Two officers later turned up at the frightened grandmother’s home and lectured her about her choice of words before telling her she would not be prosecuted.
Mrs Howe, 67, whose husband Peter is understood to be a Baptist minister, yesterday spoke of her shock at the visit and accused police of ‘ wasting resources’ on her case rather than fighting crime.

the “gay agenda” as it is so irritatingly put, is not not some plan to take over the world and turn everyone gay. True I don’t think that people should be silenced on their views, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that gay people wanting rights have some horrible agenda. I’m personally not proud to be gay, and I’m not ashamed. I don’t feel that gay marches are very modest and I think it’s tacky, but at least there are people trying to fight for whats right. If straight people (who don’t have to parade around their sexual orientation thankfully) can get married and divorced and remarried and so on, then people who are in love with someone who happens to be the same sex should have the same legal advantages. My boyfriend and I live together and have a life, but we couldn’t get the benefits that a straight couple could get. It isn’t fair. We don’t have gay pride all over and we don’t go to gay clubs and have sex parties. We don’t even try to take anyone’s children from them to keep as our own, but we also are not blasting down other people freedoms to do what they want with their bodies. Basically saying that there is some gay agenda is the same as saying there is some christian agenda. I don’t say that being gay is like being black, but it’s more like having a certain faith or being christian in that it doesn’t limit to one race and it’s conscience not physical.

I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. It is a horrible and terrible place of everlasting torment that people will go because of their sins.

But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. He loved you so much which is why he did it! He is the only one to have fufilled the law perfectly(sinless) and paid the price of the entire world’s sins so that man could be saved on the merits of His perfection(see Romans 5:19). All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!

No works or anything you do can save you! May God open your eyes, that one day I may see you in heaven. Read the Word of God(the 1611 King James version- NOT the modern versions, they are corrupt) before rejecting it! Death is fleeting. You may NOT have tomorrow! For death comes when we least expect it! Make sure you are saved TODAY! The Bible condemns the rich, the wealthy, and those who take advantage of the poor, so it CANNOT have been made up by the elite. Because the Word clearly CONDEMNS people such as those! It declares all mankind as sinners(myself included).

Just because someone says they are a Christian does not necessarily mean they are one(remember the crusades in history? Many were murdered in the name of Christianity. Amazing to me the lack of common sense and love for truth here…the Bible is the Word of God. It is the story of Jesus Christ and how God loves the people He created despite the fact that we have turned against Him throughout history. Yet despite our hate for Him and our sin against Him, He still loves us. Amazing God He is!! He loved us so much that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins. God is Holy and just…He is a perfect judge. His very nature dictates and requires that sin be punished. He is so holy that punishment for even one sin against Him is eternal death in Hell. But it doesn’t have to be that way guys!! He is also merciful…So He devised a way to satisfy His nature and His demand for punishment of sin. He Himself came as Jesus Christ (the Son of God) to this earth on His first coming. He committed no sin at all and lived a perfect life. He willingly died on the cross and was brutally whipped and beaten….the just suffered for the unjust. He died on the cross and was mocked and ridiculed…..all of this for you…so YOU could have your sins forgiven…..But it is not free….
It is not free….You must be born again of the Holy Spirit of God by placing your faith in Jesus Christ and that what He did on the cross is sufficient to pay for your sins. You must repent of your sins (turn from them) and turn to God, humbly confess them to Him, ask His forgiveness, and place your trust in Jesus Christ and that His death burial and resurrection is all you need to have your sins forgiven…..nothing you can do, no good works …nothing you can DO is good enough for God…the only thing good enough for God to forgive your sins is the blood of His son Jesus, that all.
You guys on here who think Christians are intolerant are wrong. All we are doing is agreeing with God. If you have a problem with that, then you need to ask God to help you understand His perspective. He is REAL. He is alive. He will judge you one day. The Bible says it is appointed every man once to die and then the judgement.
You only have until your last breath on this earth to get right with God….and you don’t know when that last breath willl be do you? Only God knows that.
If you die without having your sins forgiven by Jesus Christ, it’ll be too late. Don’t do that!!!

