Insane Cop Arrests ABC News Reporter For Filming Traffic Accident

It’s becoming a disturbingly familiar scene in America – aggressive, overbearing and mentally unstable cops who think that it is an arrestable offense not to obey their every order – harassing citizens who have done absolutely nothing wrong.
The latest example comes from El Paso, Texas, where a local ABC news reporter and his cameraman were arrested simply for something they routinely do every day as part of their job – filming traffic incidents.
The reporters, Darren Hunt and photojournalist Ric DuPont, were standing behind a barrier well away from the car wreck but were quickly approached by the cop – Sgt. Ramirez – who immediately shouted that they had to leave.
As the video shows, despite the fact that the reporters start to back away towards their truck, the cop runs after them after one of them dares to speak – reminding the officer that America is supposed to be a free country with freedom of the press and that the cameraman “can shoot if he wants to”.
The cop then grabs Hunt by his pants and threatens to arrest him, shouting, “I gave you an order,” with the reporter protesting, “I didn’t do anything.”
Presumably, the cop thinks that it is illegal and therefore an arrestable offense not to follow any order given by a police officer – or even worse – because the reporters were actually following his order - the cop thinks its an arrestable offense merely to verbally disagree with a police officer.
Despite the reporter not resisting or attempting to return to the scene of the wreck, the cop tries to slap the cuffs on anyway. “I’m not doing anything, I’m just trying to leave sir,” states Hunt as the cop wildly shrieks behind him and pulls his arms behind his back.
The officer then pushes Hunt up against the fence and turns to grab DuPont’s camera, before he too is arrested. With the two reporters now out of view, more insane shrieking can be heard from the cop.

Upon arrival at the police station, the reporters were released within minutes – proving that they had done absolutely nothing worthy of being arrested in the first place. Sgt. Ramirez has been placed on leave pending an investigation.
Some have speculated that the presence of military soldiers at the scene of the car wreck, which is captured on film near the end of the clip, was something that the authorities did not want to be documented on camera.
As we have previously warned, thousands of active duty military personnel are being brought back from Iraq and Afghanistan to conduct “homeland patrols” under Northcom. The Army Times reported that their duties would include training to “use jaws of life to extract a person from a mangled vehicle,” as well as ” civil unrest and crowd control.”
We have been ringing the alarm bell for years about the integration of the military into law enforcement and have consistently warned that the idea of troops on the streets as a matter of routine will be incrementally introduced to Americans by means of soldiers being used in traffic accidents. This would engender the idea that the troops are here to “help” in times of need.
However, the troops may have just been traveling to or from their army base and happened to come across the accident and offer assistance, which is perfectly plausible.
The major thing to take away from watching this video is the insane behavior of the cop and his belief that citizens must comply with his every order or face arrest, despite them having done nothing wrong whatsoever.
These scenes are becoming commonplace in America. Something has gone seriously wrong somewhere along the line with police training, a fact highlighted by the recent MIAC and Homeland Security reports, which revealed that police are being trained that American citizens who are merely knowledgeable about their rights under the U.S. constitution are considered a threat and potential terrorists.

Good “call wake up americans”. I actually like a traditional recurve bow a little better, they’re even quieter than a crossbow (you don’t get that loud thwack sound) and much faster to reload. I have a crossbow, a recurve bow, and a 44 mag. If they confiscate the 44, they will look down to see an arrow coming through their chest before they reach the front door. And for those with little resources, don’t overlook a slingshot, you can kill with one of those and you can buy an excellent one for under $25. The people will win by stealth if necessary.

The fucking cop didn’t have any control over the situation. As a result, he became paranoid and felt threatened by the whole scene. He reacted out of fear and confusion and struck out at whoever posed the least threat. He immediately went into “military mode” and went after the newsmen. This cop is a perfect example of a mad dog, brainwashed, paranoid robot. His “training”, via microwave transmissions, forces him to disregard the Constitution and our civil rights. Brain damaged cops like this should be removed from the police force before they go crazy and start killing people for just being in the vicinity. He should have to undergo psychiatric evaluation and if he is found to be unstable, then he should be commited to an institution where he can be sedated with 1000mg of thorazine every day.

