Infowars Under Sophisticated Denial of Service Attack

Earlier this evening, Alex Jones’ flagship website, Infowars.com, came under a concerted denial of service (DoS) attack. The site was down for more than two hours.
The attacks are coming out of Japan. A Whois database search reveals the origin to be the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre in Milton, Australia.
DoS attacks usually consist of concerted efforts to shut down a web server by flooding the computer with requests and consuming its resources so that it is no longer available to users. DoS attacks commonly constitute violations of the laws of individual nations.
Over the last few days, Alex Jones and his websites have covered the so-called swine flu “pandemic” and have built a solid case that the outbreak is part of a larger campaign by the government to frighten the populace and institute martial law as specifically detailed in the Department of Defense’s “Implementation Plan for Pandemic Influenza” and other government documents. Alex Jones is the primary media source calling the government’s bluff on the bogus “pandemic” elevated earlier today to a level 5 under World Health Organization guidelines.
WHO Director-General Margaret Chan declared the phase 5 alert after consulting with flu experts from around the world. “All countries should immediately now activate their pandemic preparedness plans,” Chan told reporters in Geneva. “It really is all of humanity that is under threat in a pandemic.”
“All countries should immediately activate their pandemic preparedness plans,” the WHO declares. “This change to a higher phase of alert is a signal to governments, to ministries of health and other ministries, to the pharmaceutical industry and the business community that certain actions should now be undertaken with increased urgency, and at an accelerated pace.”
The Department of Homeland Security’s National Response Plan follows the same criteria in the case of a flu pandemic or terrorist attack and relies on the military — specifically the Northern Command — to respond to such events.
Alex Jones has featured a number of guests on his nationally syndicated radio show in the last few days that have outlined the government’s plan to use a bogus pandemic as an excuse to impose martial law and engage in forced vaccination. Guests have also noted the eugenics endgame of the ruling elite, determined to reduce world population to 500 million, as stated on the Georgia Guidestones.
A number of U.S. military cyber attacks have originated out of Japan where there is a large military presence.
Over the last few years, the Pentagon has developed an “offensive” cyber capability against “adversaries,” including DoS attacks. In the Pentagon’s “Information Operation Roadmap” document, it is stated that the military “must fight the Net.” The Pentagon believes the internet needs to be dealt with as if it were an enemy “weapons system.”

Usually crackers don’t use their own computers to institute a malicious attack. They break in to some servers with high bandwidth connections and use them to attack the target. I know this because I’ve done it myself when I was a teenager.

If I understand it correctly an IP address is only the logical address of the node ( computer )and can only be identified to a physical address if certain conditions exist ( from a legal piont of view ) as well as a mechanical when the word sophisticated is certain to mean that somebody
was aware of these facts and took the steps required to avoid such action.

This site doesnt require a visual confirmation code to guest post and no moderation pass for guest posts to be printed, These are great news for adbots as it is a free invitation for them.

This is important! If they are attacking Infowars’ Servers it is probably because besides WhatReallyHappened.com these are the only two sites that I’ve seen covering the truth in the so-called “Swine Flu Epidemic.”

Guys i am quite sure that this servers are beeing used from US or other parts in the world … i have knowladge about Dos atacks from 8 – 9 years back …. u can jump (connect) from one server to other and then execute the atack from a 5th or 6th server … who was vurnerable to a security flow and was explointed(hacked) … i am concerned becouse i know about this agenda from a long time … i am a us resindent but not a citizen … and i am thinking to go back to Europe if this turn out to be total chaos. Ping attacks are very old-school, and would never result in sustained 100Mbit transfer levels.
To achieve that kind of transfer level, there must have been a file of some sort on Alexs’ website which was being sent out to these alleged attacking IPs. This sounds more like someone posting a username/password on a Japanese forum of some sort, which then resulted in a flood of requests from people trying to download videos.

I Whoised the IP’s that are listed, they are registered in Japan, but I couldn’t trace route them since the last few routers in the line refuse traceroute requests, the suspect IP’s also refuse pings. Whoever it is they’ve got their network locked down tight. It might be a big proxy farm built just for this sort of thing.

OCN stands for Open Computing Network, the Japanese sites look like spam or nameplaceholder sites with a search function. NSA would do real DoS, not some amateur stuff for 2 hours, most likely. I just wanted to add a penny for discussion.
First of all, DoS against infowars is strange. Someone has to hate this site…
ususally DoS are used against mainstream corporate money making firms etc.. but, I may be wrong. I am not an expert. I have only cursory knowledge of them.
However, what I do know is this: it is possible to hijack computers in other countries to use as zombies to attack a particular site. Just because IP addresses are from Japan, this by no means sayas that hacker(s) sit on their butts there.
They, can be in any country, but hajack the comp systems for the attack.
As the matter of fact those IP could be from some completely innocent people, whose machines were hacked.
So, my point is simply this: those IP addresses may or may not be the addresses from hackers.
I know this is not comforting news, but this is truth.
I just felt like sharing this with you…

