Manufacturing employment in the U.S. peaked in June 1979 with 19,553,000 jobs (data here), and by July of this year manufacturing employment had fallen to 11,817,000, the lowest level of manufacturing jobs since April 1941 (see chart above).
As a percent of the total labor force, manufacturing employment fell below 9% in July (see chart below), the lowest level in BLS history (back to 1939).

Who is left to go to war with, a war that will not last 2 to 3 weeks of bomb runs then some clean up but a 2 to 3 year war for them to make real money off of.
Russia – they like selling oil and eating KFC to much
China – We are already slaves to them
North korea – Just drop some candy bars on their starving population and they’ll give up
How about another civil war no nukes will be used on home land, hmm that might work

actually i am pretty sure that when they call fast food manufacturing they really mean manufacturing. When i was driving truck i was dispatched to a few Mcd’s food manufacturing plants. the one i will never forget and the reason i don’t eat fast food anymore is a plant that is in the northwest, i can’t name it. That plant made mcfries, tanker trucks were brought in with “renderings”, soybeans, and other byproducts. I have been to a lot of plants and this smelled worse than the paper plant in new mexico. My wife was with me and she became extremely sick while we were waiting for our load. the smell was a cross between dead animals and rotten putrid fat. It was the most disgusting thing we have encountered. I once cleaned out a water trough with a cow dissolved in it and this plant was worse.
The reason fast food is cheap is because it isn’t food.

The Gary Principles
Better Know as
United States Steel, Corp,
CC 1901
I believe that when a thing is right, it will
ultimately and permanently succeed.
The highest rewards come from honest and proper
practice. Bad results come in the long run from
selfish, unfair and dishonest conduct.
I believe in competition…that the race should be
won by the swiftest, and that
success should come to him who is most earnest and
active and persevering.
I believe that no industry can permanently
succeed that does not treat its employees
equitably and humanely.
I believe thoroughly in publicity.
The surest and wisest of all regulation is public opinion.
If we are to succeed in business, we must
do it on principles that are honest, fair,
lawful and just.
We must put and keep ourselves on a platform
so fair, so high, so reasonable, that we will attract
the attention and invite and secure the approval
of all who know what we are doing.
We do not advocate combinations or agreements
in restraint of trade, nor action of any kind which is
opposed to the laws or to the public welfare.
We must never forget that our rights and
interests are and should be subservient to the public
welfare, that the rights and interests of the individual
must always give way to those of the public.
United States Steel Corporation’s Founding Fathers
Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, Charles Schwab, Elbert H. Gary
When founded in 1901, United States Steel Corporation was the largest business enterprise ever launched, with an authorized capitalization of $1.4 billion. Throughout the years,
U. S. Steel responded to changing economic conditions and new market opportunities through diversification and periodic restructuring. Today, over a century after its founding, U. S. Steel remains the largest integrated steel producer headquartered in the United States.

Unbelievable!
He goes on and on to epsouse the highest and noblest sound principles, only to use these truths in the end to sell the lie of COLLECTIVISM, where the individual has no rights, only “the public” does, and WHO is “the public”? It is the government, of course, the same controlled by the corporations.
What he was doing is using all the great sounding rhetoric, to convince us that basically, the system we have right now, corporate fascism, is the best one there is, or ever could be.

“…percent of labour force…” peaked, but manufacturing jobs fell since the 1981 depression again, otherwise mislabelled “recession” another play on words just like calling one world government world “governance” to mislead dummies and TV addicts…
So, in closing, remember percent of workforce, peaked at WW2 and number of manufaturing jobs peaked in 1981.

Hate to disagree with ya BOSS . But , if you noticed ( you have to be at least 30 years old , or a good
student of recent history ) jobs started screaming out of our borders AFTER the unions were busted . Who WAS always touted as the number one consumer of manufactured products in the world ? AMERICANS !!!!!!! You have to make money to spend money . That is why Henry Ford raised his factory workers wages to an unprecedented level . When asked why he said ” they have to make enough to
by my cars ” . Labor costs has been the lie to justify OUTSOURCING . Amazing isn’t it , that it is always
the low end of labor that is the problem . 30 line workers benefits and all do not add up to 1 executive’s
expenses or bonuses . Every major company that has failed ( including the hospital that I just left ) has been bled dry by overpaid and overcompensated executives . Not to mention the fact that their work to
employee ratio is considerably lower than a laborer . Unions were one of the few leverages that the
working man had . It also made non-union companies compete with union wages for employees .
Every state that has approved the Right -to Work , union busting laws has seen a decline in wages
all around . None of them have seen an influx of jobs , like they were promised . OUTSOURCING WAS
NEVER ABOUT COSTS . IT WAS ABOUT DRIVING THE STANDARD OF AMERICAN LIFE DOWN TO A THIRD
WORLD COUNTRY !!!!!!!! Poorer countries are easier to manipulate and control .

