A case in Lawrence is raising questions about the law when it comes to guns in dorm rooms.
It has been several weeks since a gun was found in a University of Kansas dorm room. Even though that violated state law, the student still hasn’t been charged by the Douglas County District Attorney.
The 22-year-old KU student was seemingly in hot legal water after campus police say they found a gun in his room at Battenfeld Scholarship Hall. That was a clear violation of university policy and also against Kansas law governing firearms in state buildings.
