Homeland Security to takeover airline watch lists

WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security will take responsibility from airlines for checking passenger names against watch lists beginning in January and will require all commercial passengers for the first time to provide their full name, date of birth and gender as a condition of boarding a flight, U.S. officials said Wednesday.
The changes will be phased in next year for the 2 million passengers each day aboard domestic and international flights to, from or over the United States. It marks the Bush administration’s long-delayed fulfillment of a top aviation security priority identified after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, an effort that has long spurred privacy concerns.
Speaking at Reagan National Airport, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Transportation Security Administration chief Kip Hawley said that by gathering more personal information from passengers, the government will dramatically cut down on instances of mistaken identity that have wrongly delayed travelers or kept them off flights.
Over the years, countless travelers have faced difficulties because their names are similar to those on the agency’s no-fly list or a second list of “selectees” identified for added questioning.
They include infants and toddlers, Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and the wife of Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, Catherine, whose name is similar to Cat Stevens, the former name of the watch-listed pop singer who converted to Islam.
“We know that threats to our aviation system persist,” Chertoff said. “Secure Flight will help us better protect the traveling public while creating a more consistent passenger pre-screening process, ultimately reducing the number of misidentification issues.”

lemme tell you something. Big brother already controls the airlines in my book. Recently I flew to see a friend for a few days in CA. Not being a frequent flyer I checked out the requirments for getting on a domestic flight. I was told I needed
a photo ID.
Okay I thought. I have that. I have a drivers license picture that is 4 years old and even though the license is not longer valid……..it it still a picture ID issued by the government and I would be okay.
The nice lady whose job it was to look at drivers licsences stopped me. I stood there for a few minutes until another official came and took me into a private room with a few computer screens and telephones.
There my entire life history was asked of me. Many times in different ways. Who was my father, mother, where I was born, where they were born. What type job I had including many details concerning it. All the way down to what color my 20 year old boat is. I realized right then and there that someone has records of me in detail ….that scare me.
Finally I was let on the plane.
I knew I was going to have the same problem coming back. But what other choice did I have?
I got in line and was stopped when I showed my liscence though to a different woman doing the same job. Things were different this time though. I was not asked so many questions. No questions actually. I was just patted down by someone who was looking for his next break from work. If it was so important to check me out before I went then why not as much when I come back?
I look at things……all things…. with a periscope. I question everything sometimes to the ridiculious. I am very curious about things also. I have spent many many hours in my life in libraries reading history and investigating things told to me. I questioned teachers in every grade to explain things.
If I were an owner of the world instead of a small business I would be advertising things trying to get them to think my way. But remember this. Just like all humans as perverted as somes thinking may be………for my benifit.
I truly enjoyed the streaming time spent with Naomi Wolf today. It is obvious that she looks at things from only one side of the paradigm. It was obvious she hasn’t a clue………just like the guys on the other side of the paradighm do not. To her she thinks GW is taking over. She obviously does not read history She built her wealth on a side just as many in Fox News and ridiculous AM talk radio built thiers on from the other side.
There is a difference in people’s thinking.
Am glad mine is centered.

I am not surprised they are doing this-people need to wake up! All of this “security” is such a joke. They have one thing in min and only one thing; control and inflicting fear on others. Don’t break the rules or…..
Get your “official” papers in order and challenge them on EVERYTHING-I mean if they ask you the last time you had a bowel movement, ask them if they will report you for being 5 minutes later than usual because of the legal medications they prescribed. These dark power freaks are crooks and has nothing to do with “national security” –more like personal security. We have to fight back-my name and my details are private–whats next? a concentration camp? I object first of all to the word “homeland”. That’s a great Nazi term if you live in the “Motherland”. Who gave the individual in the oval office the authority to altar the name of my country?
Secondly, I do not trust this Chertoff character one bit. We now have what I consider an untrustworthy government appointee telling American citizens to line up and spout off their data.
Surprising they haven’t asked us to click our heels yet. Does this person with dubious character
get to decide who flies? whose name goes on an enemy list? I want my country back and the
Unamerican activities to cease and desist. We all know who the terrorists are–the ones trying to
harass American citizens while they feign patriotism.
Neither Republican or Democratic candidate will get rid of this obnoxious police state mentality. They are both part of the problem, not the solution. We stand a much better chance of restoring sanity to this nation with an Independent candidate such as Chuck Baldwin or Ralph Nadar.
I could live with either one because they have integrity and want to restore our country. One of these two candidates even said he would immediately REPEAL the patriot act (the Unpatriotic Act). One of the candidates said he would review each of the signing statements and undoubtedly get rid of 95%. One of the two candidates said he would immediately secure the border. (This is not a backlash against people from another country, but common sense–a border defines a country.)
The globalist infiltrating our government have worked against the citizenry to destroy our dignity and identity robbing us of our very right to a secure border.
Time to wake up and depart from both major parties. Do your part to take back America.

