Government Demands Inventory of All VFW Weapons

Editor’s note: Alex Jones has called the VFW and received confirmation that the email mentioned below is genuine.
An Infowars reader has passed along an email sent to VFW commanders by the Assistant Adjutant of the Department of Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars indicating the U.S. Army TACOM (Tactical Army Command) is demanding an inventory of all weapons held by VFW posts.

“While you may have had possession of this equipment for 20, 40, 60 or 100 years,” the email states, “it still belongs to the U.S. Military.”
The email arrived with an inventory attachment where all weapons are to be listed and the document sent to the Department of Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars. “This form will then be bounced off of the central database of all Texas VFW Posts at U.S. Army TACOM to verify serial numbers of each item that has been issued. This is a very extensive list and goes back to before the VFW was founded. So if you have a cannon from the Spanish-American War — it’s on the list.”
Many VFW halls around the country have decommissioned military weapons on their properties along with uniforms, statues and flags from every era. It is a common practice for VFW honor guard units to use M-1 rifles made into blank firing devices for salutes at parades and funerals. Weapons held by VFW posts are generally kept under lock and key in storage rooms.
TACOM is not simply interested in blank firing devices and antique rifles and pistols, however. “Weapons and Equipment consist of but is not limited to, Rifles, Pistols, Mortars, Artillery, Tanks, Vehicles, Aircraft, Missiles, Aircraft Carriers (sic), etc, from any period.”

The inventory of weapons at VFW posts is further evidence the government does not trust veterans, even with antiquated and non-functioning military equipment used primarily for display and historical purposes.
Last month the government took the unprecedented step of requiring soldiers at Fort Campbell in Kentucky to disclose all of their privately owned weapons and gun licenses.
“Military officials insist the policy is not connected to a recent controversial Department of Homeland Security report that warned disgruntled veterans could pose a national security threat. Rather, the inventory of private guns is aimed at stemming what the Army claims is an increasing number of accidental discharges by gun-toting soldiers,” NewsMax reported on May 5.
On June 5, WorldNetDaily reported that Fort Bliss in Texas had informed soldiers who live off the premises to provide descriptions, serial numbers, calibers, makes and models of any of the guns they own privately.

Not likely to happen well at least by September…do you realize there are an estimated 350,000,000 thats 350 million guns in the U.S. It is estimated that about 1 in 4 people own firearms and on average firearms owners own 4 guns each. That is no small task, it would take the crooks in Washington years to do. We’ll all know if and when they start because it will sound like your sitting in your deer stand on a cold december morning at daybreak from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Us law abiding legal gun owners in America will not just hand our guns over and they know it and they’re scared. If and when the gun grabbers come to get some they better know what they’re getting themselves into.

Thank you to all trolls and patriots alike for using cuss words on this forum. The government “loves the children” of this nation too much to let them be exposed to such language. Internet 2 will impose fines on websites that allow such language to be used. It will be up to the website host to either pay the fines, pay a fee to allow x-rated content, or pay a moderator to censor your comments since you can’t seem to censor yourselves.
BTW 80% the so-called patriots who make valid, cogent points, and then throw in 3 or 4 cuss words, are paid or unpaid trolls. You are aware the target is the same people who GAVE AWAY their guns for $50 food cards or shopping cards at thier local grocery stores? Enough of the people will blindly comply that this, if it is true, would be highly effective. Don’t get all riled up about this memorandum, as this occurs every couple of years. Sure the equipment may be decommissioned, however, it is still the property of the original branch of service it came from. If it is not accounted for, what is stated in the memo is correct. It would be considered as stolen Government equipment, as the Post/District/Department signed for the equipment and agreed to comply with the inventory requests.

The BS about them being turned into blank firing devices was funny.
We had Springfield’s and Lee Enfield .303 rifles at my last VFW/DAV post. On weekends we didn’t have funerals we would take the Springfields out and shoot ground squirrels. These we would donate to the Food Pantry so some poor, starving kids and their momma could have more than just the standard issue roadkilled opossum and deer. It was fun for all.

Also think with logic. The logic being that a complete gun confiscation is logistically impossible to pull off. Sure its been done in the past, but it took more than a few months, and those people gave up and turned in there guns.

