GMO Scandal: The Long Term Effects of Genetically Modified Food on Humans

One of the great mysteries surrounding the spread of GMO plants around the world since the first commercial crops were released in the early 1990’s in the USA and Argentina has been the absence of independent scientific studies of possible long-term effects of a diet of GMO plants on humans or even rats. Now it has come to light the real reason. The GMO agribusiness companies like Monsanto, BASF, Pioneer, Syngenta and others prohibit independent research.

An editorial in the respected American scientific monthly magazine, Scientific American, August 2009 reveals the shocking and alarming reality behind the proliferation of GMO products throughout the food chain of the planet since 1994. There are no independent scientific studies published in any reputed scientific journal in the world for one simple reason. It is impossible to independently verify that GMO crops such as Monsanto Roundup Ready Soybeans or MON8110 GMO maize perform as the company claims, or that, as the company also claims, that they have no harmful side effects because the GMO companies forbid such tests!
That’s right. As a precondition to buy seeds, either to plant for crops or to use in research study, Monsanto and the gene giant companies must first sign an End User Agreement with the company. For the past decade, the period when the greatest proliferation of GMO seeds in agriculture has taken place, Monsanto, Pioneer (DuPont) and Syngenta require anyone buying their GMO seeds to sign an agreement that explicitly forbids that the seeds be used for any independent research. Scientists are prohibited from testing a seed to explore under what conditions it flourishes or even fails. They cannot compare any characteristics of the GMO seed with any other GMO or non-GMO seeds from another company. Most alarming, they are prohibited from examining whether the genetically modified crops lead to unintended side-effects either in the environment or in animals or humans.

The entire process by which GMO seeds have been approved in the United States, beginning with the proclamation by then President George H.W. Bush in 1992, on request of Monsanto, that no special Government tests of safety for GMO seeds would be conducted because they were deemed by the President to be “substantially equivalent” to non-GMO seeds, has been riddled with special interest corruption. Former attorneys for Monsanto were appointed responsible in EPA and FDA for rules governing GMO seeds as but one example and no Government tests of GMO seed safety to date have been carried out. All tests are provided to the US Government on GMO safety or performance by the companies themselves such as Monsanto. Little wonder that GMO sounds to positive and that Monsanto and others can falsely claim GMO is the “solution to world hunger.”
In the United States a group of twenty four leading university corn insect scientists have written to the US Government Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) demanding the EPA force a change to the company censorship practice. It is as if Chevrolet or Tata Motors or Fiat tried to censor comparative crash tests of their cars in Consumer Reports or a comparable consumer publication because they did not like the test results. Only this deals with the human and animal food chain. The scientists rightly argue to EPA that food safety and environment protection “depend on making plant products available to regular scientific scrutiny.” We should think twice before we eat that next box of American breakfast cereal of the corn used is GMO or not.

A dear freind of mine George Stidolph was chairman of The Natural Law Party and campaigned in Scotland for years against G.M foods. The party pushed leading supermarkets like Marks and Spencers to set an example by refusing to use G.M products. After 13 years Scotland has announced itself as a G.M free country. George lost everything during his campaign work, his business, relationship and peace of mind. He was targeted by many high ranking businessmen who had a vested interest in his campain work. George was supposed to be a spokesman for Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Movement and soon realised that it was a massive mind control operation, the NLP was heavily into promoting the movement but George used this public platform to tell the audiences at these gatherings the massive manipulation and cross manipulation of different genomes being placed into food, including human genes in pork. George has had many years to recover and reflect on his campaign he is thrilled that Scotland has taken a stand and hopes many countries will follow their example, however he said “These guys at the top love protests and the attention that veiw points contrary to their own bring to their new proposals. By having open debate and protest actually gives them a sheild to hide behind, as when a government pushes through a new idea, they can say but we told the people and there were a few protests but the majority went along with it. So it’s still a democracy. They can push through bills within government where the people are not offered a choice or say and still get away with it, as people are made to feel politics are best left to the people in politics and are not issues for the laymen. If you want to protest you can, though you are at risk of being shot at with rubber bullets or gased back if you dare step over a no go line.” George is right and the saddest thing is that the men and women at the top get away with it. There are some rumbles of displeasure but not enough to create a wave. We need to realise as a world that the people in power were put there to serve the people not the other way round. If we all refused to buy or consume G.M crops what would happen? The companies would lose profit and have to withdraw it out of circulation. It sounds so easy, so why is it all so hard? How did we get into a position of such submission and servitude?

