Israel asked US for green light to bomb nuclear sites in Iran

Israel gave serious thought this spring to launching a military strike on Iran’s nuclear sites but was told by President George W Bush that he would not support it and did not expect to revise that view for the rest of his presidency, senior European diplomatic sources have told the Guardian.
The then prime minister, Ehud Olmert, used the occasion of Bush’s trip to Israel for the 60th anniversary of the state’s founding to raise the issue in a one-on-one meeting on May 14, the sources said. “He took it [the refusal of a US green light] as where they were at the moment, and that the US position was unlikely to change as long as Bush was in office”, they added.
The sources work for a European head of government who met the Israeli leader some time after the Bush visit. Their talks were so sensitive that no note-takers attended, but the European leader subsequently divulged to his officials the highly sensitive contents of what Olmert had told him of Bush’s position.
Bush’s decision to refuse to offer any support for a strike on Iran appeared to be based on two factors, the sources said. One was US concern over Iran’s likely retaliation, which would probably include a wave of attacks on US military and other personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as on shipping in the Persian Gulf.

Who leaked this information if no one was allowed at the meeting? This is like reporting from Kennedy’s convertible “I’m going public with UFOs” just before he was shot, and not giving any sources.

there still are some ignorant people on here though, the people on here who say ‘they can’t look at Jews now’ are the same type of fear mongers who distribute this crap. In every religion there is a set of extremists that would forcibly impose their wills and doctrines on people, especially in the Abrahamic faiths. But these never, ever constitute the majority, mainly because the three share the same base and have very much in common.
As a Jew (by conversion, formally a Christian) its very important to point out how you can either reverse the hate and become a racist in the opposite direction, or you can ask some one who knows, and who understands the ins and outs of a topic. What you should all do is take a moment and research the difference between Judaism and Zionism, and you will learn rather quick that they are two very different things. Zionism started as a secular movement during the 1890s and was rejected by most all orthodox Jewish thought immediately, it even came to the point were the Jews protested the founding of the state of Israel after WW2, which many still do today. So go do the research behind it, and you’ll find that once again you’re being lied to, and that many still reject Israel and its crimes (Jew against the Occupation, and Rabbi’s for Human Rights are two good examples)

So let me understand you Zach. You read the Talmud and think that Jews accept you as a human being? Please, let me say that there are good Jewish men and women with great character but for the most part, Jews hate the goyim. They are anti-goyites and thing of us as dogs or worse yet.