I agree with most of what you are saying Armed Serenity…
NOW, that being said…
Most of the people outside of this site, will more than likely willingly give over their weapons for a stamp at the bread line, if it comes to that.
Most will give up their guns for a dozen roses, such as the Guns for Roses deal that happened around my area in Feb.
Most people will give up their guns or sell them, when they get desperate for cash to pay their bills.
Most people, when the police arrive, telling them that their guns need to be tagged etc, and held at the local station to ensure they are legal, etc… will most likely let the police take them, no questions asked.
Most people will, when the police come to tell them that things are too bad and that crooks are going around stealing peoples guns, and that they will be glad to hold your lawfully owned weapons for you, at no charge, less they be stolen and used in crimes, will go, oh, sure here’s my guns…
That leaves a relatively small minority of people, who will hold on to their guns… those people will be listed as Potential Terrorist, Potentially Deadly Taxpayer, etc… and the police will work with the military to do surges into these homes and clear the weapons out of the homes. If you give resistance, the tactical teams will take you out, and take your guns, to make sure they do not fall in anyone else’s hands.
That will leave a few guns and a few caches of Ammo, buried in the paranoids backyards, aka the upper 1%. If these people don’t have enough guns to arm their neighbors, they are done for.
Now, the trick will be, once the confiscations that aren’t really confiscations start taking place, to start placing some weapons in a weapons cache, preferably NOT on your property, but somewhere where you can get to them. The main thing is to have weapons ready and on hand, locked and loaded, but to have a fall back, in case the police bust down your doors while you’re at work, and steals, I mean confiscates all your guns and ammo… and you walk into a ransacked house.
I say, time to lock and load, and wait for the time when the private citizen is required, at gun point to register all your weapons, or be found guilty of terrorism and killed on site as a traitor to your country. Those powers come with martial law. Death sentence without a trial.
I say, hope for the best, and prepare for the worse… hide what you can, just in case… and buy more than you need, while you have a chance… don’t forget spare parts, grease, cleaners, etc while your at it…
A nice 6 inch water pipe and a 50 gallon drum of thick oil should keep your boomstick shiny and in almost new condition, for about 50 years if buried and properly sealed against the elements.

Damn straight, Sorcha Faal is a joke. As for a complete gun confiscation being impossible I agree but they don’t need to get all of the guns. They only need to instill fear in the minds of Americans, threaten (and carry out those threats in a visible way) in order to slow down an armed resistance. The ones who cower in fear after seeing a few of their neighbors shot in the head or taken away never to return will become willful slaves, snitching out their own mothers in order to save their own skin.
Who knows how things are going to play out, I’ll tell you this though, NLE 09′ isn’t a good sign and it should worry those of us who have been paying attention to what’s been going down the past five months or so. Too many odd coincidences to be just coincidences. Remember how Alex ridiculed the women talking about viruses being shipped throughout the country during the Power Hour radio show? What happened a few weeks later…The Swine Flu, which isn’t exactly over yet…Didn’t they promise us a very deadly Flu season this coming fall?
Make no mistake brothers and sisters, they aren’t building up this police state for nothing. The military is not mobilizing on American soil because of middle eastern terrorists and weird drills being carried out all across the country aren’t just for show. Something very serious is coming down the pike and fairly soon. People have been talking about it for the past two decades, they were wrong about when it would happen but they didn’t have even half the information we have now nor was the enemy on the move in such a massive way during those times.

I was wondering why everyone was talking about some kind of Sept. gun confiscation. I was really starting to worry about if it was real due to all the chatter being repeated here!
It is more scary to me that all this BS started simply by some lunatic insanely ranting on some crazier then now website and we have people repeating as if it was fact!

Yes, you are right “Solution Man” that being prepared is best but I do NOT have an emphasis on apathy.
I believe in knowing the TRUTH FIRST AND FOREMOST, and equally ALWAYS having the ability to feed and protect my family and self. Knowing where information is streaming from is extremely important and screaming the sky is falling constantly will not help. Yes at first people will run around buying up all the guns and ammo but as each fake “the sky is falling by (fill in the blank date here)” goes by and nothing happens, the people that were once prepared or the people “just starting to wake”, will fall to total apathy due to dis-information “stories”… which is exactly what they want.

just a bit of sanity here. How many people outside of this website do you believe are “awake”?
We are kind of narrow-minded here in that we believe most of the world “out there” has the knowledge that has been granted to us, or the wisdom to use it.
We’re grossly outnumbered. If there are real leaders here, there are real followers out there that will wake up if we take this to them in a rational way, not going off half-cocked like lunatics. So I’ll again say what I’ve been saying. Come here, brainstorm, get what you need and use it out there.
God loves those people too, and He’s allowed us to have this insight not only for our own benefit, but the benefit of people headed to the slaughter, just as is planned for us. The only difference is that we’re aware of it. They’re not.