Why I say that?
Because I worked for a big EU entertainment library once. They averaged a 1.5 million dollar per month turn over. Then the attacks started. It was relentless. With no way that even the expensive IT co’s hired could help against it.
After a few days. The Russian mafia guys contacted us. Pay $150,000 per month or we take you down again, they said. They gave a demo to show it was really them doing it. Then.. after the police and everyone else could do NOTHING to help us, my boss started paying the Russians (who many of them were like 15 years old involved in the actual attack side, adults were handling them though). There was NO other choice , so we had to pay or be out of business. See, that’s a sustained attack!. If you got a 2 hours, and no actual contact by someone giving you the what’sup, I dunno what that means for you guys. Believe me, if they can attack you for 2 hours, they can just let their zombies keep attacking you. Its just a mouse click for em, THAT simple for ‘em.

DOS attack by DoD IP’s ??? … Probably cracked DoD users computer made to look like it was attacking you. You can stop these or your ISP can stop these by taking the proper steps.
How do you know it was a DOS attack? What were the symptoms other than the website being ‘down’?
There are several step you can take and plenty of info on HOW on the internet … Firewalls and IDS would be step one. Step two would be to impliment a ‘SNORT’ type sensor also.
And really important, is that MOST DOS attacks come from ‘inside’ your network… not to say one of your employee’s is corupt, but there are very good chances one or your protected network machines has been comprimised.
If you had a Linux based computer there are some free networking tools that could get you the MAC info and other ‘traceable’ info that could help you find the attackers point of internet injection.
At least you are back on-line again so that we can get a full days worth of preaching.

If the government wanted to shut this site down, it would do so. End of story. Some flimsy attempt at a DoS sounds like wishful thinking. The logic jump required to go from a Japanese IP to a US military attack is wider than the Grand Canyon. If these IPs were from Afghanistan, Philipines, Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, a Asian -stan country, Poland, or any other number of countries the US has a known or secret military facility in, then this site could make the same claim that it MIGHT be a US government operation because the US HAPPENS to have a base there. I mean, it’d be more plausible to go with the claim that since it was from Australia (based on the Whois result) that it was a US government op. because that is where they supposedly route all US calls for screening in their illegal wiretapping scheme… Careful, the site may change the story to say “because it’s from Australia” now!

I can’t believe I wasted my time reading this… If you hack a server you gain access to it and can packet with it.. just because they were japan domains doesn’t mean the attack was from someone from japan.. japan servers are usually less secure than others.. and from the looks of those boxes they were just backed door and not even secured.. thats a weak attempt of a DoS and i highly doubt that it was pointed at this website directly… weak story

I truly belive in the infowars AJ cause for sure. One thing I fear and don’t attack me for thinking for a minute what if the gov’t has so much communications monitoring technology that they are using AJ and infowars to flag the most disobediant citizens for immediate round up when s--- breaks. what if all or most of the info on here is total bs and AJ is an operative and is involved in the exposure of “disobediant citizenry” and is purposly misinforming to lead us off the right track or entertain us for 4 hours a day we should be using to prepare. Have any of you thought this may be just your average bot that gathers info.
2 hour attack, wow, thats nothing.
I have run websites and forums in the past that suddenly jump up 300-400% activity and new accounts been made.
This site doesnt require a visual confirmation code to guest post and no moderation pass for guest posts to be printed, These are great news for adbots as it is a free invitation for them.
Once again though a simple thing that happens to all websites has been twisted in Alex’s paranoia world into a conspiracy.
Listen, If ‘they’ (whoever you want they to be) wanted this and prisonplanet down there is a simple way of doing so, its called blocking and it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Also if for some stupid reason they wanted to do some dancing around using pointless methods then I can guarantee you that if it was a government conspiracy they can afford the odd proxy to make it look like 1 IP comes from Sweden. 1 comes from Australia, another comes from The north pole and so on.
It looks like spambots, it smells like spam bots and has all the right signatures of spambots, get over it, it happens, no little group of men in suits and dark glasses wasting there time temporarily causing a nuisance that achieves nothing.
I do NOT work for any government nor any company, in fact I am unemployed and have nothing to gain, I just think the excitement over such a nonsence thing is rediculous and overblown.

Hello, I have a question. I don’t know if I believe everything on this site, or any at all until I find out for myself. I think we can all agree that is what a truly intellgent person does. I do find that this website sparks my mind into thinking about things in much more perspectives and things about things a lot more so I enjoy it.
My question to everyone is, lets say they do shut down this website and the others like it, where do we go next? I think that if there is a NWO that we need to keep comminutcating, and honestly I doubt some of you here would know where to start looking after this. My question to Alex, and you all is where do whats our back up plan. Just like any “behind the scenes” governemtn bodies would, we need back ups as well. If you put all your eggs in one basket, what happens if that basket is stolen?
You have a long time until you have that many eggs again, so my question to all you is what is our back up plan?
