Fox News’ Sean Hannity doesn’t let his religion get in the way for his support of a controversial anti-terror tactic.
Hannity invited Meghan McCain on his show to talk about a court filing by 9/11 defendants detained at Guantanamo Bay. The group of detainees had admitted that they were "terrorists to the bone."
"They declared war on us and we’re fighting a war and we know there is about 60-some odd detainees that have gone back to the battlefield. Why for the first time ever would we give rights to enemy combatants?" asked Hannity.
Meghan McCain seemed to agree. "What competent person thinks this is a good idea? Literally when I think of my brother and his people and his platoon, the people I know over there fighting for this so we can let them go so they can attack us again? It’s insane," she said.
Hannity then moved to the subject of torture. "Do you disagree with your dad at all about enhanced interrogations?" asked Hannity. John McCain has been vocal about his opposition to torture.

"Because my attitude is that if we capture an enemy combatant in the battlefield — or we can use Osama bin Laden — who may have information about a pending attack. You know what, I don’t have any problem taking his head sticking it underwater and scaring the living daylights out of him and making him think we’re drowning him," declared Hannity, "and I’m a Christian."
McCain disagreed. "I think it’s what separates us from the terrorists . My father could never lift me up as a child because he can’t move his arm. He can’t ride a bike because he can’t bend his knee because he was tortured. I think he knows better," she said.

Here’s the bottom line. Can you give me a list of the men who are being held at Gitmo right now? Can you give me a list of the charges against them? Can you tell me where they were detained? (and please don’t regurgitate what you have fed by the media. I want to know what you know first hand.)
I have been to Iraq twice with the Army and have spoken to many Muslim civilians. I would venture to say that you have not. I used to believe the way you did before I saw first hand what we are doing to these people.
You must remember Enoch, We invaded their countries! It’s like smashing a hornet’s nest with a stick and then acting surprised when they sting you.
If Russia (hypothetically) invaded the U.S. tomorrow, would you defend our country or would you wave Russian flags in the street? What if China decided to call us on our debt and invaded? Would you take up arms to defend American soil?
This may come as a shock to you, but Iraq and Afghanistan had NOTHING to do with 9-11! That isn’t even based on a belief that 9-11 was an inside job. This is based on our government’s own admission that these countries had nothing to do with the attack.
Most of these men were captured fighting against invading U.S. forces! Again, I say this as a member of that invading force in 2003 and 2005.
These men should be afforded all the rights of the Geneva Convention and either convicted or released.
I know you are going to say that having them in custody and the having the info they provided has saved us from another attack, but what evidence do you have of that? American soldiers are trained to do the exact same thing. We are trained to fight to the death against our enemies and if captured we are to do everything we can do to escape. If we are released, we go right back to the front. Why should we expect any different from them?
I know 4 men were said to have just plead guilty to planning the attacks on 9-11, but I would expect that any of would admit guilt after 8 years of torture at the “Ministry of Love” in Cuba.
I used to think just like you Enoch (and anyone else who feels this way), please try and understand what I am saying.

But, I can’t see Christ riding or driving around in a car. I can’t see Him paying a mortgage on a house. I can’t see Him voting. I can’t see Him surfing the web. I can’t see Him defending “patriotism”. I can’t see Him blogging. I can’t see Him baptizing people in a cold hot tub inside a modern day church. I can’t see Him shopping for new clothes, or looking in the mirror checking out His fashion choice. I can’t see Him singing modern day worship songs. I can’t see Him eating genetically modified food. With regard to the detainees… Without a fair trial you cannot ascertain the guilt or innocence of a person. With all the reports of people in occupied Iraq and Afghanistan turning in random goat herders for the cash reward of turning in suspected terrorists, you can hardly claim that anyone detained is, ipso facto, an enemy combatant or terrorist. THIS IS WHERE I DISAGREE WITH MOST ON THIS TOPIC. I think what is torture in one culture would not be used in another. For eg. We would not cut off the heads of our detainees. But Islamo fascists will. If I thought that the man I had in my possession knew something about the whereabouts of my child who was being threatened with death, do you think I would hesitate to force his head down into a tub of water? No, I would not. But I would stop at plucking fingernails and drawing blood or electrocution. I would use lesser means to try to extract information if it meant the person might crack under fear of death. I think there has got to be a limit and that limit is strongly enforced and controlled. You can’t have people in there who “enjoy” hurting another human being. It has to be done with the goal of keeping the person alive but affecting them psychologically. We have people who believe in the death penalty and people who don’t. Tactics using pain and fear is not a beautiful thing nor ought it be. It is the most repulsive and barbaric a thing… but to save the life or the lives of people, one must consider that compliance from a known and dangerous enemy is a necessary evil.

