Iraq regulates shops selling police, army uniforms

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Iraq said on Tuesday it would regulate clothing shops that sell army and police uniforms, which are sometimes used by criminals and insurgents as a disguise.
[efoods]The Interior Ministry said tailor shops that supply uniforms will have to be licensed and obtain security clearance from government agencies.
Security uniforms are readily available in Iraq and frequently used to commit crimes. In one recent case, gunmen wearing army uniforms stormed a house in a small town just north of Baghdad and killed a family of six in late November.
Nine days earlier, attackers wearing uniforms killed 12 members of the same family in a village west of Baghdad.
