“If every member pledged to not vote for it if they hadn’t read it in its entirety, I think we would have very few votes,” Hoyer told CNSNews.com at his regular weekly news conference.
Hoyer was responding to a question from CNSNews.com on whether he supported a pledge that asks members of the Congress to read the entire bill before voting on it and also make the full text of the bill available to the public for 72 hours before a vote.

I don’t think this kind of blatant criminality should surprise any one of us. The American people seem to be quite comfortable with the leaders they continue to vote for and elect. It doesn’t matter anymore. Our country is dead, stick a for in her. I agree with you but I’ll go one further; Shouldn’t they be the ones writing the laws instead of the lobbyists working for the multinational corporations which in turn are owned by the Banksters? This is all one huge game, a gigantic scam and the people are too stupid to do anything about it. If a Gentile exposes Zionism, they are called “anti-semitic” which is nothing more than a smokescreen to hide the Zionists actions.
But, if a Jew is the person doing the exposing, they resort to other tactics.
First, they ignore the charges, hoping the information will not be given widespread distribution.
If the information starts reaching too many people, they ridicule the information and the persons giving the information.
If that doesn’t work, their next step is character assassination. If the author or speaker hasn’t been involved in sufficient scandal they are adept at fabricating scandal against the person or persons.
If none of these are effective, they are known to resort to physical attacks.
But, NEVER do they try to prove the information wrong.

It will attain world dominion by the dissolution of other races, by the abolition of frontiers, the annihilation of monarchy and by the establishment of a world republic in which the Jews will everywhere exercise the privilege of citizenship.
In this New World Order the children of Israel will furnish all the leaders without encountering opposition. The Governments of the different peoples forming the world republic will fall without difficulty into the hands of the Jews. It will then be possible for the Jewish rulers to abolish private property and everywhere to make use of the resources of the state. Thus will the promise of the Talmud be fulfilled, in which is said that when the Messianic time is come, the Jews will have all the property of the whole world in their hands.”

The fact that someone is proposing this as a law is a sad commentary on our society and our pieces of shit in gov’t. You’d think it would be common sense. But anyone who would have to be “forced” to read a bill before voting on it is probably not looking in anyone’s best interest than their own and won’t do the right thing anyway.

These bills are written by lobbyists working for the gigantic multinational corporations which in turn are owned by the Banksters and the Royals. The bills are purposefully written to be long and drawn out and filled with legalese so that 99% of the people, even if they read them, wouldn’t understand much of anything anyhow. Your basic politician is as stupid as a shit bird to begin with so there isn’t much hope of them attempting to read these bills. The whole freaking system is a scam from its very inception. Trying to take it back would be more trouble than it’s worth. After learning some very important new information we are better off with a Revolution rather then trying to restore an already broken and flawed Constitution.
You may as well admit the truth to yourselves, there will be no peaceful revolution or redress of grievances by this government. Anyone hanging onto the notion that there will be positive peaceful change is either too damned naive or just to frightened to admit the truth to themselves. We’re sunk. Are we too tired to keep fighting now? This problem will never go away.. No person will ever change politics. We will have to keep on them endlessly for our entire lives and teach our children to do the same thing. I feel our problem lies with teaching our children. The kids are grown up now.. the monkeys are running the zoo and unless we find some old guy to come back and show us how it’s done one more time.. that’s the end. We are losing this country because we stopped trying. We stopped making them do what we needed to remain a democracy. We’re thru if we don’t get out there now and do something. How can one maintain a decent golf game when they are expected to spend time poring over the trivial clauses and sections of such a gamechanging bill? Spooner’s book is a quick must read for everybody. “Hologram of Liberty” and “The Rules of the Game” by Phillip Freneau should be read if only for the blueprint of means and strategies of undermining the spirit of the Constitution. You should have included the The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine and the Federalist Papers (know your enemy) also. So much history and information in books and so little time. Thats the problem with the computer there is no hard copy. What if the new internet doesnt allow that content. It could be hate speech under HR1913 and S909.
Americans educate yourselves. Wake TFU. It’s your job to educate you and those around you. Some of you dont know. But the problem there is you dont know you dont know. Like many of you, I’ve considered entering politics to correct this mess, however, I no longer believe there is a peacefull route out of this. Like Mr. Griffin (the author of “The creature from jekyll island) states, even if we are able to take back congress, take back the senate, take back the presidency, the financial controlers will just implode the economy and the society to gain leverage and the following of a brain dead, pathetic population. The anger of the people will be directed at those trying to fix the system and will find themselves at the end of a rope, an end I have no interest in myself. If you laugh at this and say that it can’t happen, check a “real” history book and what was done against Andrew Jackson with a much less powerfull central bank. There is NO MORE TIME FOR DENIAL AND IGNORANCE!! Instead what needs to be done is legislation needs to be put in place to have synopsis of all the major points of the bill, or an overall bill summary with the details but not the pages and pages of redundant language This would be mandatory reading if you were to vote on it.
Voice of the Republic Reply:

