House Republican plans to tack telecom immunity onto war funding bill

Amid maneuvering by House Democrats to add domestic spending to a planned war appropriations bill, Republican House Rep. Jerry Lewis (CA-41) plans to do them one better:
Lewis, ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, seeks to tack on retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies who spied on Americans for President Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program, The Hill reports.
"It’s time for the Democratic leaders to put our national security ahead of the desires of trial lawyers and pass the FISA bill that was passed by the Senate," Lewis said. "This Congress should make this legislation one of its top priorities until the intelligence gap is closed."

Republican House Rep. Jerry Lewis has no right to tack immunity on any war spending bill which by the way does not exist as no war was declared by either House of the U.S. Congress, nor by the Senate 9/11/01 Investigating Committee!
It is to reiterate that the invasion of American ‘privacy’ destroys the U.S. Federal and State governments and their first priority, paid our U.S. tax dollars to protect Americans, our American families and properties from those who mean to do us harm.
To misrepresent, to over-throw or to destroy U.S. Federal or State government(s) is a ‘Terrorist Act’ that can not be shielded by Executive Privileges and is punishable by death, the confiscation of all properties and financial accounts of the malefactors and their collaborators as mandated by the U.S. Federal and State laws these miscreants want to demolish, and under a ‘Declared War on Terrorists’ presently waged in this United States, these penalties are exacted without recourse, or the republic is ruined into a Third World Hovel.
The law above is represented by all 189 member countries of the International Criminal Court!
One can not argue to break the law and then make exemptions as stupidity is no excuse to break the law! -Al Koppel.
