Gun-grabber Rep. Carolyn McCarthy Introduces “No Fly, No Buy Act”

In 2007, then Democrat member of the United States House of Representatives, Rahm Emanuel, told the gathered at the annual Stand Up For a Safe America event sponsored by the Brady Center that if your name is on the terrorist no fly list you will not be allowed to own a gun.

In 2007, according to the Inspector General of the FBI-administered Terrorist Screening Center, there were well over 700,000 names on the no-fly database and the list was growing at an astronomical rate of 20,000 records per month. That means the list now contains more than a million people. Senator Ted Kennedy, Rep. John Lewis, and former Senator Ted Steven’s wife, Catherine Stevens are on the list.
According to Rahm Emanuel, now Obama’s Chief of Staff, every last one of them are terrorists who will have their Second Amendment right to own a firearm stripped.
Rahm Emanuel wasn’t blowing smoke. His proposal to rob more than a million Americans of their Second Amendment right to own firearms may soon become law if a notorious gun-grabber has her way.
On May 13, Democrat Rep. Carolyn McCarthy introduced The No Fly, No Buy Act (H.R. 2401), a bill that will merge the TSA’s no-fly list with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), a point-of-sale system for determining eligibility to purchase a firearm in the United States, Guam, and Puerto Rico. It was created in November of 1993 when the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993 (Brady Act), Public Law 103-159, was signed into law. Permanent provisions of the Brady Act went into effect on November 30, 1998, and required the U.S. Attorney General to establish NICS.

“For far too long, the ‘terror gap’ has left a wide open loophole in our nation’s gun safety laws that could allow terrorist to acquire guns the same way any law abiding citizen can,” McCarthy declared as she introduced her bill. McCarthy and Congressman Steve Israel, flanked by law enforcement officials, stressed “the importance of keeping guns out of the hands of people that are known or suspected terrorists,” according to the Floral Park Dispatch. “For far too long, the ‘terror gap’ has left a wide open loophole in our nation’s gun safety laws that could allow terrorists to acquire guns the same way any law abiding citizen can. The No Fly, No Buy Act uses existing TSA data to update the NICS system with the names of known or suspected terrorists to disqualify them from passing the Brady Background Check. This is a common sense gun bill that will prevent guns from falling into the wrong hands,” McCarthy said.

“Since September 11, 2001, Congress has passed many laws to improve homeland security,” the Floral Park Dispatch continues. “Yet, this loophole remains open. If someone is denied the chance to board an airplane because of suspected ties to terrorists, then they should also be denied the opportunity to purchase a gun. Individuals with ties to terrorists have bought guns in the past and used them to kill Americans.”
The language of H.R. 2401 reads as follows: “To increase public safety and reduce the threat to domestic security by including persons who may be prevented from boarding an aircraft in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, and for other purposes,” according to the Open Congress website. Govtrack.us reports that the bill was referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
It does not take a lot of imagination to speculate what “other purposes” will ultimately mean.

The passengers were apparently unloaded in a NASA hangar and killed (probably by gassing), then rendered of their tissues and the bones sliced into small peices.

Sorry Charlie… errrr. Carolyn. You’re too late. I already bought all I need. Besides, there are many available guns without the paperwork. Also there is another factor to consider. When you stop allowing people to legally purchase guns, you will develop a cottage industry of back yard manufacturers. If you need an example just take a look at the Philippines. The Cebu area is flooded with “manufacturers” and you can buy just about anything you want. The advantages are that you get the gun with no paperwork whatsoever and they are not serialized so good luck with tracing them if used in a crime. I swear, some of these “leaders” are so stupid you wonder how they get dressed every morning. How hard do they think it is to manufacture simple projectile weapons? If they make it illegal then it won’t be available anymore right? It worked with prohibition right? Seems to be working great with drugs also.

Then make a list of lists we need, people who can’t rent cars or hotel rooms ( because terrorist need to travel too ), people who can’t buy deodorent, soap, shampoo, and razors ( making it easier to spot/smell the terrorist. Then we need a list of people we need to deny public utilities and final food, that will solve the problem. Anything not on this list will be on the next list.

If you have a Restraining Order against you, and if it has been filed by the court into the right databases, you cannot buy. They claim it is a Federal Offense to own a gun or buy ammunition- even if the RO was automatically put on your record because you were in a divorce or child custody case.
People do not believe how easy it is for someone to get an RO against you. Remember the David Letterman case? Some whack job in New Mexico claimed he was beaming secret love messages to her tinfoil hat while he was doing his monologues. Then a Judge actually believed her and put an RO on Letterman, who had NEVER in his life met the lunatic.

remember all the stories of all those critics of the bush administration getting put on the no-fly list for making or attending a speech critical of bush administration policies. people who attended protests were told by tsa agents that is why they are on the list. people with the same or similar names to those critics, protestors, and activists are on the list. now i suspect critcs, protestors, and activists who disagree with the obama administration as well as those with the same or similar names of those people will swell these black lists beyond belief. no evidence, no charges, no convictions, no flights, no guns, no rights. good luck getting off the list once you are on as innocent as you are!!!! look for these “lists” to expand in the future, exclude more rights, and prohibit more and more as this pattern of tyranny seems to grow exponentially. lets hope that things do not get to the point where people on these “lists” are rounded up and taken to the fema camps. First off just say what you mean…these terrorists, the people you are calling terrorists, are legal immigrants. Yes, I see Pakistani men owning gas stations in my neighborhood. I see Indians running and owning 7-11 stores. I buy food from some of the small Asian markets run by Chinese people or African people in my area. But calling them terrorists is laughable.
You’re angry because of all the foreigners in our country. You’re angry that our government gives them a seven year tax break, a new business, countless other advantages while they continue to weaken the American middle class and the American working man. The Politicians are allowing and causing the destruction of normal American families while strengthening the foreign born immigrants who will eventually become naturalized American citizens.
I get this and I’m right there with you…but…The politicians are the ones to blame, not these immigrants. They’re just people, some good and some bad. I’ve met both types when dealing with these immigrants. I take the good and leave the bad. But for you to call them terrorists is quite a stretch, don’t you think? What evidence have you got besides Muslims locking up their mosques?

There’s an obvious logic flaw in the senator’s line of reasoning; why would a “terrorist” buy a gun for the purpose of “terror” in the same way a law-abiding citizen would when they know that over the years, sales of firearms have been increasingly tracked and monitored via background checks, registration, etc.? This bill will be found unconstitutional if passed. The Reps can pass any bill they want, but if they are unconstitutional they will be found to be that way.