I say the VFW’s demand the Federal Reserve be inventoried to account for all the money they issued out before they comply with their weapons inventory. Ron Paul headed a Congressional committee to perform a physical inventory of the gold in Fort Knox– they were denied access due to “national security reasons”. Instead, they were given inventory records to review. I’d be surprised if there were anything at all in that place, other than maybe Jimmy Hoffa’s mummified corpse.

It’s all is a game. I have worked for the government for a long time. What ever information you give them is what they will use to make the database. There is no database for every item or weapom in the inventory.
Another thing is before soldiers were mandated to list what war items they brought back from the battle, it was never catalogue. So basically, they are trying to get caught up on mislapsed work. They didnt have the equipment to keep the recprds back then. So i advise our veterans to play it smart and make them really work. Most VFW vets are alot of old guys right?? So all you old guys have trouble reading, seeing, and writing correctly…Right?? Hint..hint!

I am Adjutant of an American Legion Post in So. California. We have rifles we use in parades and honor guard duties that were obtained from the military; in our case, they are the old bolt-action M1903A1s (WWII) and a couple of actual M1903s (WWI) – we do not have M-1s.
However, because we obtained them free from the US military, we are under agreement with the Army that: 1) We have to maintain an inventory and accounting sheet – where are the rifles, and who has them, and; 2) We are subject to an audit, either via paper request from the military or by physical inspection. We have never been audited (past 25 years), but every now and then we get a reminder from the Army that it is still SOP (standard operating procedure) that they may do so.
What is being described in the article regarding VFW weapons in Texas obtained from the Army does not sound all that different from the policy under which my Legion Post operates regarding weapons we obtained from the military. The only difference might be that it appears that US Army TACOM is asking the VFW in the entire State of Texas for an accounting, which could indicate that either they (Army) hasn’t done an inventory in a very long time, or that there may have been some reported mis-handling of the weapons in the hands of specific Posts in the State.

Also begs the question………. Why the FBI admitted that Mr. Olsen LIED LIED LIED when he was relating his dramatic story about speaking to his wife on FLT 77. He said she told him about Arabs with box cutters and all kinds of other details. THE FBI has sworn under oath that the calls were NEVER CONNECTED and therefore TED OLSEN completely fabricated the entire story of talking to his wife on a plane that crashed.

You’re missing the point Dave. Why the lie in the first place? Why didn’t the government reconstruct the planes piece by piece like they’ve done in every other situation? Why only spend 15 million on 911 when we spent more money on Bill Clinton’s sex games in the oval office? How were all those laws of physics broken by these planes, were they special planes made by the Martians? There are very legitimate questions about the impossible behavior of those planes on 911 which still haven’t been answered or discussed by most 911 truther people who have spent their life trying to expose what actually happened on that fateful day.
A plane made primarily of paper thin aluminum cannot rip through a concrete building, it is impossible. What’s even more amazing is how the planes went through the entire building yet somehow its nose cone was completely intact. How in the hell is that possible?
How does a passenger plane flying lower than 1000 feet go over 400 miles per hour? Even the people who make these planes will tell you that is impossible. I guess we should ignore their lifelong experience building and understanding these planes?
These are just a few things that happened concerning the planes on 911 that people refuse to talk about. Saying that if we talk about non-existent planes it will hurt the movement isn’t a viable excuse. There were enough scientific laws broken by those planes that anyone with more than a few brain cells should be screaming to get this information out to the masses yet the opposite is true. Anyone calling themselves truthers
should be all over this like pigs on s--- yet everyone is strangely silent on this issue. It seems like there’s a double standard at work here.

Funny but wrong.
The air is too thick below a certain altitude for those planes to go any faster than 270 miles per hour. They aren’t fighter jets. At the altitude they were at when they (supposedly) hit the two towers there was no way they could have been traveling over 400 miles per hour.
Besides that I’ve seen footage of those building exploding without any plane smashing into them and then watched footage from the same exact angle were there was a plane. Once you start putting all of the evidence together things start getting very bizarre.

