Is White House Blocking Search for Bin Laden?

The Pentagon has drafted a secret plan that would send U.S. special forces into the wild tribal regions of Pakistan to capture or kill Osama bin Laden and his top lieutenants, but the White House has balked at giving the mission a green light, The New York Times reported today.
The Bush administration, which has seven months left in its term, gave the go-ahead for the military to draw up the plan to take the war on terror across the Afghan border and into the mountains of Pakistan where bin Laden is believed to be hiding, according to the newspaper.
Intelligence reports have concluded that bin Laden has re-established a network of new training camps, and the number of recruits in those camps has risen to as many as 2,000 in recent months from 200 earlier this year.
Although the special forces attack plan was devised six months ago, infighting among U.S. intelligence agencies and among White House offices have blocked it from being implemented, the Times reported.

The Bush team would like to leave office next January having put bin Laden, the man behind the Sept. 11 attacks, behind bars or in his grave.
But sending U.S. forces into Pakistan would be controversial and risky. The rugged mountain area is populated by bin Laden sympathizers, hurting the chances that such a raid could succeed. It would also trigger a diplomatic outcry from the Pakistani government.
The United States has conducted a series of aerial drone attacks on Taliban and al Qaeda leaders in Pakistan, killing several key Qaeda figures and narrowly missing bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman Zawahiri, in one strike. But an attack earlier this month killed several Pakistani border guards instead and has made Pakistan less willing to allow U.S. strikes on its territory.
The Taliban of Pakistan, who are close al Qaeda allies, have grown alarmingly stronger in Pakistan’s lawless border areas and threatened the regional capital of Peshawar last week.
Pakistan’s new coalition government, which has made a series of truces with the militants in recent months, was forced over the weekend to launch an offensive to push the militants back from the outskirts of Peshawar.
Pakistan called the operation a success, even though none of the heavily armed militants in the area were reported killed.
Pakistan announced Sunday that Bush had invited Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to Washington next month. High on that visit’s agenda is the question of whether Pakistan can restrain the Taliban by itself or whether the United States could decide to take action in the tribal areas.
A separate report said the Bush administration has also begun a “major escalation of covert operations against Iran … to destabilize the country’s religious leadership.”
The charge was made by veteran journalist Seymour Hersh in the current issue of The New Yorker magazine.
Hersh claims that elite American commando units are operating inside Iran and that Congress has authorized $400 million for the covert operations.
The article claimed that U.S. special forces have been conducting clandestine operations against Iran since last year and have seized members of the Iran commando force al Quds and taken them to Iraq for questioning.
The U.S. ambassador in Iraq Ryan Crocker denied the report.
“I’ll tell you flatly that U.S. forces are not operating across the Iraqi border into Iran, in the south or anywhere else,” he said in an interview from Baghdad Sunday.

Bin Laden is dead, or sitting up some place posh. Do you really think this man that needs dialysis at least 3 times per week is cave hopping, or hanging out in some wilderness training camp? You miss dialysis once you feel very ill, you miss dialysis twice and you may very well need to be carried around. Perhaps he got a kidney transplant, but I doubt it. 5:1 says hes dead.

If Bin Ladin is alive he can be captured. Lets not forget he has a 25 million dollar bounty on his head. That said, chances are he’s been dead for quite some time. This eliminates any possibility of him denouncing the 911 attacks. And as long as he is presumed the operational leader of al qaeda, it gives the U.S military any excuse to drop a bomb whenever and wherever they feel like it.

Osama bin laden is no longer a threat to the US. He is a coward hiding in some cave in the mountains of pakistan / afghanistan border.
The problem for the U.S is the unstable region and the people who have become homeless, the kids that have lost their parents, fathers thats have lost their kids,…. caused directly or indirectly by the U.S’ so called “war on terror”.
These kids, people,… those are the next generation terrorists… their threat to the US is bigger than some caveman who cant show his face because anybody would kill him for 25mil$ and the hate the people have against this man for being the cause of the death of soo many of their fellow afghanis / iraqi’s

About 2-3 years ago my American Government teacher said her friend, who was over in the Middle East and was a trained sniper, said that he had spotted Osama bin Laden, he had his gun aimed at him and everything. But his commander, I guess, told him don’t shoot.
So I’m guessing this is all just a façade. What do you think? Do you believe my former teacher’s story?

I’ve heard that whenever our forces get close to capturing bin laden, command gives an order to back off. Pat Tilman was making alot of noise about it when he was there, and then he was killed by friendly fire.

A message of reassurance, to all fellow “Defenders of Freedom” throughout the World.
Due to recent concerns expressed by fellow “Freedom Fighters”, in regards to us Aussies rolling over and giving up our guns to the Government (Puppet Show), and therefore not being able to contribute to the coming conflict with the Globalist NWO. I feel that an explanation is warranted.

These diggers (that had fought, and the many that had died, for “our freedom”) knew this whole Globalist shit would hit the fan someday, and before this would eventuate, future generations would be manipulated into giving up their guns “in the belief it would make for a safer society”. Now these diggers knew that Aussies without guns “would merely be “sheep” set for slaughter”. So an initial plan was formulated by three diggers that lived in the Australian outback. These three diggers knew that there was something that “would” counter the loss of firearms……..Kangaroos!!!. The Australian outback had hundreds of thousands of them, these diggers knew from previous encounters, that there was not a meaner, savager or more dirty fighting creature on the face of the earth than the Roo’.

The first time that i heard the word defiant i was 8 years old, my old man told me to trim his toe nails, yuk i thought, no way, so i told him in no uncerain terms, what he could do with his carniverous, jam factory in the making, 10mm thick, stinky yellow toenails (big mistake), he said “right you DEFIANT little bastard” and proceeded to drop kick me into the neighbours backyard!!!
I still didn’t trim his toenails from then on, i got to see all the neighbours backyards though!!!
So yes Ausgirl, you are right, us Aussies are fairly defiant, and stubbornly so, rather randy as well.

Anyone that wishes to protest peacefully, should certainly do so, as is their right.
Anyone “incarcerated” or “enslaved” in the future, “as a result of continued peaceful protest” should not complain about their situation. It would be best to meekly bow before the “Master” with downcast eyes.

Anyone “seriously injured” or “killed” in the future, “as a result of their belief in freedom” should take comfort in the knowledge, that their actions and belief, are as old as mankind itself.