Is it true that if you know an arrest is unlawful and the officer threatens you with deadly force, they you are permitted to use lethal force in self-defense? If thug puts cuffs on you for an unlawful arrest, then what else is the thug going to do that is unlawful once you can longer defend yourself? That sounds like a potentially life threatening circumstance one is entitled to defend against. Get it? No false police report, too.

As far as the law is concerned, the REAL law, you are allowed to use deadly force in defense of your life against ANYONE. The fact that it is a cop does not make a difference. If you are being unlawfully detained and begin to feel that your life is threatened to a degree that a REASONABLE PERSON would believe the same – yes, you are allowed to defend yourself.
Now, good luck trying to prove that you shot that cop in self defense.

before you go advocating resistance you need to know that most states have laws that make it a crime to “fail to obey an officer”…in my state its under Disorderly Conduct” and cops use it every day…its an excuse to arrest you….if they tell you to leave,or move on,or to be quiet you MUST obey or go to jail….what I see is this cop using that,with the excuse that the interviews are a traffic hazard….before you start a resistance movement you need to decide where you will draw the line….pretty soon a simple arrest can mean the camps….think about it….Peace…Watch out for Stobor

I was diverted to the Public defender and he than sent me to talk to the prosecutor. I finally had to submit my driver’s school proof, but could had done it on the constitution alone when dropped. It is clear that the officer did not even ask and the fact that his microphone with the big ABC logo on it and I am sure the camera had one as well might have clued the officer it that they were reporters.
If the reporters were blocking traffic then the officer could have asked them to move and since there were other cars pulled in front and behind of the reporter’s truck and who were not involved in reporting or the incident themselves it seemed the officer targeted the reporters.
This is another case of cop’s gone wild and unlawful detainment.

years back thats exactly what a woman did here in northern ca when a cop pulled her over for no apparent reason she could see and took it as her life was in danger she refused to get out of her car and ended up shooting the cop but you sure as hell didn’t hear about it on the news being it was kept quiet and settled out of court. her dad just happened to be a prominent lawyer in town. prior to this incident that same cop issued a skateboarding citation against a teenage boy whose dad just happened to be an excop who was able to prove that same cop went back and put up a no skateboarding sign after the fact. he beat him to the punch by going back to that very spot upon his son telling him what happened and took pictures dated and all.

But next time you run into a situation like this, I would back off immediately without antagonizing the cop, and call for a chopper. You never found out what they were really all about…what they didn’t want you to know! All they wanted was to get you out of there, away from the area, so you could not see what was going on, no video, no evidence. And the cop – Sgt. Ramirez – did just that! There’s not going to be a real investigation of the cop its all a snow job. He was probably given orders; not to let any news people get wind of what was going on, it’s call (deniable plausibility).

I was surprised to see something like this where I live. A few days ago I was at a kite festival, 1000s of people were there, and guess who was being used as SECURITY? The US Military, Virginia Defense Force.
They were directing traffic and patrolling the area as security. The US Military.
It was in Salem/Roanoke VA.

Someone wrote that the reporters did not present their papers to the police officer in a timely fashion.
First of all, the video does not show the officer requesting any papers.
Second, there is absolutely no legal requirement for the reporters to show any papers when they are attempting to film the scene of a traffic accident in broad daylight. In fact, there is no legal standing for the police officer to make such a demand.
That cop should be fired. The way he acted was unprofessional and inexcusable.

Title 41 Section 1983 is a very powerful weapon to use in these situations.
If more people filed them this sort of thing would stop pretty quickly, mainly becuase it is personal and federal, so state tort limitations do not apply, and the departments never pay for them a since it personal, all the legal expenses is on the officer directly.
Plus it’s civil so the rules of evidence are a bit easier.

Porky I usually have respect for what you have to say as I have seen many of your posts here, but if you watch the video the reporter clearly states that he was interviewing people about the “military heroes” that pulled the semi driver out of the vehicle, they were not brought by police but simply were “at the right place at the right time”(I did see another post about maybe the truck had something in it that shouldn’t be filmed and perhaps the military was following said truck but I don’t know that so I just let it sit in my head)
I do understand about paparazzis and looky-loos but these were reporters behind a barricade interviewing witnesses.

I’m not any more of a fan of the Media than you; however, the media being vile by promoting ratings with personal tragedy scares me FAR less than Police learning that their own personal vendettas can be solved through official execution of force.
Just saying – I can deal with a slimeball media but when I have to start shedding blood to defend against the footsoldiers of tyranny, it’s a much more serious proposition.