We are more often than not a very peaceful society, we have a few bad apples here and there, but not many at all. The muslim extremist are not at all peaceful, they are bred to hate us and kill us, just like that nut killed the young marine right out of boot camp and you don’t hear hardly anything of an uproar about it at all in the news. I feel so sorry for that young man’s family. And his killer is glad he did it and bragging about it being right. What have we become when it is right with anyone to kill a follow human being. It is not right. It is totally wrong. Killing is wrong. It don’t settle anything, it don’t help anything. It makes situations worse is all. Some people just can’t see that. Capt: Looked at different metal detectors the other day online seeking the small kind that you use for pinpointing gold veins in rock. In looking at prices in general for detectors I stumbled onto the following: Most of the cheaper units ( under $1000) are good to 8″ depth. If you invest $2000 or more you MIGHT get down 2 feet and not necessarily be able to tell a bottle cap from a maple leaf from a 92F Berreta. They claim to go deeper but they lie. Below 2-3 feet they use groung penetrating radar–expensive toy and they have to know where (roughly) to look. So steel/gold/silver/brass/lead buried about the depth of your arm wont show up on most detectors regardless of amount buried.

The government has no idea what the posts own, they are on a fishing expedition to find out what the posts have. When TACOM says they have serial numbers on record for cannons from the 19th century and everything else, they are bluffing, and they say that to get the VFW posts to admit all that’s in their armories. Each VFW post should admit to having a few weapons that fire blanks, bury the good stuff and, if the government really does have a list of the more modern weapons, say the items havent been seen in decades. Or just say they were misplaced in a storage locker and pony up the items if they really do an investigation.

You can bore the concrete and steel plugs out of those old howitzers with modern construction equipment as well. Green carbide and/or carborundum, just find an abrasives company that makes their own molds and casts grinding stones and figure out the diameter you need. You can convert a good lathe into a big freaking drill and get those barrels open in forty eight hours with round the clock crews.

High-pressure water drills will do it too. A bit slower maybe, lot more precise. Of course there are alos some neeat things you can do (cheaply) with ultrasound frequencies that will turn the concrete to powder. Lots of different ways to skin a cat.

Guns are simple to fix. A 1911 can be completely disassembled with the leaf spring that it comes with. As long as you know the weapon you can easily rebuild it. The government wouldn’t worry about these weapons if they weren’t capable of doing serious damage. The weapons of both WWI and WWII did a very effective job of killing millions upon millions of people.

We are a nation of unemployed machinists and factory workers and welders. America still knows how to work with steel and fix things; the shops are just mothballed. Probably every small town has an old guy that can make you an m3 in whatever caliber– if you hand him blueprints, a rifled barrel for some other ‘legit’ gun, and related hardware- like screws and springs and clips. With modern alloys, trips to the heat treaters for hardening or passivation could be gotten around.
Sounds like the gummint is skerd some bad person will try to reactivate some old mounted gun. Why would the gummint be scared of vets?? Just because they know how to rock and roll?

These arms are useless anyway just like the arms most of us posses. They will be of little use against what they have (that we own and payed for). They should disclose the info just to avoid any trouble. The only way to defeat them is to reposses our arms that we gave them via our tax dollars for use against them.
I read a lot of posts here that say when they show up at the door the shooting will begin. What do you think you will do against 50 or more swat team members riddling your home with bullets? you have’nt got a chance.

If you think there isn’t already some very organized people (on the squad and platoon level just as documented in the MIAC and DHS reports) then you are one stupid son of a gun. I agree that most people who post here are pipe dreaming but don’t think that when the s--- goes down there aren’t some very serious and very capable people ready to throw down. Once things get underway the regular guys with weapons will be beating a path down to their door in order to join on in and be trained by real soldiers. The government will lose in the end because it is impossible for them to win. You cannot defeat an enemy that will never give up. Americans are not as soft as so many people think.
Even if some of us are a bit soft it doesn’t take long to toughen up and become a serious adversary to our common enemy. This isn’t going to be a conventional war anyway. There will be no rules for those of us who choose to fight against the usurpers who have rebelled against the will of the people. But they will have to follow the rules (to a certain degree) and they also have to convince the whole of the American military to take up arms against there fellow countrymen. No matter what happens it’s going to get very ugly.

