America is turning into a culture that worships death. And people are so desensitized to it that they are losing all compassion and respect for humanity, says radio host Alex Jones.

Jones’ comments came during Friday’s broadcast, after Joel Stein of Time Magazine made jokes about aborted fetuses on another radio program. Hosts of the Dudley and Bob Morning Show on KLBJ 97.3 radio in Austin asked Stein about the strangest things he has seen during the national political conventions.

“The conservative protesters, all they do is read the bible…all they do is read scripture and have giant, giant pictures of dead fetuses,” Stein replied.

He added, “I’ve seen so many bloody fetuses that I can literally tell good looking fetuses from ugly fetuses.”

Stein went on to suggest a beauty contest could be held for dead fetuses.

Jones sounded shaken by the remarks that, as he put it, make fun of unborn children who will ‘never have the opportunity to chase butterflies or hear mommy and daddy say they love them.’

Infowars.com writer Paul Joseph Watson reported that Stein’s remarks were made Sept. 6 on the Dudley and Bob Morning Show at about 31 minutes into the second hour.

Stein stands to set off a firestorm with conservative Christians who view abortion as one of the most critical issues in society.

The political conventions have spurred other jokes about abortion, Watson reported.

Actress Jenny Mollen, who brags on her blog about purchasing prostitutes with her husband in Las Vegas, tweeted a joke about abortions on Sept. 4. She was making a play on the acronym DNC, which can refer to the Democratic National Convention as well as a “dilation and curettage,” a gynecological procedure sometimes used after abortions.

“Sorry I missed the #DNC . I was busy having a DNC,” she tweeted.

Earlier, on Sept. 2, Mollen tweeted: “The biggest threat to our country is no sense of humor.”

Maybe so. But it might also be what people believe is funny.