A better idea is something which came from, I believe it was, the Icelandic “Allthing” (their “Congress”): Single Issue Bills! No “riders”, “Earmarks”, “extraneous amendments”, etc.: in other words, NOTHING which does not pertain to the titled subject of the Bill. One could NOT, for instance, attach a “rider” to a necessary “defense” bill, which is, actually, a completely “other” bill to build a “bridge to nowhere” to line the pockets of a powerful legislator’s home district!
If each and every bill was limited to a SINGLE issue, there would be 2 advantages: 1) There would be a vast reduction of bills which could otherwise not “pass muster” on their own merits (or lack thereof) and, 2) The resulting bills would be far easier to actually READ, since a single bill would NOT “groan under the weight” of extraneous issues.
Keith Shelton Reply:
July 9th, 2009 at 10:36 am
That’s a good idea in theory as well, but I could see some problems with that. Since virtually every bill at present time has a half-dozen or more other bills/issues attached to it or incorporated within it, all of those bills would then have to be expanded to single issue bills.
This is good for the American people and bad for the American people.
It’s good because it gives us some assurance that Congress isn’t overwhelmed with 1200 page long bills, gives us hope that they are actually reading these bills and voting on them in our best interests (that’s a longshot)
It’s bad because it makes for a slower moving Congress. More and more often many important issues will get pushed to the backburner because they can only vote on one issue at a time. I’m not sure how many times Congress votes per week at present, but say they vote 3 times a week.
Those 3 bills have multiple issues incorporated within due to amendments, attachments, and such. If single issue voting were implemented, 21 issues a week becomes 3 issues a week. Things aren’t done nearly as fast anymore.
So there’s pros and cons. Maybe they could set a page limit on bills, nothing over 75 pages. I think that’s an attainable page amount to have it read in a day or two.
July 8th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
I wonder what these representatives would think if there was a warrant for their arrest when the return to their home state. I have googled and searched everywhere and cannot find a complete copy of the health care bill nor the cap and trade bill. If anyone can link where they can be found, I’d appreciate that very much.

Go to the “Thomas” site of the Library of Congress. It gives complete text of bills (or at least as much as Congress has admitted to and published in their own records! One of the recent and scandalous problems is that too often the Majority Party, which controls “the process”, simply refuses to publish the complete text of the bill before they demand a vote upon it!), and a record of where the bill is in its progress through House and/or Senate.

Rest assured:
One day a mass treason trial will be held, and on that day, every single one of these “lawmakers” will listen excruciatingly close to every word and consider every single nuance and implication.
But it will of course be too late. Come the judgement, they will one and all be forced to listen to every single word of every single condemnation, immediately prior to their condign execution.

This is the exact reason why the citizens of the United States should storm the capitol building and drag everyone of them no-good, corupt bastards our and put a bullet in their heads, and leave their rotting, stinking corpses on the steps for their newly voted for replacements to step over as a reminder to what will happen to them if they fail the people like those who came before them…
July 8th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Pledge my ass it should be a capitol offense (Texas style as we have the death penalty and use it) for it not to be read by each member in full 72 hours prior to any vote regardless of the bill’s purpose. This includes all amendments. I bet there would be far less pork and theft that way.

The baby boomers are THE WORST generation that has ever lived. This is what happens when SPOILED BRATS control things. They just do not have any real grounding. The 55 to 69 crowd are absolutely childlike ignorant. No life experience, etc. They are probably the first generation and maybe last generation to totally be free. Up to them being born, there was nothing but struggle. In one generation, these brats have squandered 5000 years of evolution. But we have to remember that they are the first generation to be exposed to TV, microwave ovens an PC’s, long distance telephone calls, etc. Isn’t it funny?