Heirloom non GMO seed can be bought online. Google Heirloom non GMO seed. People who put in gardens every year can produce their own non GMS seed for nothing but the money for the original seed. People that live in rural areas are going to be less effected by this than people who have to depend on store bought vegetables and flour and corn meal. I know a lot of farmers in western Kansas that don’t buy seed. They hold back grain every year for the next years crop.

That is because the organic labeling has so many loop holes in it you could drive a semi through
it. There is a place where you can send seed to have it tested to see whether it is GMO
or not. It is expensive though. You can go to http://www.rareseeds.com Call
them for the address of this place to send your seed. The people at RS’s have a beautiful
full color catalog of seed from all over the world and guarantee all their seed is pure. Their
seed is not cheap because they travel all over the world to find pure non GM seed.

Only buy organic products certified by the reputable bodies that ban GMOs, eg. NASAA, ACO, BFA.
These products are guaranteed not to contain GMOs.
And if you see a product labelled as ‘Organic’ in your supermarket, but it does not have a certification stamp on it – WRITE A CUSTOMER FEEDBACK FORM TO THE SUPERMARKET DEMANDING THAT THEY TAKE IT OFF THEIR SHELVES IMMEDIATELY FOR MISLEADING THE CONSUMER AS TO ITS ORGANIC STATUS.
I’ve done this numerous times & the supermarket has demanded the food company change their packaging or they will not stock the product. (eg. certified free range eggs were labelled as organic, but they were not certified as organic. The organic labelling was removed.) The results have been very quick. I’ve been surprised. Supermarkets have a reputation to uphold & especially if they have their own line of organics, they need to show they know the difference.

I don’t think correcting anyone on grammer or proper use of language should be seen as criticizing. Although they don’t need to call the person an idiot. Maybe they are just ignorant. Which shouldn’t be confused with stupid. If you don’t know the difference then look it up just like i told my kids to do. I am constantly correcting my kids on language and definitions. If you just let it go all the time then you are just promoting the dumbing down the government wants. And i will tell you that i am not perfect and will probably have errors in this you can go after also. But here the word was “unmoral”. It is not just a wrong letter. It is totally wrong word, “inmoral” is still incorrect. I am always telling my kids to look up words for meanings and correct spelling. Just as the other day when I asked my daughter if she knew what porous was she said “Something that has holes and sucks up water like a sponge”. Although the hole part is right how can i let her think it has anything to do with absorbing water? This just helps the schools and government to dumb us down.

I think part of the overall problem is that we’ve given up on an expectation of excellence in ALL areas of culture and society. I agree, but mostly because human beings not only don’t need to eat corn, in the first place, but it was never part of the diet for our species until about 10,000 years ago. We have not adapted to eating grain yet and it is the cause of many of our illnesses. It is also the source material for high-fructose corn syrup, of course. Corn, in short, is nothing we need to be eating, anyway, GMO or not.

Ball Blue Book which is published by the Ball Corporation that manufactures canning jars and lids.

for more years that I care to admit but as I age it is getting more difficult to do and am now
teaching my girls to do it. Very easy to understand instructions are in the book. I am now
going to can several crates of peaches.

If you can’t grow it, don’t eat it or do your research prior to buying. I for one can grow grass on cement (organically) and if you cannot by now, you better friggin learn how to and fast.
The food supply issue IS the biggest thing right now. To hell with everything else for if you cannot eat, what do rights mean anyway. You’re going to die.
People need to not only get back to basics concerning the Constitution but the way thing’s were done back then as far as farming and self preservation. It is the way it was mean’t to be. There are vast networks of very knowledgable people out there that think along the same lines. As I understand it, there are 2 basic issues to GMO foods (if there are other issues, please let me know!):
1) Are they REALLY safe for human consumption?
2) Do they produce seeds for the next season’s planting, or must you purchase new seed from the GMO company in order to produce food?
If they are NOT really safe for human consumption, NOTHING else matters: GMO foods MUST be banned from the market and the companies and CEOs producing them should be prosecuted for assault and (probably) attempted mass murder – essentially, another Nuremburg Prosecution!
If they do NOT produce seeds for the next year’s planting, then what we have is a SCAM to force the price of food smack into orbit and only a complete idiot or a sado-masochist would buy or use them!
That some GMO foods have infiltrated the Organic Food industry is important for the first point, but not so much for the second: UNLESS and UNTIL the GMO foods prove safe, the Organic Food companies using them should be exposed and boycotted, for obvious reasons!