The first thing that occurred to me while watching the video is this:
We have a mainstream media crew that just “happen” to be at the scene of an overturned rig where soldiers just “happen” to be “heroically” assisting in the rescue efforts while an overzealous enforcer just “happens” to get belligerent against the reporter for no apparent reason and then just “happens” to be released within minutes of arriving at the jailhouse. And then he just “happens” to make it to the studio in time to give his “side” of the story, calling the soldiers heroes and displaying the cuff marks on his wrist while claiming it was not really a big deal because the same fascist bastards that violated his civil rights told him that it was a common occurrence when people get handcuffed.
Excuse me, but this totally stinks of media complicity in a psy-op to further rile up the public against theComply Or Perish community.

This is what happens when you teach law enforcement they are above the law.
I am more worried about what happens when you put a soldier on the streets and tell him he is above the law too.
Obviously the police and border patrol need more training in being polite and dealing with the public, than training sessions on how to interrogate and harass citizens at checkpoints or their homes.
It is their training that causes this behavior.
They are no longer taught they serve the people.

Exactly right. The big picture here is that cops are being trained that having a camera is an arrestable offense, questioning a cop’s “orders” (wrap your mind around that) is an arrestable offense, exercising your constitutional rights and *especially* vocalizing those rights is grounds for arrest, interrogation and terrorism charges, being anything but a compliant little pussy is grounds for being arrested, detained and harassed, not to mention beaten and tased.
Just wait a little while, when these cops won’t be “placed on leave pending an investigation,” but will be paid for their services, and those arrested will be “disappeared.” All right there, black and white, in Patriot Act II (Victory Act) and Defense Authorization Act.

Does anyone else find it strange that when the cop wrestles the camera away, it sits down perfectly so that it’s pointed right at the accident scene, and we can see the troop run in and assist the emergency workers? Firstly, I don’t find it odd. If I reach up and across to the camera on someone’s shoulder, it would be a natural motion to simply bring it down to the ground pointing the same direction.
Now, that said, I do see where you’re coming from. However, the only people that will affect are the same people who believe any bullshit they’re getting anyway. They need the cops as much as they need the soldiers though so swaying public opinion one way or the other, I think, is counter-productive.

1.- to be a police officer you need to be a citizen, so Mexican descendant police officers will be like in NY Italian descendant police officers. Remember that happened in El Paso. As you move around the country, you see policeman reflecting ethnicity of the area.

2.- you can see in YouTube other related videos where police brutality is shown and where the policeman appear not to be Mexican descendants.
So my conclusion is: this is what happens when you give a dumb-ass person (regardless of ethnicity) the authority to carry a gun, without proper preparation on what is the law he supposed to apply and not to make laws as his day goes by.

Oh yah. Apparently where I live it’s OK for cops to beat-up highschool girls. While the cops yes I did say cops there was more than one beating on this little girl, there highschool friends (boys) tried to protect them all on film. Well there was something like ten cops in a fist fight with these highschool kids.The highschool protested this beating by there local cops (police station is right beside the highschool). Later the kids marched to cityhall (no adults helped them). The reporter asked members of the city hall what they think of this and there only comment was these kids have filthy mouths. 12 kids where later arrested for coming to the aid of the little girl who was beaten all on film in London,Ont.

There has not been any but it is crazy as hell seeing them run through peoples front yards on a hillside and head to the woods with baggies and then come back out with nothing. They will be back in the summer. I have them on camera circling over our farm in helicopters because of our greenhouses and all the acres planted with vegetables and crops. Our livestock was running all over, as the feds are not walking softly, they are loud and bossy.
We have no trespassing signs up everywhere but they don’t care, they will tear down the clothesline with sheets hanging up and everything to go through your property if they want to.

