A Holocaust survivor who was born inside the Auschwitz concentration camp has said former SS guard Reinhold Hanning ‘made hell possible’ during his trial for his alleged complicity in 170,000 killings.
Hanning, 94, was addressed by 71-year-old Angela Orosz Richt-Bein at the court in Detmold.
‘People like you, Mr Hanning, made the hell of Auschwitz possible. People who looked on and assisted without asking questions,’ she said, according to the Guardian.
Hanning is one of the several former members of the Nazi SS who have been put on trial this year.