Everyone needs to start taking LOTS of garlic, magnesium and probiotics!! We also cannot live without vitamin C. When put side by side with non-GMO grain, farm animals will not eat the GMO feed.
Corn is a big problem (40% is GMO) but soybeans are at the top of the list. 85% of all soybeans are GMO. And that includes TVP (textured vegetable protein) products that you find in survival food.

interesting debate, this is certainly a s--- world, and bringing kids into it is a tough thing to do. You will have to shelter them, protect them, you will lose most of your peace, quiet, free time, independence, etc. They might get sick, in trouble, be pains in the ass, annoying, have bad attitudes, be lazy, etc, in spite of how hard you work to make them perfect. It will drain the life from you on a daily basis But what you get back can not be valued in any currency nor described with simple words very easily. It depends on what kind of person you are, the benefit you derive from it. For me (I have two) nothing makes me feel like life is worth living more than looking into their eyes, talking to them, playing with them, getting a hug from them, hearing them say I love you, etc.. They are what keeps me in the game – I don’t know where I would be or what I would be doing without them – probably getting arrested or killed.. Also, you can look at it this way.. If all the people who are awake, and good, decided it’s not good to have kids, then who’s going to carry on the fight when this generation dies off?
The meaning of life, biologically, is to continue to pass your genetic code on. To fail to do so, at a species level, means extinction. At a personal level, could mean the end of a family bloodline. I chose to have kids so that I could pass my genes on. Being a human of responsibility, I want to pass my values on. This is the primary meaning of my life.

thanks for sharing and for the good wishes…….I don´t doubt what you say for a second about the benefits, but when I read about the vaccinations and the difficult decisions we will have to make on their behalf and the risk of their suffering at the hands of these bastards who have this evil agenda, well, frankly it makes me sick…..but at the same time I understand that it is for them that we will fight and in the end I have faith that goodness will prevail. Should we let our lives be controlled by fear mongering like this? Leading a reactionary life should be what we should try to move away from. Definetely deserves alot of thought…things are a little different now than they were in the days of “father knows best” and even the good ol´days of Caddyshack! Starting with pre-natal care, through the delivery process (early cut of cord), to endless nuking of their systems with vaccines, to the GMO food that is almost impossible to escape, to the brainwashing of the controlled media and education system… I can see why anyone would want to forgo bringing someone into this world.
I would think very hard if I were making the choice now. I think when we did it, we weren’t as “awake” as we are now.. Of course I wouldn’t undo what we have done for the world, but if I didn’t know what I would be missing, I might decide not to do it..

If you want to be a father, then have children. I believed all the PC propaganda about what a lousy world it is for so long before waking up that now for me and my wife it’s too late. And we’re experiencing remorse over it. The world is going to keep going, and it needs good people to raise children well and give them the care and love needed to keep our species true to itself, or right itself from this wayward path we’re on. Farmers have switch to 85% GMO traited Corn in the Last 5yrs, because Monsanto, Dow and Syngenta have bought up all the Seed Corn Companies. Seed companies like Dekalb(monsanto ownde) are eliminating sales of all non-gmo corn, because it is not as profitable. A bag of non Gmo seed corn cost 60-100 dollars. A bag of Gmo traited Corn cost $180-350, because the farmer must pay a tech fee to the patent holder Monsanto. Its all about the money. Farmers are being brainwashed by the Seed companies that they must plant GMO corn if the want big yields and want to survive as a farmer in the US. The only benefit of Roundup Ready corn is that u can spray the field with roundup after the corn is up and keep the field clean of weeds. Of course more profit for Monsanto more spraying. I question what is effect to the wildlife (deer,racoons, birds, etc) that eat this out of our fields. Only time will tell. I wish City people, really understand what farmers are up against. Farmers really dont have a choice, if they want to continue farming. U the public have allowed this to happen, with little public outcry, all for profit.

