This site has rules for comments. The upside of the rules is that discourse remains orderly. The downside is that when someone posts in a way that complies with all of the rules, but the post is nevertheless removed by a moderator, and word of this gets out, the site may get a reputation for arbitrary censorship.

This just happened to an informative post of mine written to clarify a bit of philosophical confusion on the part of a reader who had responded directly to me by name. It happened not just once, but twice.

Have a great day.

You just don't get it, do you, Wiley? English grammar, I mean.

Some colloquial usages are so widespread that it sounds funny to say the same thing the "right" way. Take "it isn't me" or "it ain't me", for example. Say "it isn't I" instead, and you sound like an actor out of an old British movie or an uptight schoolmarm with a 2x4 up her backside.

If you want to sound like that, good for you. But don't use phrases like "more genetically superior" to boot, or people will think you're a British schoolmarm with a learning disability of her own. (If you know what a double comparative is, then you know that inserting a modifier in the middle of it doesn't help.)

Remember, Wiley: when you're on a highway and roadrunner goes "beep beep", better watch out or you might end up in a heap. Or as another might say while pointing in your direction, "That coyote is really a crazy clown!"

Peace, dawg.

Good point. She was also one of 11 children and watched her mom die of cervical cancer. While 11 kids may not have been out of the ordinary at that time I am guessing that watching someone dying of cancer (before there was much they could do about it) had a profound impact on her. On the one hand you can see that maybe on some level she was trying to keep women from becoming baby factories and then dying young as a result, but then you look at her racism and lack of compassion for those she saw as "lesser" and it makes for an odd mix to say the least. That picture of her above is eery. Her eyes are just dead. No soul.