We are facing a Catch22 with this type of phenomenon. On the one hand, we need the people and the police not to be at odds with one another – because this is the work of the elite – to divide and conquer.
On the other hand, we must recognize that there are some corrupt thugs posing as servants of the people, thinking that because they have a uniform – they need not obey the Constitution. Some, perhaps most, don’t know the principles behind the Bill of Rights or the Constitution – trained to distrust us and treat us as guilty first.
So, what can we do? Should we call town meetings and invite the police — encouraging them to stop violated their oath?
I think Alex’s team should sponsor the making of an updated police state film where good police are “hosting it” like Jack McLamb – so that clips like this in the film won’t be playing into the elite’s hands to polarize us.
Many of you may know of the national court case against two brothers who sued the police department and won. Then they began harassing these brothers until one day one policeman and a ride along went to their property with guns drawn. A gunfight ensued and both occupants of the police car were killed.
Now our area police are being sued by a man whose son they beat up severely.
And on more than one occasion, my young son has had his 4th amendment rights violated by police who demanded he get home or he would ‘throw him in juvee’ — and later another officer searched his pockets for drugs as my son was walking down the main street of our small town.
Boy, was I angry! Everything must be resolved peacefully, or else we lose. Pray for true peace – not fake peace.

It is incorrect to state that only East Germany or only during communism were papers required of indivdual German Citizens. During the days of the Third Reich all persons were required to have their papers on them at all times and to produce them when requested by the local constabulary, the Gestapo or the Waffen SS.
Failure to comply would almost certainly lead to immediate arrest, since firearms had already been confiscated from the general public there was in general no real fear of someone putting up to much resistance. This is why the second amendment to the US Constitution is so important, once the Government confiscates you weapons resistance is almost futile.

I called Fort Bliss to find out what the military was doing there. He explained that Fort Bliss is in the middle of the city and the soldiers often use that road on and off duty. He wasn’t sure why they were there be it coincidence or by order but he seemed to think the soldier seen in the video was a German Airborne soldier. He explained that there is a German Airborne unit stationed at Fort Bliss and his opinion was the soldiers camo appeared to be German. The camo is certainly not the Army ACU, it kinda looked like Marine MARPAT but I don’t know if there are even any Marines in El Paso.

That cop should have been arrested, I would have took my chance and headbutted the cop for unlawful arrest. I would have won my case as it is on video for proof that a civilian was attacked by a corrupt cop.
There is a chance that the cop was a victim of MK-Ultra, or even apart of a NWO training program, where they are trained to be aggressive against the public. It is just like a soldier, before they return to their home country from a warzone, they go to an island to “normalize”.

Lemme tell you all what is probably going to happen. The reporter and cameraman obviously have a case. The police are well aware of this. The police will contact the station owners and cut a deal for “preferred access” or whatever if the station can “talk” to the reporter. The station owners will call the reporter in and give him the old “yes, technically you’re right” speech and so on and so forth. The ultimate outcome?? The station owners get something sweet out of the deal, the police and/or the sergeant don’t get sued and continue on their merry way. The reporter, being nobody, will get screwed once again and you the public will quickly forget. Same old story, business as usual.

I suggest that individuals that find themselves in this kind of situation do a few things:
1) Educate yourself and read up on your rights! (Especially your “Bill of Rights”).
2) When arrested, get as much evidence as possible (such as the film we all witnessed) PLUS any eyewitnesses. The film was the reason why the police officer kncoked the camera out of the other man’s hands because he knows what it represents.
3) Go quietly to the holding station, and upon arrival immediately call your attroney (if you don’t have one – find one TODAY that won’t put up with this kind of overbearing authoritarian fascist bullshit).
4) File suit against the municipality, the county or the state in which the said officer is employed and file a civil suit as well against the police officer personally for violation of your U.S. Constitutionally granted rights.
5) If more and more of the citizenry would do these things and begin to fight back instead of cow-towing to these lunatics then perhaps these abuses by the jackboots would subside as they are ever on the increase these days!
You may enjoy a victory in court, or you may be seeing what corruption has seaped into the justice system transforming our Republic into the kind of kangaroo-style jurisprudence we may be experiencing, but at least you will have done your part and fought back against the growing tyrrany.