Don’t need to read the bill the answer is no. Gov’t run health care mean that you will be forced to get rfid chips in your arm. Forced to take drug tests to receive health care. Forced to scan your rfid chip every time you buy alcohol or cigarettes so they can deny treatment later on those grounds.

Then Congress is fundamentally broken, no?
Time to vote in some pro-active politicians?
I think so.

Fundamentally broken, yes; and if by pro-active you mean not anti-active (for virtually all of these dawgs are active alright, but for themselves, not their constituents) … yes.
July 9th, 2009 at 1:41 am
But if they Said; ” oh, and by they way, You will receive the same care you are now about to vote on…”
Well, well, well, That would have made for a big deference

The idea to read or to have heard read the bill is being generated by DownsizeDC.org. They are in a relentless campaign to have someone introduce the legislation called the Read the Bills Act (RTBA). The president of DownsizeDC is Jim Babka. He would make a great interview for Alex Jones.
They also want to have a representative introduce the One Subject at a Time Act. This will keep reps from piggybacking bad or unpopular legislation on the back of good or popular legislation. All legislation will have to stand on its own merit.
The third piece of major legislation is an attempt to end bureaucratic “Legislation without Representation” with the Write the Laws Act. This legislation would require our reps, not some unelected, unaccountable bureaucrat to hash out the details of law.
July 9th, 2009 at 6:30 am
If they had to read them, page for page and understand them. They would pass less bills (which is a good thing, seeing as most are just ways to take something from us) and they would make them smaller.
They fact they won’t read them is just a sad reminder of exactly how chicken necked we have become. We will not even force our pollutions to do their jobs that we put them there to do.
We are pathetic to even allow him to say such garbage. That comment should get his job!

It’s not realistic to expect our congresscritters to be diligent, though it’s a necessity for the integrity of a representative republic, when we haven’t been. I don’t know how far back it goes, but I know that until recently I paid no attention. Who decided, for instance, and when, that it was acceptable to include the phrase “and for other purposes” in the intent paragraph of a piece of legislation? It isn’t, for painfully obvious reasons. When did individual pieces of legislation even become multi-purpose, to the point of confusion and absurdity? I’ve not researched it, but I’ll bet that in the early years of our republic bills were simple and direct.
And so, due diligence must start now. My first question is, where in the Constitution was Congress given the authority to, through treaty and agreement, re-delegate to entities without the United States, powers specifically assigned to it in that very document? The one-world government I always imagined was a representative republic ruled by law, not an authoritarian state ruled by corporate bottom line and the individual lust for power of the elite (and I use that word simply for the sake of communication, for there is nothing elite about them). A fundamental place to begin de-gloablization would be to re-assume powers our Congress delegated elsewhere.

Correction: de-globalization. I don’t know what a gloab is, though it sounds like a distant relative of the shmoo, one of Al Capp’s characters in his (ancient?) comic strip, Li’l Abner.

Isn’t that a REQUIREMENT to be in congress – being unable to read? Heck my 3 year old grandson could decide better on these bills than all these BONEHEADS in congress. The problem is no matter WHO we vote for we get a dumb@$$!!! Except for Dr. Paul and Denis Kucenich the ONLY two people in congress with a BRAIN! The rest of them were labotamized YEARS ago.

Well, I feel good as a “boomer” to know that I am in a group to be eliminated first. Do you have proof of this Old Dog? I am beginning to think a lot of fear mongering is happening in general. Why don’t I just end it myself? Seems like with all this hype we should constantly live in fear. Do you think the rest of the world will wonder what happened to 70+ million of us? I get it there will be a big coverup! I think we must all keep a level head and remain calm. If we don’t they have us turning in all directions and against each other. How can we remain effective for our just cause?

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer D-Md should be immediately arrested, tasered, waterboarded, jailed, given a modern day american show trial and imprisoned for the rest of his life.

Blame the fine folks in Maryland who refuse to vote these bums out. They keep voting any Dem back in no matter what. And Steny isn’t even ‘that’ bad.
And the voting rules in Maryland force you to register as a Dem or a Rep to have any say. They make it impossible to vote in the primaries for an independent or vote for whoever you want.
Steny got job security, that is why he can laugh.
And Maryland is a pay to breed if you are trash state!
