The appearance of President Barack Obama in a BuzzFeed comedy skit has young Americans praising the Commander in Chief for his “down to earth” style.

In an effort to convince impressionable and feeble-minded millennials to traverse his dangerously vulnerable healthcare website, President Obama clutched a selfie-stick and “acted like one of the guys” by staring at himself in a mirror.

How did we get Obama to use a selfie stick? Oh, because he wants you to go to https://www.healthcare.gov/,” the video’s description states.

Reveling in their own ignorance towards the actual policies of the nation’s leader, Buzzfeed commenters lauded the collaborative video.

I’m in love with the fact that a world leader can be so down to earth,” April Torres said, seemingly unaware of the Nobel Peace Prize recipient’s penchant for bragging about his admiration of killing people.

“Great president? Or greatest president?Joshua Stankiewicz said, possibly in love with Obama’s savage assault on the First Amendment, resulting in more espionage charges against journalists than all other presidents combined in the last 100 years.

BuzzFeeders were quick to attack any commenter who dared bring facts and logic into the discussion, ready and equipped with Reddit talking points to defend the president’s honor.

“…congress is ridiculous and power hungry and wants to… be able to freely monitor all your internet activity…” Beryl Stone parroted, ignoring the president’s role in continuing the NSA’s warrantless bulk data collection.

In reality, President Obama has simply mastered and expanded the techniques of Edward Bernays, the father of modern propaganda.

As noted by Guardian author Nick Cohen, presidents have used Bernays’ techniques to transform themselves into unaccountable celebrity icons instead of public servants.

In 1928 he (Bernays) wrote in his honestly titled Propaganda, that ‘those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country,'” Cohen stated. “Bernays advised presidents to become objects of desire by being seen with film stars.”

The president’s endless attempt to seem “hip” and “cool” by appearing with countless celebrities has given him near total immunity among the hoards of social media hipsters.

Secret kill lists, allowing Americans to be placed in military prisons indefinitely without charges and blowing up children with hellfire missiles are mere footnotes in Obama’s legacy of selfies, late night appearances and Hollywood shindigs.

Others, not impressed with the Obama-Buzzfeed crossover, used the opportunity to instead point out the president’s anti-constitutional agenda.