It’s my understanding that animals are too smart to eat this garbage….unlike us dumb humans.
Besides, the fact that this corn is Roundup Ready has nothing to do with being able to spray the fields for weeds. The pesticide are IN the corn kernals, so you’re eating the pesticide as well.
In the case of corn, the seeds are genetically modified to produce their own pesticides so there is little reason to spray the fields.
Finally, if the farmers are being brainwashed into buying corn seeds that cost 2-3 times as much for seeds that will grow corn cobs that do not produce seeds for replanting is NOT the fault of we the people for allowing it. It’s the fault of the farmer’s for being brainwashed….. who are not stupid people.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of ‘95 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Development. This curriculum is an Agricultural Education based degree plan that exposes the students in it to courses in Animal Science, Agronomy, Ag Economics, etc. In my various ag classes we were indoctrinated with a doctrine of turning us into “change agents” when we graduated. Fortunately, I knew about the New World Order before going there, unfortunately I did not know the full extent to which they had already taken over the colleges and universities at that time. They were already pushing hard on GMO and cloning, as well as microchiping livestock (I could see right through this as a last step before microchiping people under some pretext such as knowing where you child is or keeping track of parolees from prison, etc.). I was literally sick to my stomach by this crap. I should have quit wasting my time and quit college, because college and “higher education” in our society are a total scam to defraud to public out of our hard earned money and that of our families under the false pretense of having something better (a “good” job) when we graduate (though no such thing exists anymore). Rather I stuck it out and let the brainwashing go through one ear and right out the other, and I dared to stand up to the crap and ask questions which lead me to be blacklisted since I graduated. So mcuh for the Aggie “Spirit” and “Aggies help Aggies” propaganda crap! If you are not one of their corrupt goold ole boy system you are nothing a nobody and will receive no help whatsoever after you graduate. You are left to fend for yourself.
To add insult to injury, Texas A&M has gone completely off the deep end with its full scale worship of the Bush Family and the Bush Library and Bush School of Government. The Bush Library is nothing more than a sick Temple to the New World Order! Now there is a special office of Homeland Security set up there, etc. I honestly believe that they are actively conducting horrific experiments on homeless people in some of thier labs and underground facilities beneath the campus (there is an extensive network of facilites set up underneath the campus that are totally off limits to anyone without “authorization”)! A local news station in the Bryan area did a report a couple of years ago about the number of homeless people in the Brazos Valley (area in which Texas A&M is located for those of you not familiar with Texas) and they said there were approximately 900+ homeless people in the immediate area and another 200+ in the surrounding counties, but I can honestly say that I have only personally seen about 10 at the most, yet the cost of living there is high and yet the average wages there are low, so there must be a lot of homeless in the area, but you don’t see them! Also I used to work with another A&M graduate that said his fiance’ was working on getting a Master’s Degree in some sort of Public Health field. He related a story to me one day while we were working together in which he said one day she had to go into one of the buildings on the west campus (where most of the Ag Science and Medical facilities are) and she told him that there was a wing in the building that was “sealed off”. When she asked why it was sealed off, she was told that, “Because ‘SOMETHING’ had escaped one of the labs!” She then heard a “bloodcurdling scream” from whatever it was and said to her fiance’ that she would NEVER go into that building again because it scared her so much! Needless to say, I am ashamed to be an “Aggie” and I got rid of my Aggie Ring, which is a very Masonically inspired ring, and Sul Ross, one of the top founders of Texas A&M was a top ranking Mason, and there is a special statue to honor him. Don’t send your children to college now, encourage them to learn on their own, and especially DO NOT send them to a totally evil Satanic university like Texas A&M!

I read an article within the past few months that said Bayer Corp. makes a lot of sprays and one of
them kills honey bees. I can’t remember where I got it from but you can no doubt find it on the net
by doing a search or bayer/honeybees maybe.
Actually, mason bees are far better pollinators than honey bees. You can buy “homes” for mason
bees which are just pieces of wood with holes drilled in them of a certain size. Many sites sell similar
items. These bees do not produce honey but are extremely good pollinators.
