Iran has provided the United States and Israel with another excuse to attack – the country has announced it will now produce yellowcake. The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Fereydoun Abbasim said on Wednesday Iran has installed a new generation centrifuges at the Natanz facility.
Yellowcake, also known as urania, is a concentrated powder produced through processing uranium ore. It is used in the preparation of uranium fuel for nuclear reactors.
In Bush’s 2003 SOTU, he made the now notorious “sixteen words” statement that Saddam Hussein had obtained yellowcake from Niger and was secretly working on the development of a nuclear weapon.
In fact, Iraq did not have a nuclear program and Bush’s statement was a lie based on a crude forgery originating with Italian military intelligence and then hyped by the Bush neocons as one of several pretexts to invade the country – in other words a war crime little different than the Nazis’ Gleiwitz false flag incident that kicked off the Second World War and resulted in the slaughter of over 60 million people.
More than a year after the invasion, in October of 2004, the CIA admitted that Hussein did not have a stockpile of illicit weapons, including nuclear weapons. The Iraq Survey Group report revealed that Iraq’s WMD program was essentially destroyed in 1991 and Saddam ended Iraq’s nuclear program after the 1991 Gulf War.
In September of 2002, months before the invasion, I wrote that Saddam received the materials for his WMD program from U.S. and European corporations. Donald Rumsfeld traveled to Iraq and made sure Saddam Hussein received whatever he needed to fight his war against Iran. In 1982, Reagan “legalized” direct military assistance to Iraq. This resulted in more than a billion dollars in military related exports.
By the time the neocons were pitching the invasion – ultimate cost: $100 billion for every year of occupation and 1.5 million dead Iraqis – information about U.S. complicity in Saddam’s weapons program was common knowledge.
Instead of telling the truth, the establishment media worked with the criminal neocons to sell the invasion to the American people. The New York Times published articles by the war propagandist Judith Miller – who conspired directly with the Bush neocons and their agent Ahmad Chalabi. Miller wrote lurid stories about aluminum tubes and other such nonsense in an effort to prepare the way for invasion and mass murder. Instead of being prosecuted as a war propagandist, Miller is now a darling of the establishment media and a “fellow” at a neocon “free market” (as in the freedom of transnational corporations to loot and pillage) think tank.
The New York Times now occasionally takes a lighter approach to working the idea of mass murder and crimes against humanity into the national dialogue, as Bill Keller did in January when he imagined a “pre-emptive strike, designated Operation Yes We Can, [that] will entail bombing the yellowcake-conversion plant at Isfahan, the uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Fordo, the heavy-water reactor at Arak, and various centrifuge-manufacturing sites near Natanz and Tehran.”
Keller’s article was “extracted” from an article by Matthew Kroenig published in an issue of Foreign Affairs, the propaganda zine of the Council on Foreign Relations, the folks who are driving U.S. foreign policy and where a slavish Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trudges to get her marching orders.
Iran is allowing stupid national pride set it up as a chump. Boasting about its new yellowcake effort simply adds more grist to the globalist mill as it churns out more excuses to reduce Iran to a parking lot, or a reasonable facsimile (see the current state of Iraq, the last victim of the effort to pitch a formerly advanced country into the Dark Ages).
Back in 2008, Mohammad Khazaee, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, said the right and ability to enrich uranium has “become an issue of national pride” in Iran, and asserted that regardless of what sanctions are imposed on Iran by the UN Security Council, and regardless of what incentives Iran is offered in talks, “the Iranian people will not accept suspension” of Iran’s enrichment program.
Not that it matters. The globalists long ago decided to take out Iran, not because its fledgling nuclear program presents a threat, but because all uppity Muslim countries in the region are to be reduced to broken vassal states – as Zbigniew Brzezinski declared – in order to “keep the barbarians from coming together” as the globalists consolidate their power and move inch by inch to their final goal: a worldwide slave gulag lorded over by a technocratic class and unelected commissars taking orders and directives from an inbred ruling elite.
