The case — the first major prosecution arising from the meltdown of major U.S. financial institutions — was seen as a litmus test of whether a jury, presented with evidence from emails between money managers and conference calls with investors, would convict individuals for corporate collapses.
Ralph Cioffi, 53, and Matthew Tannin, 48, were acquitted of all charges on the second day of deliberations by a jury in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, New York. Cioffi and Tannin left the courthouse with their smiling wives and relatives, some of them crying tears of relief.

I’d have to say…ANY and ALL of these bankers should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Did any of the tax paying citizens benefit ONE single bit from the bailout money we gave them?….NO! So why should any of them escape time at club fed for as bad as they’ve made things.
I’m pretty sure the powers that be simply want to run this system into the ground, through some dirt on the top and move on with their plans to create a one-world currency, government, police force.
That may sound OHH so good to many, but these select few are greedy, nasty, selfish peices of garbage who don’t care aboutt anyone but themselves. It’s were we’re headin folks!

Granted that these are the types (sellers of false securities) that are responsible for the meltdown that transitioned into record forclosures and unemployment among the people, more evidence or compelling evidence was needed to prove the intent of lying to investors. It would be hard to prove such a case since sellers and buyers were at one point enthusiastic about buying debt.
But here is my thought: The crime can be proved with the very fact that the packaging of risky debt (sub-prime) along with less risky debt, and selling it as a sure return on investment carries the intention to trick investors. There is no law against making such packages, but it would fall under the category of securities fraud.

I don’t get a kick out of people’s suffering , but I do get a kick out of justice , and I know
that sinners get their fair n’ square share ( shares !!! ) of punishment , after which , they’re
thrown back into the cycle of birth n’ death again , like the lot of us , and when they get a human body again ( after going through 8 million more or less miserable forms of fish ,

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
