Ken Clarke warns Britain is on the brink of ‘meltdown’

Mr Clarke, 68, said the British economy is headed for a “catastrophic crisis” that will be “far worse than anything that has occurred in my lifetime”.
“There will be a very serious recession next year,” he said in an interview with Telegraph TV. “I think the big problem in 2009 will be the catastrophic fall in consumer spending demand, spending in shops will get worse.”
Mr Clarke, who as Chancellor of the Exchequer between 1993 and 1997 led Britain’s recovery from Black Wednesday, called for a temporary cut in VAT to boost spending.
Speaking as the Office of National Statistics revealed unemployment has reached an 11-year high of 1.82m, Mr Clarke said the number of jobless could soon reach three million.
“It is going to go up a long way… whether we will get back to three million again is one of those slightly morbid questions I really don’t know the answer to. But it could get pretty big,” he said. Rising unemployment will have a “devastating effect” on families and lead to more people being unable to pay their mortgages, he said.

Doesn’t make any sense.” What you don’t realize is that this is a FORM of TORTURE packaged as a ‘less lethal’ weapon. It also has a big mental effect for a period of time on you. I’ve been tasered, and I’d rather be beat, stabbed or shot than have this “humane” alternative used. Think about being suddenly stopped in your tracks, in the worst pain you can imagine and without the control of your muscles so you CAN’T RESPOND. In a civilian’s hands for self-defense, sure use it if you’re cornered. In the hands of the police or military that are supposed to enforce legality, it’s an INHUMANE, TORTUROUS, CONFESSION TOOL. Personally, I’d like to see statistics on how many people after being zapped in the street can think well enough to avoid self-incrimination. It also boosts arrests I’m sure. Seeing a friend or family member zapped, most people will try and check on their welfare at the least and wind up getting an obstruction charge. Enough said?

Of course there is another way of solving the problem, we could let the banks fail, declare all loans as null and void (its only thin air anyway) let people keep their homes, cars and businesses.
That would mean an extra $1000 per month for many families, they would start spending and saving, new banks would spring up in their place.
In addition, let pensioners keep the whole of their pension, currently they only get the interest, the pension co keeps the Capital when the pensioner dies.
Stop Govt Borrowing, there is no need, if you print your own money, free of charge, there is no need to pay back loans to the Global banks.
No Loan, or interest, no Govt borrowing or debt, no need for Income Tax.
You see there is simply no need for income tax, if the American People print their own money rather than borrow it from the Banks.
