Looks like the flap over fluoride isn’t going to disappear anytime soon.
Worried about the “medication” of local drinking water, a new group has formed to educate people about the dangers of adding fluoride to public water systems.
“STOP FLUORIDE” will hold its first meeting at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Progressive Gardens, 6005 Oleander Drive.
Founder Evan Folds said the group’s eventual goal is to get the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority and other utilities to eliminate the practice.
The authority this week began adding fluoride to water treated at its new nano-plant, which serves customers in northern New Hanover County.
