I read Rebecca Rasmussen’s article “Concealed weapons threaten campus safety,” published Sept. 28, about her concerns with those permit holders who might carry a concealed weapon on campus.

In the article she recounted the qualifications but failed to mention that the permit holders must be 21 or older.

Additionally, you might consider that Utah is considered the state with the fewest gun-control laws while California has the most state gun-control laws with more than 20. California also has a rate of violent crime that is four times higher than the rate in Utah, according to FBI crime statistics.