I still struggle from abroad to get my rights after I was arrested in the USA with my valid passport and valid visa and than deported out from USA… There is living a part of my family, many friends, I never had a trouble with the law by visiting USA many many times before… I spent more than 3 weeks in the jail of CCA… nice experience but never more back to this country… We have got enough experience with police state in the past in central Europe… we know how does it work… USA is on the way to arogant military and police state…. We loved this country but it’s over…We don’t like it anymore…

My first thought was that that cop should be fired. The way he acted was horrendously unprofessional.
On second thought, though… A suspension without pay, and then some retraining. He might be a great cop in other situations, once he gets his attitude adjusted.
Someone opined that the cop was trying to restore the flow of traffic, but that’s nonsense. The video clearly shows that there was very little traffic on that road, and that the news crew’s truck was not blocking traffic. Nice try, but no…

The guy in army fatigues didn’t have on any battle rattle. Sounds like someone came across an accident. Felt comfortable enough in his training to assist until official arrived and helped. The first thing that occurred to me while watching the video is this:
We have a mainstream media crew that just “happen” to be at the scene of an overturned rig where soldiers just “happen” to be “heroically” assisting in the rescue efforts while an overzealous enforcer just “happens” to get belligerent against the reporter for no apparent reason and then just “happens” to be released within minutes of arriving at the jailhouse. And then he just “happens” to make it to the studio in time to give his “side” of the story, calling the soldiers heroes and displaying the cuff marks on his wrist while claiming it was not really a big deal because the same fascist bastards that violated his civil rights told him that it was a common occurrence when people get handcuffed.
Excuse me, but this totally stinks of media complicity in a psy-op to further rile up the public against the Comply Or Perish community.
Open your eyes people…this very well could have been staged to drive the wedge further….

Even the Apostle Paul exercised his Roman Citizenship in the book of Acts 16:35-40. Paul and Silas had been unjustly beaten(with out a trial), which was against Roman Law. Paul demanded that the Magistrates who violated the law, come and release both Paul and Silas in the light of day. This was a clear cut case of “assault with the intent to do great bodily harm”. The citizen had the right to defend himself INCLUDING the use of deadly force.
The reporter was leaving and no threat to the officer. A finger in the eye, a palm thrusting the nasal cartilage into the brain cavity or a blow to the larynx…..that would stop or slow the attacked down in relatively short order.
I would rather be “judged by 12 then carried by 6″. It was all on camera.

The people that were stopped were parked on the median area of the opposite lane. In the interest of public safety, they should not be parked there and I’m sure that area is for break-downs only. Those people parked there were contributing to the “rubber necking”, which can also cause collisions. So the officer was right to have people clear THAT area, but his approach and tactics were downright awful. In order to maintain control, you have to be in control and in my opinion; he did not appear to be.
Some people are just so anti-establishment, anti-law and order, that they do themselves and movements against the abuse of power a great disservice when they attack everything with a badge or authority. You simply can’t do whatever you want to do and say “I’m a patriot” and it makes it all good. When you do that, you actual present yourself as a nut and then discredit the truly illegitimate cases of abuse of power.
If this crew was parked on the shoulder, not median, and this took place, I would say that is a clear cut example of police exceeding their power.

Now if that isn’t enough to get you to do something then this recent incident surely won’t as it isn’t quite as severe as watching a cop shoot a guy in the back at a train station or tasering a priest to death. Soon it will be forgotten and back to grazing on your iphones and texting anybody that will pay attention to you while watching society corrupting, mind melting shows like “Family Guy” or “the Simpsons” or “Married with Children” that teach that disrespecting your Father is okay while portraying the Father as a complete imbescile; Or “parental control” on MTV which promotes thuggish behavior towards the boyfriends or girlfriends parents, or watching Britney Spears perform mach sexual acts in her videos or watching Janet jackson show the whole world her nasty nipple on national t.v. or watching grown men crash into eachother for the purpose of hurting them just to get a ball across an “end zone” or watching steroid junkies crash chairs, trash cans and anything else they can think of over eachothers heads while hordes of uncivilized half wits scream and cheer this abhorrent behavior. Trust me…this country is over. They have too many distractions to keep you at bay. I know most of you mean well, but so does a proctologist…doesn’t mean i want him jamming his finger up my ass.
It’s too late for resistance, you should’ve done that a long time ago. You just need to learn how to play the game of life just like you learned how to use your iphone and you should be fine. I’m a Law Enforcement Officer in El Paso, trust me, the officer was not trying to cover anything up for the military. They’re frequently on the road here as Fort Bliss is the military base in El Paso. This Officer was just extremely overly zealous in the performance of his duties, to the point to where he possibly violated the reporter’s civil rights.
A lot of officers feel this officer was in the wrong for what he did. A lot of high ranking Officers feel he should be fired for his actions. There is no big conspiracy here, just a dumb cop.
