He didn’t want to have any part of it, and as he was leaving the Constitution Hall in Philadelphia a couple of old ladies said, ‘Ah, Mr Franklin, what is going to happen?’ He told them: ‘Well, you’re going to get a Republic, if you can keep it. But every constitution of this sort has failed since the beginning of time due to the corruption of the people.’”
So the American people are corrupt? Americans weren’t good enough for America? “Precisely. They were only good enough to be a restive colonial power – or the dregs of one.”

“Rage” seems to be all the rage lately. Just watched CNN cover a story about that Chicago mayor who wants to have an effort by individuals, leavng the gov’t out of it, to mentor school kids and keep them out of gangs. One pundit responded by saying people need to band togther to do something, do not need money but citizen effort.
So I ask again, why the mainstream media -not our friend- covering this?
Just as Alex has been saying, they’re trying to incite riot to bring on marshall law.

Let’s be honest, the Amerikan people are APETHETIC. Like we used to say about a group of people we were “fighting for” back in the 60s & 70s; “They don’t care about anything except where their next bowl of rice comes from”. Well now WE are those people and instead of the rice all we care about is our freaking “stuff”. Our consumer goods; Ipod, 60″ flat screen, The Buick or SUV, the lakeside cottage, …. We as a nation don’t give a good rat’s ass about anything but our damn possessions. The crap that fill up the closets, basements, garages, sheds and storage units. Cheap Chinese Crap has become this nations god! We freaking WORSHIP our crap. And beause we spend all our time worshiping and pursuing this cheap crap we have no time to give to “unimportant” matters, like who is running the republic.
We swallow 5 second sound bites that are spun and twisted to make decisions on matters that once, used to be important. We allowed our leaders to allow the elite, mega wealthy, control nearly ALL media [news & entertainment]. The elite, through the corporate screen, are dictating nearly ALL laws. The rules of the game have been stacked against We The People for generations. Only [listen carefully here] when the vast MAJORITY of people in this nation are jarred out of their apethetic slumber will any chance of change occur. There is a lot of blather that only 3% of the colonial population fought in the Revolutionary War. Yes, that’s the headcount of the ACTUAL WARRIORS. But now factor in ALL the folks who were SUPPORTERS of the revolution. The number now jumps to an estimated 75-80%. Those who didn’t support the American Revolution MOVED OUT AFTERWARD! So without the support of the public there can be NO CHANGE!
So if you want to change the direction this nation is going, SHUT THE HELL UP WITH THE LUNATIC FRINGE SHIT! You are driving the people we need away in wholsale numbers. I shouldn’t even have to point this out. YOU should be smart enough to figure it out on your own. So when people like Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs say things that aren’t in line with your ideas just let it roll. Take help in the greater fight wherever it comes from. The other stuff can be addressed AFTER the big effort [awakening the public] has been achieved.

In 1781, Thomas Jefferson wrote the following:

It will not then be necessary to resort every movement to the people for support. They will be forgotten, therefore, and their rights disregarded. They will forget themselves, but in the sole faculty of making money…The shackles, therefore, which shall not be knocked off at the conclusion of this war, will remain on us long, will be made heavier and heavier.”
The founders knew that the system they were designing was the best to be had. But they also warned us that it must be fought for continuously – once the people become complacent the government takes over ruthlessly and freedoms are erased. As we see today.
Thank God for sites like this – awareness is the greatest weapon right now.

Something else that took place in 1781 is that the King got his bank established in the Colonies. It had a 20 year charter to operate. This ,of course pleased the shareholders back in Europe, the Rothschilds and the Bank of England.
20 years later, when the charter was up, Jefferson did not want it renewed. Of course this infuriated the King, the Rothschild and the shareholders. Rothschild exclaimed, ” Bring those impudent Americans back to Colonial status “….and thus set about starting another very expensive war.