I am a union member, and though I cant believe the nwo bulls--- and “democratic” party propaganda that they peddle at both meetings and “the UA journal”- a union pipetrades newsletter, its not the unions fault. the unions have their policies that I cant stand….but the issue of removal of US jobs to foreign countries has nothing to do with paying the american worker a good wage, it is all about lowering the US standard of living to the point that the people will accept any work at all just to get by and put food on the table. “a hungry man cares not for freedom”— B.Franklin

as a side note…. the union work itself has completley changed from only 10 yrs ago. Ive worked in the huge vegas casinos, skyscrapers in chicago, military bases, and hospitals . never once have I needed a background check to work in any of these facilities (or drug test) but recently the oil refineries and other infrastructure developments demand full bkgrnd checks – not criminal checks–civil checks. if youve had a dui…EVER…..no job. late on your child support…no job. if youve had ANYTHING on your record … no job. bring your hunting rifle on the property (most refineries in the midwest are very near public hunting land and many tradesmen are hunters)—literally they can and will charge you with terrorism. in the orientations for these jobs(4hrs), they bring up the 911 attacks at LEAST 20 times, saying how theyre (al-ciaduh) out to get us and how badly the terrorists want to blow up bridges or refineries. most all of the tradesmen sit there and nod their f---in heads like “yup – were protectin merica” it makes me want to puke. I wish more of these guys would get their heads out of their ass put the big boy pants on.

A U.C. Davis Agricultural study found that the labor cost of producing a head of lettuce is only about 5-7 cents per head. The rest is the profit margins of all the middle men on the way to your salad bowl. But that doesn’t stop pro-illegal alien supporters from claiming that if American farm workers were paid enough money to attract more to those jobs, that the price of a head of lettuce would skyrocket to $5 a head. Truth is, we could double the wages of farm workers producing lettuce, attract more Americans to that work, and the price of your salad would only go up a few cents.

sure it’s unions, but the teachers union or the municipal workers union, that’s about 80% of what’s left of the union workforce
hmmm has got it right, where the jobs go so goes the research and development. The NWO needs to “harmonize” wages and economy before the merger can be successfully integrated.
Make no mistake this is by design.
In order to be a 1st world country you have to be able to make steel, meaning you have ability to manufacture. Of 190 countries only about 30 can make steel. Of these 30 the USA ranks 28 in science and 29 in math. They educate 12 months a year in India, while you think your kid and school district is doing well, on the world stage we rate far behind the eight ball. Hire an HB-1 engineer or chemist, or software design for 2/3 of US wages.

Indeed, but it’s a basic and expected thing to happen in a changing market. As a Post-Doc in Economics and Finance, people have a problem of not being able to change with the market.
They feel they will have this job forever, as they don’t see changes that science and tech have on the world and the way things are completed. People must learn to become more dynamic and change with the market, so education needs to be increased. But that does not meet education needs more funding. You can have your children home schooled and yearn more then anyone in normal grade school would. Learning needs to be an on-going life experience and activity. I have noticed that people in America don’t like to learn or take education as seriously as someone who came from China or India, and I see this effect in the American Economy.
I do wish people felt that we as humans should work together to research the stars. Not control one another.

This is a dumb article. I’m on board with 95% of the articles on infowars.com but I really don’t see why this is pertinent. It’s called the structural transformation of the economy. Its the postindustrial shifting of jobs from manufacturing to information and service sectors. Don’t blame the NWO, blame the way that economies progress. I’m not saying that it is a good thing, it is debatable to say the least but it has little to do with the NWO and more to do with social stratification. We are an increasingly educated nation, especially since 1941. It’s only natural that as our percentage of educated Americans increases the skills of the labor market change and the jobs change to accommodate a more educated market. This is where the information sector came from. Those who work in the service sector are those who would have worked in the manufacturing sector but there aren’t anymore manufacturing jobs left because we didn’t want them badly enough to keep competitive with countries whose economies are still in the manufacturing stages; like China and India.

