Regev, called the skit “another example of (Hamas) cruelty and inhumanity.”
In comments aired Sunday, exiled Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said a six-month truce with Israel would not be renewed after it expires this week. Interviewed on a Hamas-affiliated Lebanese TV channel, Mashaal did not explicitly threaten renewed attacks, saying instead that Hamas would respond to developments.
On Sunday, Israel closed its passenger crossing with Gaza to journalists in response to Palestinian rocket fire over the weekend. For much of the past month, Israel has banned reporters from entering the territory after militants fired rockets and mortars at Israeli communities.
Hamas, founded in Gaza in December 1987, is sworn to Israel’s destruction and was involved in dozens of suicide bombings that killed more than 250 Israelis. It seized Gaza by force in June 2007 after months of fighting with Abbas’ Fatah forces.
Hamas contends Abbas’ term ends Jan. 8, four years after he was elected president. Abbas has argued that he had an additional year so the presidential term could dovetail with parliament’s.
The huge turnout at the Gaza rally was a pointed display of strength directed at both Israel and Fatah, and further evidence of the Muslim militant group’s unchallenged control over 1.4 million Gazans.
During an hourlong speech, the Hamas Gaza prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, read out a list of construction projects and funds to be distributed to impoverished Gaza residents.
The projects indicate Hamas is still able to smuggle cash through tunnels that crisscross the territory’s border with Egypt — at a time when the Western-backed Abbas government in the West Bank has struggled to pay salaries.
Hamas also bragged of attacks conducted against Israel in the past 21 years, inflating the numbers.
In his speech, Haniyeh said Hamas was only strengthened by Israeli sanctions.
“It is a letter to Obama, to the Zionists and those who stand in the same trenches as them: We say with confidence, you will not be victorious,” Haniyeh said.
The U.S. and other Western countries designate Hamas as a terror organization, but President-elect Barack Obama has not made his position clear.
Also Sunday, Israel said a delayed release of 227 Palestinian prisoners would take place on Monday. The release is a goodwill gesture to Abbas’ Western-backed government.
The prisoners were to be released last week for the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday.

A lot of fearmongering here. First of all, practically all of those applications were made by state legislatures that are no longer in existence to numbered Congresses that are no longer in existence. As such, they would no doubt have little valildity in court. If the balanced budget proponents want a Con Con, they should get as many CURRENT EXISTING legislatures on board and submit applications to the CURRENT Congress.
That said, all a Convention does is propose amendments. It doesn’t rewrite anything. Any amendment coming out of a Convention HAS to be approved by 3/4 of the state legislatures.
The Convention provision was placed in the Constitution as a tool to be used by the people and states when the federal government would find itself hijacked by greedy self-serving interests. Such a state now exists in our country. A solution to this has been proposed at the link below, utilizing a National Constitutional Convention to diffuse the power of the Federal Reserve and establish AUTONOMOUS REGIONAL GOVERNMENT in the process. Regional government already exists; it’s a UN ploy. Executive Order 11647 issued Feb. 10, 1972 under Nixon created 10 federal regional councils each controlled by an appointed federal bureaucrat to improve coordination of the activities of all levels of government. The 10 regions were to be empowered to control all forms of regionalism in the US. The goal of regional or metropolitan (metro) government is to eventually merge the US into a New World Order. Financing of these regions were done through revenue sharing which made state and local governments financially dependent upon the federal government. All but one of the federal regional capitals is either a Federal Reserve bank or branch city bank.
The only other constitutional convention was called specifically to amend the Articles of Confederation but once behind closed doors the delegates, in secret, threw out that document and wrote an entirely new one – the US Constitution. That’s the precedent. Next time we won’t be so lucky.