It seems like some of you are missing the point. I’m “practicing” Christian, know the bible and the many scriptures very well and the scriptures dealing with the practice of homosexuality. As true Christians we do not “practice” sin. Now it also says that we should love our neighbor and worship the only true God. Now, my brother in law is Gay, not Christian and I dont hate him, not fond of his life style. He made a choice to live that way (not talking about choosing to be gay, but choose to live that lifestyle) just as I choose to be Christan and live Christ like life style. But in response to the flaunting. That could be said about a great many things people flaunt each day. I remember walking into an adult bookstore and nearly being assaulted by the Christian picket line out front that wanted the store torn down. This store, relagated to the warehouse district out of view of any children, was causing no one harm, but a group of people decided to go out of their way to flaunt their beliefs. I find that as innappropriate as it would be if a group of gay people picketed a church yelling at the people going in because it’s a gathering of people that believe that a gay lifestyle is wrong. I did not agree with the people in front of that book store, and I wouldn’t agree if gay people picketed a church, but the purpose of those parades is to make people aware of the assault, persecution, abuse, and discrimination gay people have faced. Pride events promote safe sex, safe ways to come out of the closet, and support for people who are scared to say who they are because their family might never speak to them again.
I’m glad you get along with your brother in law, but many brothers, brother in laws, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters are not as lucky. They are completely cutoff from their families and the people they care about for being nothing more than honest about who they are. Unfortunately for the large community of tolerant and Christ-like Christians out there, this is often times done in the name of the same God you worship and the same God that told his people not to judge lest they be judged.
This world is full of injustice. Please do not misunderstand an event promoting tolerance and safety and harmony because it seem distasteful. We all have some belief that someone would hang us for, so in some respect, we all stand before the gallows.

I put up my response to the event, but consider this my response to the responses.
I am right along side many of you in the “our country is at WAR” thought. We see it every day.
For the record, I am an Agnostic woman with a long list of “weird sexual fetishes”, a lifestyle slave, member of various BDSM communities, and I live with an Asguardian Pagan, a bisexual Wiccan, and their newborn child.
If you believe the lot of us is going to hell, so be it. You are very entitled to your beliefs. I will NEVER persecute you for believing in your God. I am for giving children of ALL religions time to pray at school, but I feel that discussions of religion are not the responsibility of the school and should be left to parents. Seperation of church and state is pretty fundemental.
That all being said, let me say this. You work next to people like me. Your children play next to the children of people like me. People like me are in the next car, the next booth at a restaraunt, and the house next door. Most people like me, have no wish to infringe upon your belief system. I dont know ONE pagan that thinks you should take the nativity sign out of your yard. After all, it is a pagan tradition you adopt each year when you bring an evergreen into your home at the same time. I dont know ONE gay person who wants to convert your children. I dont know ONE gay person who wants to meddle in the sexuality of children. Children are sacred.
Please don’t assume what I believe. Please don’t act like you have to “put up” with my sexual fetishes. Personally, I tell people who go out of their way to stick their nose in my bedroom, the private sex clubs I attend, or my religion to kiss my ass. I won’t let the government do it, so you are damn sure at the back of the list of people I let decide my beliefs. I won’t run around talking about putting up with you over your Christmas parade, nativity scenes, and the fact that someone cannot privately own a bar next to the land that someone put a church on because it offends some people. In return, I only ask to be able to live my life just as freely.