I joke with people and call myself a Celtic Indian due to my heritage, But most of what you have said is/was true! The unfortunate thing that the White settlers did to the Native Americans was to introduce them to drugs and Alcohol! Since this has been, the Native peoples of this Country have become alcoholics and drug addicts in large numbers. And though there are alot of them fighting to get right again, and to help their brothers and sisters rid themselves of their “demons”, the problem grows like a disease!
I have told people for years that have cried over third world Countries, to look here in the USA, and it would sadden their heart, They tell me that I’m wrong, the Native Tribes live like that because they WANT to! Goes to show the hypocrisy rampant in this Country!!
I think that if America wants to save itself, then we will HAVE NO CHOICE, but to leave the UN, Leave the domestic troubles of other Countries to themselves, and close our borders in order to fix the wrongs that are here FIRST! Then, we can, IF ASKED lend assistance to others, as long as it doesn’t involve sending troops or armed Military into their Countries!!
The Founding Fathers knew that this would lead to folly! That is why we weren’t really supposed to do it, and they consistently advised against it! They weren’t afraid of losing the wars over there, they were afraid of losing our Sovereignty here!!
And thus, it is occurring right before our eyes!!!

Thorne in their Side-I have a TREMENDOUS RESPECT for the American Indian. I myself have a little Indian blood. My Great Grandmother was a Crow. If you dont believe me just go back in history and read up on the great and wonderful acts the white race has accomplished…Not saying any other race is any better or worse just that through out the timeline you will see that most conflicts, disasters, extinctions came at the hands of Angl-Saxon,Caucasian WHATEVER THE HELL you white people want to be called. I used to think Gore Vidal was great!……now I realize that he is a venomous snake. an elitist — friends with Princess Margaret?
The most infuriating part of this interview was his promulgation of the “blowback” excuse for 911.
This alone shows you where he comes from. He is a “faux liberal”. And another thing. If Gore had been “selected” instead of Dubya we would still have had 911. We would still have invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. Cause like Alex tells us ….. these are just “front men”. Working for their masters. Gore and his cousing Al are agents for the NWO.
He stated in another interview that he has NEVER loved anyone. There is NO humanity in his soul .. IF he has one. All of his fame is based on his networking and connections. No wisdom comes from this viper. I would add that he is totally lacking in compassion, kindness and humility.

yup, in an article a couple of days before this one….stated that even his first infatuation was the closest thing he ever felt to love, altho he said it was really that he “fell in lust” rather than in love…..an empty shell of a man. He despised his own mother. said she was always drunk. Sorry can’t remember who did the interview. most likely can be googled. He joined the service to get away from his mother.

Some of the things that went through my little brain-cell! Of course, we have to respect his great intellect, I guess. I used to admire Aldous Huxley and that sort of ilk, and am now totally disillusioned. Brave New World was the blueprint for the future, and he was in it up to his nuts! More fuckin’ elitists and their self-absorbings with their various selves. Fuck, even Elmo from Sesame Street is an NWO puppet – ( I stole that line from another poster LOL) John Lennon sang about not believing in anything, or anybody but love. (I don’t like Yoko Ono either, but that person was his love- none of my business). The thing is believe in love, believe in yourself – don’t let someone else get their kicks for you. I clicked the link supplied with the little snippet above, and read the whole article about Gore Vidal.
Reaction: As someone who classes himself a Historian (been one my whole life- even have a degree in History), I have to concede that Vidal is essentially correct with his assessment of America As Empire.
However, even though I respect the man’s opinion and the depth and breadth of his knowledge, I still detest him. I find that once he goes off the topic of America As Empire, he becomes morally relativistic with regards to homosexuality- and frankly a little bit boring. He justifies his, and other’s, perversions by saying that the Romans didn’t have terms for homo- or heterosexuality, and that of the 1st 12 Emperors of the Roman Empire, 11 were bisexual. So?
I don’t CARE what the Romans did. I care what WE do- right NOW.
Vidal is right about one thing: America IS going to fall. I disagree with his statement that Afganistan will end us, but the offiial End is on it’s way- I’m 42 and I know that I will live to see it.
As a US Army Veteran, the Nationalist in me chafed at some of the statements that Vidal made re: how America became an Empire. But the Historian in me knows he is right- we’ve been an Empire for far too long, and have pissed off many, many peoples around the world with the heavy-handedness that the US is famous for. I wonder if the damage is reverseable?
Don’t get me wrong- I’m no apologist. What’s done is done, and the most egregious actions were committed long ago. When I asked if the damage is reverseable, I was referring to the damage WE have done to our own Republic and Constitution.
I prefer to think that it IS reverseable, but actually undoing the damage will take oceans of blood spilled on ground already paid for by our Forefathers. Undoing the damage will tear this country to pieces, not to mention families torn apart and loved ones lost- our children will not only see it with their own eyes, but might actually take part in it.
This is a price that MUST be paid, else we will live in chains forever. I can see no alternative. Those of us who still believe in the Constitution, still believe in the Vision the Founders had- WE will be the ones who have to bleed, willingly or not. Make no mistake- anyone who stands against the tide will likely die- myself included (This also means my only son will be in the thick of it), but we have the advantage both in numbers and in the righteousness of our Cause.
I am not eager to die, nor eager to see my own kin dead and my Country burning. But, I would rather die on my feet and see this Country in ashes than live on my knees even for an instant- living by someone else’s leave, head down, shuffling along- my dignity gone and freedom dead. I pray my son learns enough in this life to make a stand for Liberty than to side with the Statist Thugs bent on destruction. I instruct him as best as I am able, and I pray it is enough.
The time for nonviolent action has almost passed: We call our elected representatives- they don’t listen. We write letters- they don’t listen. We go to see them- they do nothing. We march on Washington herself- they ignore us. You cannot expect an intelligent and well-motivated people to be stepped on, stripped of freedom and dignity and ignored to sit there and do nothing while they watch their Republic swirl the drain.
Something has to give- and soon.
I have prepared myself and my family as well as I possibly can- both physically and mentally. I plead with those of you who read this to do the same, and join me in sending an Appeal to Heaven so the Almighty will see the righteousness of our Cause, grace us with the courage to live well, and bless our future actions with success.

