Greenpeace Leader Admits Organization Put Out Fake Global Warming Data

Greenpeace leader Gerd Leipold has been forced to admit that his organization issued misleading and exaggerated information when it claimed that Arctic ice would disappear completely by 2030, in a crushing blow for the man-made global warming movement.
In an interview with the BBC’s Stephen Sackur on the “Hardtalk” program, Leipold initially attempted to evade the question but was ultimately forced to admit that Greenpeace had made a “mistake” when it said Arctic ice would disappear completely in 20 years.
The claim stems from a July 15 Greenpeace press release entitled “Urgent Action Needed As Arctic Ice Melts,” in which it is stated that global warming will lead to an ice-free Arctic by 2030.
Sackur accused Leipold and Greenpeace of releasing “misleading information” based on “exaggeration and alarmism,” pointing out that it was “preposterous” to claim that the Greenland ice sheet, a mass of 1.6 million square kilometers with a thickness of 3 km in the middle that has survived much warmer periods in history, would completely melt when it had stood firm for hundreds of thousands of years.
“There is no way that ice sheet is going to disappear,” said Sackur.
“I don’t think it will be melting by 2030. … That may have been a mistake,” Leipold was eventually forced to admit.
However, Leipold made no apologies for Greenpeace’s tactic of “emotionalizing issues” as a means of trying to get the public to accept its stance on global warming.

As the Watts Up With That blog highlights, “Leipold’s admission that Greenpeace issued misleading information is a major embarrassment to the organization, which often has been accused of alarmism but has always insisted that it applies full scientific rigor in its global-warming pronouncements.”
Similar claims that the north pole will be “ice free” crop up almost every summer yet are routinely disproved.
Indeed, it was discovered that during August 2007 to August 2008, Arctic ice had in fact grown by around 30 per cent, an area equivalent to the size of Germany.
A new peer reviewed study has also discovered, “Total annual precipitation in Greenland ice sheet for 1958-2007 to be up to 24% and surface mass balance up to 63% higher than previously thought.”
As we reported last year, climate scientists allied with the UN IPCC were also caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating, in another shocking example of mass public deception.
In November 2008, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, announced that the previous month had been the hottest October on record. It later emerged that the data produced by NASA to make the claim, and in particular temperature records covering large areas of Russia, was merely carried over from the previous month. NASA had used temperature records from the naturally hotter month of September and claimed they represented temperature figures in October.

Any real environmentalist knows greenpeace is a terrible sham of an organization. They fight the slaughter of innocent whales by the japanese by going on camera in Japan EATING WHALES with locals! Since it’s alright to “Emotionalize” issues, then why are scientists so hell bent on disproving, or denying God/Christ? I can’t right off the bat, prove the existence of the Lord, with any scientific methods that I know of, it’s all my personal (Emotionalized) experience’s, that prove the existence of God! My children can’t learn about creation in schools, because faith is nothing more than an emotion, according to atheist scientists, but Green Peace can lie, & say it’s for the betterment of our world. I love the hypocrisy of the Godless heathens, the puzzle pieces never fit, but they won’t look at that, they’ll just continue on with a life, void of morality & conviction! I don’t like being told what I can & can’t do either, but when I see the consequences of my wicked actions, I always wish I had listened. Searing the conscience, doesn’t make God go away, just his blessings & grace!

I am not a theist as some here may already have gathered. However, I believe in treating people as I would want to be treated, I believe in the family, I believe in honesty, helpfulness, empathy and tolerance. I believe that people should have equal rights regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. I believe in government by and for the people and I am against the tyranny of the NWO.
I am against bigots, people who are violent and people who hurt the innocent.
I will not get into the morality of the bible or separation of church and state, but Tailgunner is right on. People derive their morals from their hearts, not a book. If somehow, the bible was absolutely, unequivocally proven to be fallacious, would you then start raping and pillaging? We need to unite and erase all notions of division. Actually babarishka, the Bible itself – in the Old and New Testament says God’s law is written on your heart. It’s your conscience, a deep sense of what is right and wrong, true and false. The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah, speaking under the inspiraction of the Holy Spirit of God said: “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My Laws into their mind and write them in their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” (This is not today’s literal Israel, but everyone down through history who follows Jesus Christ)
Then Paul in Romans 2 wrote: “For it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. For when the nations, who do not have the Law, do by nature the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law unto themselves; who show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness … “

Well, hopefully there will be more lies exposed about global warming. I heard on the radio that at most of the places where temperatures are recorded “for gov record” the thermometers were near air conditioner units “outside”, on roofs, near or on asphalt, etc. Around 90 percent of the time. No Cap And Trade Tax. We have the EPA I am a poor carpenter. Taxes are already around 35 to 40 cents to every dollar. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

My uncle worked in Antarctica and he said Greenpeace would come down, take trash out of the dumpsters, and take pictures. They would then claim that this was the state that the researchers left Antarctica in and used the pictures to promote their agenda. I wouldn’t put this past them…

They continually promote “climate experts” whose expertise is limited to reading a thermometer and you report their often fraudulent opinions as fact.
There may be two sides to every story but sometimes it’s “right and wrong.” I’ve been following your career since day one, Alex, and you are becoming a cartoon character.