Wow, I was wondering how I was able to fly across the country recently without a hitch and yet have been under constant surveillance for reporting chemtrails to local authorities. Anyone even looking at this this site is suspect so why not get the greatest bang for our buck and give them hell everyday. Chertoff finds silver lining in economy
Urges creation of worker program during decline in illegal crossings

WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Thursday urged the next president to take advantage of slowing illegal immigration during the country’s economic downturn to create a temporary guest worker program.
Chertoff issued the appeal during a news conference where he also blamed Texans’ court challenges for delaying efforts to complete all 110 miles of border fence in the state.
The country’s economic situation, he said, will likely give the next chief executive and Congress an opportunity to focus on creating a foreign worker program.
Chertoff said he favors creation of a “regulated, legal, visible and secure path” to enable foreign workers to be employed on a temporary basis to perform jobs left unfilled by U.S. citizens.
“We can make really good use of this time to continue to build the border protection that we need,” he said. “I think we can actually lock in the progress we’ve made (on enforcement) so that that if economic conditions change down the road, we can bring people through the open front door instead of sneaking over the back fence.”
Chertoff described his approach after citing the economic downturn as a factor in the apparent decline of illegal immigrants. He cited statistics from the Pew Hispanic Center showing the estimated number of illegal immigrants may have declined from 12.4 million in 2007 to 11.9 million in 2008.
Texans delaying fence
Chertoff said legal challenges by Texas landowners controlling “a significant number of parcels” had impeded efforts to finish the state’s portion of 670 miles of pedestrian and vehicle fence planned from Brownsville to San Diego by Dec. 31.
“Some people (in Texas) are very determined to litigate this to the hilt, and court takes time,” he said.
He added that his department had prevailed in every court case that reached a conclusion.
Authorities plan 109.5 miles of pedestrian fence along Texas’ 1,241-mile border with Mexico.
U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement agency spokeswoman Angela de Rocha said Thursday that 3.3 miles of the fence in Texas had been completed and 104.1 miles are “under contract.”
Eagle Pass Mayor Chad Foster, head of the Texas Border Coalition that sued to block fence construction, said Chertoff had “no one to blame but himself” for delays.
“It is counter-productive for federal officials in Washington, D.C., to dictate a one-size-fits-all fence along the border,” Foster said.
Of 670 miles of barriers planned along the country’s 1,933-mile border with Mexico, 370 miles have been completed, Chertoff said.
By the end of the year, he said, “we can get close to our goal in terms of miles that are actually finished or literally under construction and under way to being built, or in some cases under contract.”

Court order over EU terror list
Europe’s governments were ordered by a court to follow the UK’s lead and take Iran’s main opposition group off a blacklist of suspected terror organisations.
The European Court of First Instance in Luxembourg upheld a legal claim by the exiled People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) that there is no justification for including the group and freezing its funds.
The ruling is the latest in a series of verdicts supporting the PMOI’s demands to be removed from the list – but the battle is not over.
The case was an appeal against a decision by the EU’s Council of Ministers last December to keep the PMOI on its terror list.
That decision came just weeks after the UK’s own independent judicial authority, the Proscribed Organisations Appeal Commission (POAC) ordered the PMOI’s removal from the UK list. But the PMOI stayed on the UK list until June this year – and still remains on the EU list after a review in July.
The European judges said last December’s EU decision should be annulled because there was no justification for including the PMOI.
There was no evidence, added the judges, that the EU ministers had fulfilled their requirement to take account of the POAC ruling on the PMOI case, which had been the first by a “competent judicial authority” in the UK.
The PMOI was originally included on the EU list at UK insistence in 2002, after then Home Secretary Jack Straw put the PMOI on the Government’s own list.
Years of PMOI objections resulted in a European Court ruling in December 2006 that PMOI inclusion was “unlawful”. The Court said the group was seeking regime change in Teheran by political, non-violent means. But EU governments – including the UK – took no action, claiming the ruling was based on a technicality.
Then last November came the POAC’s damning verdict. POAC chairman Sir Harry Ognall, a former judge, said the Government’s decision to blacklist the PMOI was “perverse” and “unreasonable”, because it had not been involved in any military activity since August 2001, and had disarmed in 2003.

But you are right about people, and some are just in the dark even though it is in your face. MS. Wolfe seams like a very nice lady, but does not hae a clue because in her mind she did not need to look for this stuff, or it was just so horrible that she couldd not bring her mind to accept the reality of what is going on.
So many people into the new age or who are peaacee loving really can’t get their minds around what they are doing to us, or what they are getting ready to do.

Every day the CORPORATION of America is coming up with new deals to incrementally make you The PEOPLE, the SLAVES to their CORPORATION. If you let them get away with this, they will NEVER be defeated from the power they are giving to themselves as your owners / Controllers.
I don’t think they will do any MASSIVE terror event to happen in America simply because they cannot afford to lose the huge amount of money they take in through your TAXES.
If the System is imploded, this revenue will disappear which is what they do NOT want. They rely on this to get control and if it goes away they lose control.
This is a SCIENTIFIC DICTATORSHIP, Everything is done VERY SLOWLY so as not to disturb the money that comes in. They incrementally grab total control while you work to feed them these dollars and it is all scientifically calculated to give them maximum control in the shortest period of time.
Everything that is done will evenually lead to us being the slaves to the system that was created when the “New Deal” was implemented in 1932/33 and they have had a timeline to adhere to from that time and it is now the END GAME of that very plan.
Our NEW DEAL must take this incremental power from them and return it to the people! We must stop relying on Politicians to make ALL the decisions for us and We the People MUST be involved in the decision making process from NOW ON.