I can’t speak for Vidal, but I know that I’m not corrupt. More importantly, God knows that I’m not. Like Col. Gadsden’s Grandson just posted, he seems like a very BITTER OLD MAN. Wow, theres a lot of group think that goes on in this site. As far as Gore Vidal goes, the man is an expert on our country’s history and has been defending the constitution for his entire life. He has been against every war, come out against Clinton on numerous issues, he like many other people bought into the Obama brand. Does that make him naive? Perhaps. But keep in mind, Gore Vidal has always stood up for what he believed in. While the other so-called intellectuals like Chomsky defended the government and the official story of 9/11, Vidal always spoke out about how it was an inside job as well as Oklahoma City Bombings. His interviews with Alex Jones are great, I think you guys should show the man a little more respect. He isnt a shill, and the Bohemian Grove comment seems to come from the fact that the man is a homosexual, get over it. He has done more in his life to defend this country’s liberty and constitution, Alex Jones has recommended his work many times, he is a great writer and powerful critical thinker. I for one think theres 2 main reasons this has happened. number one we allowed it. number 2 its a wake up call. Something like this discussed years ago would have labeled me a “conspiracy theorist.” Did I see this coming? yes! duh! I spoke about it 10 years before and was looked at being a nut. Now, we see its happening. Is it right? no! But what I find rather unique now, is EVERYONE is waking up and smelling the coffee so to speak. But I wonder is it too late now to do anything about it? If we fight against the system well be labeled as terrorists. Our freedoms are being stripped away and now I think its a little bit late fighting back. We have allowed this to happen. We reap what we sow guys bottom line. Thomas Jefferson has said this…History, in general, only informs us of what bad government is…I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them…No government ought to be without censors; and where the press is free no one ever will…Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence…..The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

I don’t have an agenda man, I’m not a democrat or republican I think they are both crooks. Obviously you havent read any of Gore Vidal’s work, he doesn’t really sympathize with either political party either. Open your mind a little bit, I dont agree with everything Vidal has to say but I have learned a lot from his work. The same goes for Jim Marrs, Eric Schlosser, Webster Tarpley, and many other authors. Don’t just dismiss someone off the bat because they supported Obama, people can change and so can their ideas. It seems Vidals have. Get over this idea that Obama is some mastermind, he is just a puppet completing an agenda like Bush did. He is being told what to do by his cabinet and advisors, he sets no real policy. Therefore I think the comment about generals is fairly accurate, if you think Obama is some evil mastermind you are the real sheep ignoring the larger agenda and players involved.
