It’s all about keeping a-CIA-duh front and center. “The FBI has launched a publicity campaign in Afghanistan to announce a $1 million reward for information about an American from California charged with treason,” reports the Associated Press. “Adam Yahiye Gadahn, 29, grew up in Riverside County. He is ‘an integral part of al-Qaida’s media and recruitment branch (and) has endorsed terrorist activity,’ FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said Friday.”
Gadahn’s background is very interesting. His paternal grandfather, Carl Pearlman, was a prominent surgeon and on the Board of Directors of the Anti-Defamation League. His father, originally Phil Pearlman, grew up in Orange County, California and was involved in the “counterculture movement” — he was a hippie — at the University of California at Irvine, and before Adam’s birth became a self-styled Christian. Young Adam, a former Little League baseball player and member of the so-called Death metal community, had a “yawning emptiness” and sought “to fill that void” by converting to Islam and trekking off to Pakistani tribal areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border where he participated in a number of “face-to-face brainstorming sessions” with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the supposed al-Qaeda big fish “responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z,” as he allegedly admitted while in custody, never mind Osama bin Laden insisted he was not responsible for that event, although a fat version of the notorious terrorist later changed his mind.
“The FBI’s publicity effort campaign will include matchbooks, handbills and posters that will be distributed throughout Afghanistan,” the Associated Press continues. Of course, this will be a dismal failure, same as “smoking out” Osama was a dismal failure. But then the effort has nothing to do with bringing a traitor to justice, but rather pestering us once again with the tiresome legend of al-Qaeda, as we the public has a tendency to put this sort of nonsense behind them.
It seems everybody is tired of this particularly transparent effort to put the face of a white boy on the al-Qaeda non-threat. Pakistan wanted to put the myth to rest so bad they claimed “Azzam the American” was killed in an airstrike earlier this year. But that didn’t stop the FBI, who said it “does not possess conclusive evidence or reliable confirmation that these reports are accurate. In the absence of such confirmation, Gadahn is considered a fugitive and is currently being sought by the FBI.”

And like the dead Osama, he will be sought forever, or at least until our rulers come up with another scary bedtime story. It will likely be shortly coming, as the entire al-Qaeda legend is running out of steam. Most people, with the exception of a few neocons and their demented followers, are sincerely sick and tired of the whole al-Qaeda ruse. In response to this dwindling fear and apprehension, big kahuna neocon Newt Gingrich said last month that Bush “should every once in a while have allowed an attack to get through just to remind us.”
No doubt. Because we no longer believe and the neocon psychopaths quite naturally believe it will take a bit of mass murder to get us back on track.