Turning away from the religious “debate” for a moment and back to the original article at hand…
I’m amazed that none of you have pointed out the fact that the Grandma in this story obviously doesn’t understand a basic constitutional right.
It’s funny how so many of you here allow yourself to pick and choose which freedoms should be allowed and which freedoms should be eliminated based on your own bias and prejudices.
The issue at hand is a simple one – freedom to assemble and freedom of speech.
What is NOT at issue here is someone’s emotion, opinion or beliefs.
As a openly bi-sexual man (and folks, time for a wake up call – I know TONS of gays and bi folk who visit and agree with Infowars views on politics, etc and are vastly on “your side”), and totally against the hate crimes bill (which almost every gay person I know is as well), I can respect Grandma’s views but not her wish to shut down a public gathering based only on her views.
What if Grandma was a liberal with an Obama t-shirt and was going to the police to shut down a gathering of 9/11 truthers or a parade of Ron Paul supporters? I bet you guys would be talking all kinds of constitutional violations and whining about how no one understands freedom and liberty.
Freedom has somehow become a feel good word and activity. Have we forgotten that sometimes Freedom is defined more by the activities and beliefs of those we don’t agree with more than the ones we do?
In my life I have defended many groups I totally, one hundred percent disagree with. The KKK, religious far right groups, including those who vilify and denounce homosexuality, etc. Why? Because I understand and respect freedom, liberty and free speech.
I don’t have to agree with it, I don’t have to accept it but I sure as hell will defend it because what silences them will eventually silence me. We each have a voice, which we usually waste on yelling and screaming at one another instead of discussing and debating.
Despite all your talk about the “elite” and New World Orders, most of you reading this are right where “they” want you. Mired in endless and un-winnable arguments about religion and prejudices and sometimes outright BS.
For those who can see past it all, a gay parade should actually re-enforce the idea that even in this cynical age, some freedom still exists.
I can’t let Grandma or her views, however well intentioned they may be, to silence freedom. After all, one day maybe her church will want to have a public gathering, or even…. gasp … hold a vigil or protest against next year’s parade. Take one away, the other goes as well.

Whether you argue that some gay people are really great people vs. the ones that flaunt or the ones that molest, know this…your time to argue even this point alone, however impartial it may seem, is illegal not in the near-future but right now! Your compassion is needed for certain people and compassion is in short supply; that much is true. But, I encourage you use your compassion a bit more smartly. To support gay rights because of their struggles neglects and insults a much needier class of people, one that exists in greater numbers too. Extend your compassion to retarded, disabled, sick, people. Unlike the indulgent gays who partake in excesses, know that they are lucky to just be able to partake. Many, gay or not, will never have that opportunity because of things that they have no control over.

Well if I look it up, it will most likely be found in “the fish the matt” book. However, Jesus walk the earth in the Bible as well as many other historical texts. As far as the gay sin issue in the Bible, its not just about marriage. The book of Romans refers to it as unatural.

I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. God is Holy and cannot accept sin(honor thy mother and father…, thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not steal, thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, thou shall not covet..etc…Exodus 20:12-17). It is a horrible and terrible place of everlasting torment that people will go because of their sins.

But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. He sent his Son Jesus(God manifest in the flesh-1 Timothy 3:16) who was conceived by a virgin by the Holy Spirit of God,lived a sinless life, and suffered a horrible death/shed blood and rose again 3 days later to take the penalty of YOUR sins so you dont have to pay for them in hell for eternity! He loved you so much which is why he did it! He is the only one to have fufilled the law perfectly(sinless) and paid the price of the entire world’s sins so that man could be saved on the merits of His perfection(see Romans 5:19). All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!

The Bible condemns the rich, the wealthy, and those who take advantage of the poor, so it CANNOT have been made up by the elite. Because the Word clearly CONDEMNS people such as those! It declares all mankind as sinners(myself included).

Why is it that these overzealous law enforcement types never call Alex to explain why we need any draconian laws that make “offensive” speech a crime. Granted, you don’t make the laws, but there’s no shortage of you opining in favor of this tyrannical dreck at the point of your badge and gun, ie, lecturing a grandmother. So partner, step up to the plate and give Alex a call; let him know that you’re a macho police officer, that there isn’t an order you will not follow. Religeous people who try to stand for the truth and speak up should only do so if they have the anointing of the spirit of Christ. Since she was afraid, that there tells me that maybe she stepped out in doing something that she did not have the anointing to do. Even though her view is correct, when a person is punished for being reproached for the name of Christ, the glory of God rests upon them and they are joyful, not fearful. The Baptist denominations basically quench the power of spirit of Christ and do not seek the infilling of the baptism so they are basically powerless to stand. When the apostles were taken before kings and great men and got in trouble for their standing up for the gospel, they did not back down and were not cowards because they were anointed to do that.