I bet we would see a correlation between the data in this article and our nation’s current unemployment rate. If a correlation does exist, I believe it would be related to the out sourcing of these manufacturing jobs, that most of our country’s unemployed could perform. The changing world economy (”structural transformation of the economy”) of which you speak of is a direct result of our shrinking middle class. The middle class life style of which Americans have enjoyed is unlike anywhere else in this world. The shrinkage of the American middle class is a NWO agenda item. The data in this article should cause concern in all Americans, because it is a reflection of our weakened economy.

Food, clothing and shelter. The basics. If you’re an American, chances are, you can’t grow your own food, you can’t make you’re own clothes, and you can’t build your own house, or at least fix up your own house. So my question is, who the hell are you? We need to get back to doing jobs like agriculture, manufacturing, and industry. Things like food, transportation, energy, clothing. Things that actually benefit people in physical reality. We still need some service economy jobs, but not so damn many. We need the service economy jobs to be the trades people, like carpenters, plumbers, and electricans. How many more lawyers, accountants, government employees, massage therapists, and restaurant employees do we need? We are a swindle economy. We do each others laundry for a living. We need to have some kind of way to balance out our currency with the rest of the world. We CAN compete in physical reality with the rest of the world if we want to. We can’t compete against the cheap currencies though.

The first graph isn’t valid because it for non-farm payrolls. Which ties only loosely into the topic. The second one is what counts and it has been steadily going down with time. I’m sure the same study performed in China would indicate a statistical increase (flip side) in manufacturing jobs as the U.S. has continued to OUTSOURCE practically all of it’s manufacturing labor force to off shore interests. All of our labels in just about everything we buy reveals that the manufacturing occurred off shores. Even General Motors, after accepting all that tax payer bailout money, is currently manufacturing their new GM models in Mexico. The problem is, we (American citizens) continue to allow it.

M, you need to educate yourself on economics and history before you make statements like these. Manufacturing jobs did NOT leave this country because nobody wanted them. It’s called NAFTA and it was created under the illusion that free trade would create greater foreign demand. A concept that was even less than retarded. No country in history ever grew its own industries without protectionism. It’s a historical fact. Free trade is NOT free. Do the research and you’ll see for yourself.

don’t worry, a few of them are friends..
be sure to not identify those to their putative ‘fellows’
thereby avoiding fratricide, and you get to keep a good’un

Want to know why you are SCREWED? Eugenics – the elimination of those deemed inferior or undesirable for the purpose of allowing the superior and desirable to thrive. America has practiced this for the past 35 years through abortion. If a baby is desired, the woman is pregnant with a baby. If the baby is not wanted, she will go have the baby – er… blob of tissue butchered and discarded. Planned Parenthood was founded in America by a devoted believer and promoter of eugenics who wanted, for one thing, to eliminate the black population. She has been extremely successful at instilling this eugenics mindset to such an extreme that millions of mothers will now butcher their own children. A law of life that is as irrevocable as the law of gravity is the law of sowing and reaping. When they come to kill you there will be no argument against stopping the plan. YOU will be as undesirable as the unborn baby and will be considered a blob to be discarded. I hope they don’t slice us to pieces, suction our limbs off, burn us with toxic compounds and suck the brains out of our heads while we are still alive like we have done to over 50 million babies.

In 1991 I took a business course at a major University, I believe it was Business and Politics. A lot of the course focused on the types of jobs in post industrial America. It was said that we were going to be shifting to an almost purely service based economy. That was almost 20 years ago. I do believe the shift has happened. It’s something we knew was going to happen.

American towns and cities have been devastated by the greedy corporate entities on wallstreet who derive substantial profits on the misery of 3rd world slave labor. Look at your towns and cities and see how they have decayed due to the loss of manufacturing jobs. The thugs in the corporate world have joined forced with the thugs in our government to make this happen. On top of this greed, these crooks have been given billions of our tax payer dollars to preserve their evil enterprise.