It’s a trick. While they do have records of some of the equipment, I highly doubt they have records for artillery pieces dating back to the Spanish war. On June 4, 1963, a virtually unknown Presidential decree, Executive Order
11110, was signed with the authority to basically strip the Federal Reserve
Bank of its power to loan money to the United States Federal Government at
interest.
With the stroke of a pen, President Kennedy declared that the
privately owned Federal Reserve Bank would soon be out of business.
The Christian Common Law Institute has exhaustively researched this matter
through the Federal Register and Library of Congress and can now safely
conclude that this Executive Order has never been repealed, amended, or
superceded by any subsequent Executive Order. In simple terms, it is still
valid.
When President John Fitzgerald Kennedy – the author of Profiles in
Courage -signed this Order, it returned to the federal government,
specifically the Treasury Department, the Constitutional power to create and
issue currency -money – without going through the privately owned Federal
Reserve Bank.
President Kennedy’s Executive Order 11110 gave the Treasury Department the explicit authority:
“to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or
standard silver dollars in the Treasury.”
This means that for every ounce of silver in the U.S. Treasury’s vault, the
government could introduce new money into circulation based on the silver
bullion physically held there. As a result, more than $4 billion in United
States Notes were brought into circulation in $2 and $5 denominations. $10
and $20 United States Notes were never circulated but were being printed by
the Treasury Department when Kennedy was assassinated.
It appears obvious that President Kennedy knew the Federal Reserve Notes being used as the
purported legal currency were contrary to the Constitution of the United
States of America. “United States Notes” were issued as an interest-free and
debt-free currency backed by silver reserves in the U.S. Treasury.
President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 and the United
States Notes he had issued were immediately taken out of circulation.
Federal Reserve Notes continued to serve as the legal currency of the
nation. According to the United States Secret Service, 99% of all U.S. paper
“currency” circulating in 1999 are Federal Reserve Notes.
Kennedy knew that if the silver-backed United States Notes were widely
circulated, they would have eliminated the demand for Federal Reserve Notes.
This is a very simple matter of economics. The USN was backed by silver and
the FRN was not backed by anything of intrinsic value.
Executive Order 11110
should have prevented the national debt from reaching its current level
(virtually all of the nearly $9 trillion in federal debt has been created
since 1963) if LBJ or any subsequent President were to enforce it. It would
have almost immediately given the U.S. Government the ability to repay its
debt without going to the private Federal Reserve Banks and being charged
interest to create new “money”.
Executive Order 11110 gave the U.S.A.
the ability to, once again, create its own money backed by silver and real value
worth something.
Again, just five months after Kennedy was assassinated, no more of the
Series 1958 “Silver Certificates” were issued either, and they were
subsequently removed from circulation.

TACOM stands for Tank and Automotive Command or was it TAACOM is Tank, Automotive, and Armament Command? Anyway it’s a scary though that one might try to use some of that old equipment like it once was made for. Most of the rifles I’ve seen are demilled drills or modified to fire blanks only ( per BATF specs ) and the field pieces are unservicable. If one had round for a 75 or 76mm anti-tank gun or a couple 10 inch howeritzer shells with powder charge I would try to use them. It takes years to restore most tanks/field pieces to working/running condition, not even thinking of firing condition. Maybe the taliban is going to storm every VFW hall in the USA with their white veteran recruits and overthrough our christain government. That almost as beleivable as Al-CIA-da made norad stand down and 9/11 happened while a drill about hijacked plane happened at the same time.

One of the comments aboves brings up the argument that total gun confiscations would be impossible, that it is not logical. Which, I basically agree with, no disagreement there. My question would be, since when have the globalist been logical?
You know what scares me more than gun confiscations? Is thinking just how likely it is that if or when gun confiscations happen, that people like Alex Jones, people within the freedom movements, myself included, will still be doing the same thing, trying to convince the people what is reality is really happening. In simpler terms, I fear the people will just continue living in denial even while swat teams are storming through their dresser drawers.

Why the suggestions in Missouri and elsewhere that vets might become ‘terrorists’? Just because they have experience shooting at moving targets that are shooting back with machine guns? says, and what it does not say. Actions against a foreign enemy are one thing, however actions
against the citizens of their own land is quite another subject.
Who knows, maybe we’ll all get to see a “Real High Tech” 4th Of July this year, with some real
high tech military weapons. It will be very unfortunate, when those weapons backfire and take
out the wrong targets…

The VFW is nothing much more than a chain of private bars. They are full of old, and really old, drunks that have always supported fake conservatives, “tougher” police, and all the basic anti-social clampdowns and ending government spending for anyone or anything except the Social Security checks those old farts live off of.
No wonder Veteran’s benefits and care have gone consistently downhill will Veteran’s organizations like the VFW. If the NWO really wants to hurt Veterans, put the VFW in charge of more Veteran programs. Unless someone served in WWII, the average VFW member thinks they are a bunch of young punks with too much pay and benefits already.

