A leftist journalist who writes for Slate and The Boston Globe was caught up in a Twitter firestorm following the tragic Lafayette shooting last night, stating that he’d find it “funny” if all Second Amendment supporters were shot dead.

Luke O’Neil is a freelance writer with anti-gun views, which, judging by his tweets, means compassion and tolerance of other people’s rights go out of the window.

Here’s the tweet that O’Neil sent out following the movie theater shooting incident:

When O’Neil was called out on the hate-filled messages by Stephen Miller, an independent conservative blogger, he went even further:

Miller responded by pointing out the contradiction in O’Neil’s extreme views:

A series of other tweets from O’Neil were designed to rile up the “gun nuts”:

Hopefully The Boston Globe and other publications might consider not publishing any more of O’Neil’s diatribes in light of the fact that he thinks mass murder of conservative Americans would be “funny”.

O’Neil doesn’t seem to care about those publications, however:

O’Neil’s blatherings come as the left sharpens its claws for gun control with the news that the Lafayette shooter was a white male who supported the Tea Party.

Within minutes of news breaking about the tragedy in Lafayette, liberals were calling for all white men to be stripped of their Second Amendment rights. The usual suspects – Piers Morgan prime amongst them are already out in full force exploiting the shooting to push gun control.