Americans need to focus more on education rather than worrying about manufacturing jobs. I agree that there only needs to be so many lawyers, accountants, etc., but even more troubling than losing the manufacturing jobs is the fact that places like India and China are on pace to surpass the U.S. in the percentage of their population with bachelor’s degrees and dwarf the U.S. in the percentage of the population with math, science, and engineering degrees. That’s the real trouble. We’ll start losing the information and technology jobs because there won’t be enough competent workers in the U.S. to satisfy the demand. If your kid is looking for career advice, tell him/her to be an engineer, scientist, or a statistician. I guess the problem with that is that a college degree is becoming unaffordable.

I completely agree with Bill. Education is key at this point in time. On that point, I’ve recently come across an organization that’s promising education on a key issue for most of us. Wealth production adn protection. If anyones interested in checking it out, contact me at dmg-roller@hotmail.com, and I’ll let you know where to go and what to do.

In the psalms David quoted My Lord said to My Lord sit thou at my right hand til i make thine enimies your foot stool. This is a prophecy about the Lord Jesus who died and rose again and sits at the right hand of the Father. He is interceeding for those whom the Father give to Him. All thoses who call upon His name and give HOnor to what He has done. a substitute. A blood letting gift for thoses who need a precious saviour. The King of Kings. Risen and conquored death for us who believe. The third woe and scorching sun is a good web site for the returning King. Gods magnificient salvation plan will last in the world til He comes again at the last trumpet. Maybe very soon. Turkey becaume a muslim country in 2002. Trust Him for all your needs. Give all for the King and help all.
Your reward is very great in Heaven. God thinks of you as HIS child. CAll HIM ABBA FAther today.

The loss of most of our manufacturing base is one of the main reasons for the decline of America today. The elites knew what they were doing many years ago with all these stupid-ass “free trade” agreements which they said would stimulate trade and create millions of new jobs. What it really did was make the snobs at the top even richer while screwing the working class people who are still searching for that American dream. The agreements basically gave companies the green light to outsource millions of decent paying jobs once held by Americans overseas to countries like China which is a Communist dictatorship and whose workers work for far less than Americans and don,t get any benefits that you see here. They also succeeded in breaking the backs of many of the labor unions. Not all unions are good and some are actually a racket themselves. But unions became necessary when some employers abused their workers with low pay, long hours, and dangerous work conditions. This destruction of manufacturing also has ominous overtones for the nation,s future should we get into another major war and need to crank up war materiel production. So if we go to war with China, I don,t think that Uncle Sam or the corporate boobs are going to get a lot of productivity out of their Chinese facilities( not for our side anyway).

im not that old, but i can remember in the early eighties when sam walton ran wal-mart, they advertised most of their products as “made in the usa” and they prided themselves on that….
something has fundamentally changed in america. i think we should outsource wall street and the politicians to the guilliotine. im dead serious, if we dont take action now, well settle for notrhing later.

If you’re reading my posts before they get deleted, then good for you. You may learn something.
Now, the next step after we are all going to university to make minimum wage is that we will be replaced by robots. I mean in terms of jobs. The distant future, say, in about 50 years will be like the movie The Terminator, with machines hunting us down. The difference will be that the machines will be controlled by men, unlike the movie where the whole robot army is completely autonomous. And this is all if we don’t succeed. Nothing is set in stone. But the part about needing to go to university to make minimum wage is, I assure you, going to be a reality. Don’t worry, Bill Gates and the like will still make millions of dollars per minute. Everything for Bill Gates. Basically, one man gets it all and billions starve. Nothing new there. That’s been going on for a long time.
Anyway, moderator, I’ve said what I have to say. You can delete my comment now.
PS – If I were you, I would start saving for your child’s education, because like I said, they are going to need a university education to sweep the floor at McDonald’s for minimum wage. It’s not what I want. I’m just telling you what I know. You can take this and prepare, or you can ignore it at your peril. Good day.

The west has not deindustrialised, but industry has not expanded to avoid the outcome of a zero sum game, for the majority of labour, which is much more plentiful than in the 1940s, for instances of industry which have long ago matured: Steel making, car manufacturing, etc. As of now, the US is moving towards a model where those with high-level skills are employed in centres of high earning and innovation, and those with lesser skills, are employed in the service sector. For instance, many university campuses, are more akin to a self-contained town, so as to service foreign demand for a western education in consort with the values of a western lifestyle, but without an exposure to real and/or perceived risk, as they pay up to €120,000, for a degree.

Want a job? Get a Chinese visa! Right?
There will be no recovery except working for the police state.
Those not employed will have to be eliminated.
