Derrick Broze of the Houston Free Thinkers approached Houston Mayor Annise Parker during a stump speech for election participation to urge her to rethink water fluoridation, an issue he has met with her on before.
Parker stated with a smirk her belief in its effectiveness for teeth (a myth), even as she acknowledged hearing about the Harvard study which showed fluoride lowers IQ, along with other damning research that should make all leaders in public policy reconsider the decades long practice.
Though she brushed off the encounter, polite activism is nevertheless crucial to educate elected officials on new studies showing the danger of fluoride, as well as to demonstrate the growing will of the people to reject such unscientific forced mass medication.
