A Tell City man wanted in connection with an Oct. 19 methamphetamine lab discovery in Tell City was shot and killed by a U.S. marshal Friday afternoon in Hawesville, Ky.

Details as of 6:30 p.m. were sketchy but sources told The News that Roger Pate was shot and killed inside a home on Kentucky 69. Police were apparently attempting to make entry into the house to serve a warrant when Pate attempted to grab an officer’s gun.

It was unclear how many shots were fired. No other injuries were reported, though details of the shooting had not been released.
