BAGHDAD—Iraqi Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani paraded in front of reporters on Thursday 39 suspected members of the Islamic State of Iraq, an al Qaeda-linked terror group responsible for some of the bloodiest attacks in the country.
Mr. Bolani said the men, who were handcuffed and dressed in orange jumpsuits, should be hanged.
He also said most of the suspects were released from American-run prisons in Iraq as part of a national amnesty program before rejoining the terror organization.
There was no comment by the U.S. military.
