Justice Department Double Standard in the Shooting of Sean Bell

The federal attorneys in Washington declined to file charges in against the NYPD for the shooting of Sean Bell. Bell was shot multiple times by NYPD policemen on his wedding day. Bell’s fiancé says that if Sean Bell was white, this case would be different. Marina Portnaya says that police brutality extends beyond New York and that there is a public distrust.
