Local Police Want Right to Jam Wireless Signals

As President Obama’s motorcade rolled down Pennsylvania Avenue on Inauguration Day, federal authorities deployed a closely held law enforcement tool: equipment that can jam cellphones and other wireless devices to foil remote-controlled bombs, sources said.

It is an increasingly common technology, with federal agencies expanding its use as state and local agencies are pushing for permission to do the same. Police and others say it could stop terrorists from coordinating during an attack, prevent suspects from erasing evidence on wireless devices, simplify arrests and keep inmates from using contraband phones.
But jamming remains strictly illegal for state and local agencies. Federal officials barely acknowledge that they use it inside the United States, and the few federal agencies that can jam signals usually must seek a legal waiver first.

This could also be used to discoordinate any types of military or para-military type actions against the institutions of the illegitimate bankster government(s). If any patriots banded together and attacked the thugs of the NWO, they would have a difficult time coordinating the attack due to this technology. The dangers of big government are going to become very clear soon and those that voted for it will be the first to complain.
It could become a tool that the local police depts. use against the civilian population in emergency and non emergency situations.
I love my country and understand the difficulties of being a law enforcement officer, but this is a power that could be abused and the more people that have access to such power, the higher the rate of possibility that it would be used in a deceptive/manipulative and wrongful manner.

Like someone is going to sit there and spend 5 minutes going through a list on a PDA or Cell phone erasing stuff just to prevent evidence from being seen later.

there was a japanese handheld consumer device like this to disable cell phones on a busy train for example. for full spectrum denial of electromagnetic communications, search odion coil (amateur scientist column in sci american had a diy plan for one in the 60s or 70s).
technically jamming radio is creating a public nuisance. the airwaves legally belong to the public, not the government or any private group. the fcc gets away with licensing the public airwaves as being justified by the need for order so that signals don’t interfere. the fcc doesnt have authority to allow the federal or local authorities to jam an entire range of frequencies. payback is fair in such a case, it’s easy enough to jam fire and police and whatever else, even “secret” military frequencies. the napa valley sentinel in the late 1980s mentioned the fema bunker there had laser satellite communications, something to think about.

in order to “JAM” radio signals for cell phones only would be easy. But to “JAM” radio signals for all possible use, bombs, RC devices, Live Video, etc, would also “JAM” THEIR radio signals.

thecell system operates on a very specific set of frequencies and “hanshakes” sticking a”monkey wrench” in the procedure would jam the phones but leave adjacent frequencies usuable for PTT(radio traffic).

Go ahead and let them have their jammers. Funny thing is, the technology works both ways. Trunked radio systems (even the digital ones) are easy to interfere with if you have the know-how. Simplex UHF/VHF communication still used by many law enforcement agencies is also rather simple to jam. Knowledge is power, folks. Fight the fire with fire. These guys are also overly dependent on wireless communication, so they only expose themselves with any jamming technology they might use and that is beneficial to us. Stealth is key, and simplicity will always win in the long run. Let ‘em fire up their electronic toys. It’s all the more advanced warning to me, alerting of their presence in the area.