I really want to hear what all the posters have to say, but I must be straight with you. I scan through the posts, and if I see cuss words in any post, I do not stop to read those posts.
However, I read posts that are well written, and that have no cuss words in them.
Yes, you have a right to speak the way you want, but it is just curteous etiquette to consider your audience. You want to maximize your reader audience. You do not want to offend those so much that they will not even read what you have to say.
This makes me sad in a way, because I would really like to read what all of you have to say, since this time is critical for our country.
Most of the posters who cuss are men. Men, you have to remember there are ladies who listen to the Alex Jones show, and they are helped by the comments from you, but you will turn them away from finding out more of the truth by using your beloved cuss words.
I know Alex Jones cusses when he is mad, yet he does apologize. He does not mean to cuss. And, the remedy for his cussing is for him to read out of the King James Bible outloud with his family before he goes to work.
And, since I am on that topic, I hope all of the men posting here are being the spiritual heads of their families and are taking the time to read the Bible and pray with their families.
Of course, there are some here who could care less about the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible, but you will care when you are cast in the furnace of fire, which furnace was not really made for you, but for the Devil and his angels.
So, please again, consider your audience, and if you want your voice to be heard by all listeners of Inforwars, think about the persons in your audience, instead of your love for your profane words.

First time poster but long time reader here and my first order of business is to request that someone please ban that Cudnoski schmeckel. I generally enjoy the well thought out comments here and if a few are sprinkled with a profanity or two, so be it, to me it is naught but flavoring no?
If they try that BS at the Yakima VFW the curmudgeons there would most likely set their beers down, go empty the gun locker and present said arms to whatever goddamned Sgt. that thought he could push them around. The government should rightly fear those brave men and women in all the VFW halls of the land, for those vets have sacrificed far too much to have such an indignity pushed upon them. Does the government even realize that there are nearly 25 million veterans and if even ten percent of these patriots got it into their collective heads to cause some havoc all the governments, from local to federal, would be cease to function at all. And they probably wouldn’t stop with the feds, they would most likely target all multinatioanl corporations here in the U.S. as well. I mean come big brother, you trained these people to visit death upon their fellow man and you think you can tell them how to comport themselves. What happens if the vets run you out of our great land? Do you go get Nato to invade? Maybe enlist the Chinese to retake your corportatist state? What lengths will you go to? @ Brian: I don’t drink. There are few “drunks” in my VFW. What we do is help Veterans, we visit the local VA Hospital and help ease the suffering & boredom there. We also donate money to various religious and civic organizations. The money from our “bars” is used to keep the VFW Posts open, buy things for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veteran’s Day. (Flags, flowers, etc) We also use monies generated from various activities to help other folks, mainly Veterans. The VFW now has a cause o help Veterans from OIF/OEF/ Afghanistan that are in financial crisis due to their deployments. Anyways, Brian, before you open your mouth and spew garbage, you should really educate yourself!! You’re pathetic diatribe disturbs me and demonstrates that you have little working knowledge of the VFW and what they do.

You may think I don’t know anything about the VFW, But I do, and from the inside. Maybe your feelings are hurt that you didn’t get another pat on the back from someone that assumes being a Veterans organization HAS too be good thing – like all VA hospitals have the best medical care in the world. If living in a fantasy that puting flags on a few local graves is a significant benefit to Veterans, and you are so special for participating, you just keep doing that. And keep doing the grunt work to keep up appearances while tthe VFW leadership always loses their battles to support real, live, young Veterans. If you’re lucky, maybe you can brown nose your way into a fancier cap, and really be proud of yourself.

As I explained before, and apparently you have a reading comprehension problem, there’s a LOT more that the VFW does than just put flags on graves during Memorial Day & Veteran’s Day.
As far as the VA hospitals are concerned, they generally suck. I use my retired military benefits and obtain civilian health care.
As far as “fancier caps”, you can have them all. I don’t need no stinkin’ cap to display my leadership skills.
I also am not real happy with our National Commander because he downplayed the DHS report when the DHS called us Veterans, “terrorists”. However, change must come from within. I’m young enough to not be one of those ancient WWII vets. The VFW has chased away many of the Viet Nam vets due to the old farts style of thinking. I’m a Desert Storm Vet.

When Hitler’s Army invaded France the military conquerors/dictators picked up the weapons registration records. They went around and picked up every weapon on the list thusly severely weakening French Resistance to the NAZI’s.