The idea of torture is the application of physical pain and trauma in order to create fear of further pain and trauma and/or death. This is universal from culture to culture. The ways in carrying it out may vary, as would the initial intentions (e.g to interrogate, to punish, serial sadism) but the final goal is the same, to break the mind through the body. Nobody sedates a person and then lashes them with a whip, the idea is for them to be wide awake so they feel everything.
And thus torture is torture across all cultures, the means to cary it out, moral opinions, and terminology may differ but it is still meant to break the minds of those being tortured. On of the reasons for the application of torture is for interrogation. Problem is, as has been widely noted, when used as a part of information gathering the information harvested is what the torturer/s want to hear, and not necessarily needs to hear. A lot of misinformation has come out of this.
Also, the process of torture is a two way street. Torturing people dehumanizes the participants, and while some may say this is a necessary price to pay, do remember that as they get dehumanized then the information they extract may also become less reliable.

Sean Hannity should be framed for terrorism, rended by homeland security, imprisoned, and water boarded until he gags and must be resuscitated with CPR, and have all of his constitutional rights terminated for up to a year, and see if he still talks the same about excluding our legal system from certain individuals of horrendous crimes.
national security is in jeopardy if the public are left in the dark about it’s gov’t. war, torture, etc etc etc, is all terrifying to people and is intimidating, therefore, our gov’t is guilty of terrorism.

Hannity is correct. No other religion has been spread through so much violence like Christianity.
Christianity has a very hard time co-existing with other faiths and that is why the more non religious a “Christian nation” becomes the more tolerant it is.

The founding fathers knew this fact very well. Fundamentalist Christians cannot sit peacefully and allow other people to NOT believe exactly what they believe. They must either convert those around them or torture and kill them. This is a historical fact and we see some glimpses of this attitude after the deceptive 9/11 false flag operation which Christians LOVE to blame on the Muslims. As a former navy 20 year veteran as a special warfare operator and Diver I have attended SERE school and been waterboarded five times. IF it’s good enough for the Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, and sailors it’s applicable to terrorist that are going to kill our brothers in arms. Breaking arms and using electricity is torture, and I would in some cases advocate that if it would break down the mindset of a Muslim that doesn’t” think like Americans do. These People are chicken s--- bastards they have no stomach for pain. We as Americans are forgetting that they come from a different culture and don’t have the stomach for being underwater; hell they have never been in a swimming pool. Obama is a pussy, and has no place being in charge of our armed forces, (period). We need to elect a former military commander that has been in charge of men, and still has a background in economics. Now the question is raised where do you find such a person. All of our top ranking military men have been to college and are very educated, I just hope that someone of that caliber emerges in the next four years, and runs for president, and has no ties to Bilderberg, Skull and bones, and takes no s--- from people like queen Pelosi. Mixing mild mannered and soft spoken inmates with rough and tough gang bangers is cruel. The Bernie Madoff isolation should be highlighted as an example of what is wrong with the prison system. Putting Bernie into the general population would have resulted in him being torn apart or at best severely abused. Isolating him was the only solution. This was done by putting him into protective custody. He is now being tortured by not only being separated from his loved ones and peers but from any normal kind of communication. This is called sensory deprivation and even the Devil would not have resorted to that type of punishment. It should be outlawed and not used on any prisoner. There are more humane ways of punishment than driving inmates out of their minds by torturing them with extreme isolation.
